Supplier selection is one of the most important elements of the procurement process which has the ability to influence the performance of the entire supply chain management. Thus, it is considered as one of the major factors in the supply chain strategy in multinational organizations. Contrarily, least attention is given to the subject by the companies originated in Pakistan. Lack of research in this domain is also impairing this issue. Regardless of the importance of the supplier selection subject, the state-owned companies in Pakistan, are specifically, paying least concern towards it. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify the importance of different factors of supplier selection, by the state-owned enterprises working under the city government of Karachi. In order to simplify the model, researchers predominantly focused on the generic criteria for supplier selection and further included some other variables like HSSE/ ISO policies and flexible contract terms to the research model. Moreover, moderation has also been used in order to replicate the model effectively with the scenario of Karachi. After adoption of the generic model of supplier selection, Hayes model has been used for the analysis of data. The study findings reveal that the organization working under the City Government of Karachi have different criteria and preferences for supplier selection. Hence the research is pervasive in nature and can be adopted by policy makers and technocrats in order to improve the supplier selection process of state-owned enterprises.

The supplier selection process has become an important area of research and professional activity, and it is fundamental to understand the types and trends of research in this field. The appropriate supplier selection decision is a fundamental strategic process and plays an important role in supply chain management. In the last decade, academic research on sustainability has evolved rapidly in the supply chain literature. However, there has been scant opportunity for the research community to complete a global assessment of sustainable supplier selection activities to date. This paper seeks to address this need by exploring sustainability in supply chain management, developing a sustainable supplier selection framework with a tool for its operationalization to help managers evaluate supplier selection decisions. Our proposed model is based on the TOPSIS concept as a multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) model and is validated through a case study. This research work follows the best-in-class approach to comply with all applicable environmental regulations and laws in the supplier selection process.

The Formation of Dolines in Urban Areas: The Case of Cruz das Armas in João Pessoa-PB ABSTRACTEvidence of dolines are much common in João Pessoa, the capital of the state of Paraíba, but they are still poorly studied. The dolines are considered to be closed and circled depressions, associated to a topographic smoothing assisted by subsurface karstic phenomenons, characterizing an inhumed karst. As well as the slopes and the carved valleys, the dolines are also intensively occupied in the city by people who are less favoured, what represents a serious problem considering that these are depressed areas and susceptible to flooding. The research aims to verify the major factors of the terrain susceptibility to the karst features formation, exclusively the dolines, and the associated risks. In view of this objective, the geological basement data were gathered from the geological map of the State of Paraíba and the terrain morphological information were collected from the SRTM radar (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission), besides the observations of the fieldwork developed. As result, the Digital Terrain Models were achieved enabling to present the evidences of the local subsidence features, corroborated by the information about the local geography marked by a intense dynamic interaction between Barreiras and Gramame Formation (Alhandra Sedimentary Sub-Basin). The analysis showed that the failed plans presented in the limestones of the Gramame Formation contribute evidently to the percolation of water on this formation totalizing a chemical reaction able to dissolve the limestone, lowering the superposed Barreiras Formation, what give rise to circular depressions.   Key-Words: Dolines, Gramame Formation, Barreiras Formation, João Pessoa.

Under background of economic globalization, urban and the local competition will be inflected on the regional economy integration’s advancement and the level. On the respect of region cooperation, Shandong Province proposes the policy to construct the central urban circle which is centered on Jinan. Therefore, it is necessary to speed up to sign the agreement “Jinan-Dezhou with the city” .The formation of Jinan-Dezhou with the city must be economy integration of two cites firstly. This paper focuses on coal industry which can cause fast fusion of two cities’ economy in the energy field, because the coal industry is the life gate to the Jinan Major industry’s development, simultaneously it is also Dezhou city’s superior industry. Moreover, these enterprises base on the same supply chain, and they can reach the cooperative agreement or form strategy combination quickly. When discussing concrete questions, the paper applies analysis to the coal enterprise. First, it elaborates significance of the physical distribution enterprise's conformity under the supply chain pattern. Next, it states inevitability of the supply chain strategy choice of coal group enterprise conformity under the market mechanism. Then, it proposes the “three centralisms” management pattern in the coal group enterprise. Last, it designs the supplied chain management pattern in the coal group business events flow.

Abstract Supply chain has a very extensive and dynamic structure that incorporates new business models, new customer expectations, market searches and technological developments. With the introduction of Industry 4.0 into supply chain, a rapid and intensive process of digitalization begin to transform every step of supply chain. Supply chain selection is one of the essential decisions in reducing the supply chain cost and improving overall quality of product and services. With the implication of digital technologies and Industry 4.0 on supply chain, the supplier selection process has been significantly changed during the recent years. Companies are willing to need new requirements for their own suppliers in accordance with Industry 4.0 implementations and technologies. This paper aims to identify key criteria to Industry 4.0 technologies and evaluate them to select the right suppliers selection in the era of Industry 4.0 Within the scope of this study attempts to develop an integrated Interval Type 2 Fuzzy AHP and GOPRAS-G methodology to select the appropriate supplier in the face of Industry 4.0 implementations. For this purpose, Interval Type 2 Fuzzy AHP was employed to weight the supplier evaluation criteria and then, Grey COPRAS method has been applied to prioritize suppliers. This paper is to provide practitioners and researchers with insight into how Industry 4.0 strategies influence on supplier selection.

