Development of a lean and automated progress tracking system is one of the most challenging subjects in the construction industry. Since the current methods depend on individual and manual inspections of the site, they may have various problems. For instance, results include a natural bias since field personnel makes interpretations depending on their educational and expertise level. From the practical point of view, manual data collection and their comparison with construction drawings and schedules are inefficient as it takes too much time. With the recent advancement of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into the market and inclusion of lean project management principles, project management studies are inclined towards the digital and lean approaches. Within this perspective, the objective of this study is to reveal the use of UAVs as a lean project management tool. This paper indicates merely that UAVs have the potential for such a purpose.

As amount of information in construction industry is growing, the role of information system in project management is becoming increasingly important. With the emerging IT application to the advancing construction industry, construction project management system with advanced technology has been progressed vigorously to improve construction productivity and management efficiency. Recently, a web-based Project Management Information System (PMIS) is developed to support decision-making process by efficiently managing project related information generated from various discipline. Many firms are in the process of developing the PMIS system or already have been applied the system to various projects. However, PMIS is still in its early stage of development to be applied at industrial plant construction projects. With the complexity of the industrial plant projects, the industry practitioners need to be able to visualize the construction schedule information to manage the project efficiently. This study suggests methodologies for improving PMIS specialized for industrial plant piping construction projects to estimate the baseline schedule and performance measurement more accurately by developing a framework for the piping construction projects. By using this developed system, the researchers expect that piping construction projects will be more efficiently managed on a real-time basis through measuring progress of piping at each and every state of progress milestone and provide management with opportunities to forecast the level of efforts required to execute the remaining work scope in a timely manner.

The problems related to the integration of the unmanned aerial vehicles into national airspaces is one of the main topics that the scientific researchers are dealing with these days. Despite that, none of them are investigating the UAVs from the surveillance point of view. For that reason, highlighting the problems that have to be dealt with and assessing them through a holistic approach is the aim of the paper. Therefore, the paper takes the different stakeholders view and identify the key factors that have to be taken into account. The authors propose the surveillance technologies that can be considered and evaluated them along the revealed factors through a global view. The results can be applied as a base for the further research in UAVs surveillance domain.

The main focus of this paper is the capabilities of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as a military logistic support in conflicts areas. The conducted research addresses the problems of traditional military delivery methods. Next, the problem of using UAVs only for civilian purposes is considered. The paper begins with short elucidation of logistic support and further provides the classification of logistic materials and discusses five categories of military equipment from the logistics point of view. Next, the paper discusses the characteristics of the parameters and properties of the chosen existing UAVs that are used for the delivery of materials. Consequently, a comparison of the UAVs is carried out, and new technologies for logistic transport are presented. This paper is concluded with the claim that it is necessary to modernize the process of logistic support in the military.

BIM technology used more widely in construction industry in developed countries in Europe and the United States, the integration of building information modeling (BIM) in the domestic large-scale propulsion was still difficult, and further the trend of widening the gap with foreign advanced level. In order to identify problems and solve the current status quo, and cut into the integrated information from project management point of view of China's architectural design, and analysis the status quo of BIM technology in our project management and developmental disabilities, and BIM-based technology and related parties mutual relations, to explain the development prospects of its application in China.

Project management has become more than just a supporting role for businesses. For many organizations, it is a relevant part of getting things done, and the many tasks as-sociated with managing projects require more attention than just the scope of work of indi-vidual project management professionals (PMPs). This paper will contribute by showing how through taking standardization as the goal as well as using it internally, the Project management Offices (PMO) will contribute to the maturity level of the organization in terms of project management and increase the sustainability of their business. The core concept of this contribution is the use of Hoshin Kanri (HK) ideas to standardize communication among the process-responsible members at the PMO. Finally, application from a practical point of view is presented and its meaning discussed.

Modern threats for anti-missile system and space surveillance and tracking system objects include terroristic and unidentifiable unmanned aerial vehicle. To counter these threats a concept of radar complex for unmanned aerial vehicles jamming and detection proposed. Complex consists of non-radiating radio locator, radio warfare station and global navigation jamming radar. Structure, principle of operation and basic technical characteristics of these systems described. Counter-drone actions algorithm in proposed complex described and analyzed. Results of mom-radiating radar development in JSC MAK Vimpel and its experimental investigation described. Precision of estimation range, velocity and angular location described. Jamming effectiveness estimator schematic diagram proposed. Jamming effectiveness may be estimated on navigation equipment or program models of prospective GPS receivers. Results of effective jamming signal development presented. Results may be used in small low-energy counter drone radioelectronic systems development for anti-missile and Space Surveillance and Tracking system objects.

Abstract Background: Embedded systems are a ubiquitous part of modern civilisation. Trends point to further intensification of their use. In this article we discuss long-term implications of that process, from the point of view of systems science. Objectives: On a general level, we relate embedded systems to a general class of objects and argue about their role in human life. On a somewhat more specific level, we consider in more details the development of unmanned aerial vehicles. Methods/Approach: In order to achieve the set objectives, we conducted inductive theoretical considerations and presented the results in this section. Results: The hierarchy of notions relating human civilization to environment is established, and embedded systems are positioned within it. Conclusions: Broadening and intensification of the use of embedded systems is a gradual process, heavily intertwined with societal changes. The case study of the development of the unmanned aerial vehicles reveals the potentials of the concept of embedded systems, also in the area of human resources management

The aim of the article is to present the views of domestic and foreign authors on the genesis of project controlling and importance of that idea for the success of implemented projects, as well as its evolution in relation to project management and the attempt to classify it from the point of view of accepted analysis criteria. Controlling as a business management tool in Europe gained in importance scarcely in the second half of the twentieth century, although its beginnings fall on the medieval period. Authors of numerous studies in this field point to various sources of controlling and controller concepts, mainly due to the cultural, economic and historical conditions of shaping the role and scope of information use for project management. In the initial period of use, controlling was primarily focused on the objectives of ongoing project management, but nowadays interest in controlling oriented towardsthe needs of strategic (long–term) management is becoming more and more noticeable. Nowadays, the idea of project controlling is recommended for implementation both in large, medium–sized and small business entities as well as public institutions. In relation to project management, it may include comparative activities of planned and actual values in current operations as well as undertaking activities of regulation, management, control or other related to information needs of the senior management and key project stakeholders.