This article describes modernity in the city of Makassar during the New Order era. The meaning of modernity in this article was a modern idea or thought in the form projects of development (modernization) which the state tries to control. The control of the State is manifested in the form of uniformity and mobilization of development projects by the city government. The main impact that arises from the process is problems of urban, environment of the urban physical and social life of population of the city. This study uses the approach of the history of the city. The data used came from archives, newspapers, magazines, and results of interviews. This study shows that uniformity and mobilization of urban development modernity projects touch the lowest level, especially in the regulation and use of urban space and in the activities of urban residents. At the same time, the control and influence of the private sector increasingly determines the use of space. A predetermined city plan often can not work because it gets intervention from the interests of the private sector. In this conflict of interests, various "disappointments" arose in the attempt to modernize urban space. In urban areas, problems arise in structuring cities and social life which are vulnerable as an impact of an increasingly widespread modernization project. On the other side, the livelihood sources of some urban residents such as the informal sector are increasingly marginalized and have no support from the city government.

With the growing of consumer awareness in environmental and social issues sustainable development has become an essential element in supply chain management. Supplier evaluation and selection is one of the main strategic decisions for purchasing management in supply chain. This paper use Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to propose a new model for evaluation and ranking of a given set of suppliers from sustainable point of view. The proposed model integrates the fuzzy set theory and DEA to consider the decision makers’ preferences and handle the ambiguity and uncertainty in supplier selection process. For this purpose, linguistic values in the form of triangular fuzzy numbers are used to assess the weights of criteria, sub-criteria, and the ratings of suppliers’ performance with respect to sub-criteria. Then, a fuzzy-DEA model, using α-cut approach, is developed considering weight constraints. An application from Supplying Automotive Parts Company (SAPCO) Company, which is one of the largest suppliers of automotive parts in the Middle-East, is presented to show the applicability of the proposed model. Finally, the proposed weight restriction fuzzy-DEA model is validated through comparing with one of the recent supplier selection methods.

Due to the increasing competitiveness in every sector of business life, being effective in every process of the organizations has been required. At this point, one of the most important processes is supplier selection process within the concept of supply chain management. If a systematic supplier selection methodology is performed, it will be possible to select the most suitable supplier and provide efficiency with respect to time, quality and cost. With this study, depending on the vague structure of the real working environment, an extensively used multi criteria decision making methodology TOPSIS is used within fuzzy environment. The proposed technique is applied in a real case and the most suitable suppliers are determined and ranked.

This research was motivated by the fact that there was resistance from street vendors in Madiun City as a manifestation of people's resistance to the country. The city of Madiun, the capital city of Bakorwil 1, Madiun, is economically developing so that the number of street vendors explodes. Therefore this area is economically meaningful and has high economic value, so it becomes the goal of workers seeking, namely as street vendors. To organize the traders in the city of Madiun and the DPRD make a PKL Regional Regulation. The PKL Regional Regulation is intended to regulate the PKL selling in the city of Madiun. But the process that happened to street vendors was less involved, causing resistance. There was people's resistance to the state, because the state did not prosper the people. The regulation made by the DPRD and the Madiun city administration aims to keep traders in order, and implement the rules, but the regulation creates resistance. This study aims to: (1) understand the causes of the street vendors 'resistance (2) understand the meaning and purpose of street vendors' resistance to the Satpol PP. (3) understand the forms of street vendors' resistance to the Madiun city administration. The approach used in this study is qualitative with data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. The paradigm in this study uses a social definition. While the theory used to explain the resistance of street vendors to the policies of the city government of Madiun James C. Scott's resistance theory.

In today’s highly competitive environment, organizations need to evaluate and select suppliers based on their manufacturing strategy. Identification of supply chain strategy of the organization, determination of decision criteria, and methods of supplier selection are appearing to be the most important components in research area in the field of supply chain management. In this paper, evaluation of suppliers is done based on the balanced scorecard framework using new distance measure in fuzzy TOPSIS by considering the supply chain strategy of the manufacturing organization. To take care of vagueness in decision making, trapezoidal fuzzy number is assumed for pairwise comparisons to determine relative weights of perspectives and criteria of supplier selection. Also, linguistic variables specified in terms of trapezoidal fuzzy number are considered for the payoff values of criteria of the suppliers. These fuzzy numbers satisfied the Jensen based inequality. A detailed application of the proposed methodology is illustrated.
