Students’ understanding towards learning materials is generally influenced by the learning sources used. Lack of analytical skills and reasoning of the material taught especially stoichiometric material leads to a lack of interest in students' learning, students do not have a handbook but while learning takes place students use an inadequate number of textbooks in addition to covering only one or two representations. This study aimed to develop a learning module of multiple representation-based Stoichimetry concept. This study was a R &D method which adopting development of Brog & Gall. Sampling used purposive sampling. Subject in this research were students of class X IPA 2 as many as 9 students at initial field trials and 30 students of X IPA 1 at main field trials. Data collecting technique used were questionnaire and test. The data was analyzed by using Likert scale. The study revealed that the material validity by the material expert was 91,5%, and the validity by the media expert was 92,5%. The responses from the questionnaire on the practicality of the module were 88,17% and 86,89%. The effectiveness of the module could be seen from the students’ learning mastery value by 80,4%. In conclusion, the module that has been developed is considered feasible, practical, and effective to be used for both teachers and students in teaching learning process. Keywords: Stoichimetry Concept, Learning Module, Multiple Representation, Research and Development

This study aims to (1) produce thematic integrative learning modules based on sociocultural background feasible to increase student’s learning motivation and critical thinking, and (2) determine the effectiveness of the integrative thematic learning module. This research was included in the type of research and development (R & D). Development procedures in this study adapting development procedures developed by Borg and Gall with steps, namely: (1) a preliminary study, (2) planning, (3) the design of the product, (3) field trials beginning, (5) the revision of the results of the initial field trials, (6) the main field trials, (7) the revision of the main results of field trials, (8) operational field trials, (9) the improvement of the final product. The subjects of the trial are fourth-grade students Jejeran, Bantul. The results show that (1) the integrative thematic learning module based on sociocultural background feasible according to media experts and subject matter experts with category ratings "very good". (2) The integrative thematic learning modules based on the sociocultural background is effective to improve student’s learning motivation and critical thinking. It is based on the results obtained by operational field trials p <0.05, which means that there are significant differences on motivation to learn and critical thinking of students who take the learning of the module and who do not use the learning module.

The purpose of this study was to produce a feasible module. Islamic values-based learning module is an innovation to support educational progress. This module could be utilized as teaching materials to shape the student's religious character through independent learning to achieve the desired competency goals. The research method used was the RD (Research and Development) with the ADDIE procedure as the development model. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed that the developed module was feasible based on the feasibility assessment by material experts, media experts, teachers, and students. Overall, it met the feasibility criteria with an average score of 4.75 from the material experts, 4.55 from the media experts, 4.28 from the teachers, 4.45 from the limited rial, and 4.61 from the field trial. The module was declared feasible, effective, and practical to be used as teaching materials and learning resources by students in the history learning process. The benefit is that the material in the module is integrated with Islamic values to improve and shape the students’ religious character.

This chapter discusses the act of reading text. In a valid and logical response to the cultural and institutional changes taking place, Media Studies started to look at the rise of e-media and its impact on the construction and consumption of media products. Always looking to be a contemporary subject, this refocus allowed teachers and students an opportunity to engage with the new institutional structures and audience behaviours. The subject changed its terminology and no longer focused on 'texts' but on 'media products'. This shift in the discourse identified that the act of 'reading' the-media had become a secondary consideration. This move away from what was seen as an 'old fashioned' textual focus has meant that students are often having to deal with complex ideas about how the-media works without first developing a confident analytical skills-base. The chapter then looks at the act of reading television, literary texts, 'high art' on TV, and games and beyond. Providing different reading experiences for students is the first step to helping them develop an appreciation for the complex art of reading.

The excretion system are completely abstractive and complex, so it is desirable a tool that can visualize the excretion process and enable students to understand the modules well. The using of picture storybook is potential to increase the interest and activities of students. The response is a measurable reaction produced by somebody in analyzing an object that can generate an attitude. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate students’ responses to the picture storybook as a part of the teaching material which can facilitate students' thinking. This study involved the seven steps: the introduction, planning, and development of the initial product, initial field trial, revision on the main product, field trial, and revision on the operational product. The field trial was conducted to determine students’ responses to the dimension of cognitive, affective, and conative aspects through exploring three secondary schools around Pontianak, Indonesia.  Subjects in this study were students in grade 8 who had been educated with an excretion system with a total number of three students in each school for the initial field trials; while there were 12 students from each school for the main field trials. Instruments used in this study were a validation paper and a student response form. The results of the initial field trial showed the cognitive aspects (84.57%); the affective aspects (89.38%); and the conative aspects (89.46%). The implication of this research was about the possibility to use a picture storybook for increasing students' interests in science learning that we examined by the subject categories

Curriculum changes in Indonesia are made to adapt to the times. In the 21st century, the quality of learning must be related to students' analytical skills. This study aimed to analyze teacher responses to curriculum changes in Indonesia. The method used was a survey. Research subjects or respondents consisted of school principals, two students in each school, and teachers. Interviews were conducted with principals, vice-principals, teachers, and students, while the teacher also fills in a closed questionnaire prepared previously. The analysis used is descriptive, which is assisted by a percentage. The results show that the teacher's response does not match the characteristics of the new curriculum. The characteristics of the new curriculum consist of aspects of learning methods. In this aspect the majority of teachers use the lecture method, while the new curriculum recommends the discovery method. In the media aspect, the majority of teachers do not use learning media optimally. In learning outcomes, students' abilities can only be measured in aspects of remembering and understanding. The teacher cannot respond directly to curriculum changes. The teacher's methods and media must follow the new curriculum's character so that students' analytical skills in the curriculum can be measured optimally.

The study analyses the scope and role of Bloom’s Taxonomy in reforming teaching-learning practices in the classroom. Bloom’s Taxonomy propounds that teaching-learning process and assessment items should transcend beyond lower domains of learning i.e. remembering, understanding and applying to the higher domains of learning namely analysing, evaluating and creating. However, this study establishes that teacher always teach in accordance with the normative assessment patterns and students also learn accordingly. In this case, if assessment system is predominantly focused on lower domains, the teaching-learning practices will never transcend to higher domains. This study employs Bloom’s Taxonomy to categorise and analyse each item included in the annual question papers designed by the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas for the subject of English for grade XII. At Sindh province level, it has been found that 74% is exhausted for the lower domains whereas only 26% is used for higher domains. Given to the normative assessment practices, teachers and students would remain focused only on the lower domains, but by altering the course, the pedagogical practices and teaching-learning process in Sindh province can remarkably be reformed and transformed from sheer memorization and rote-learning to critical thinking, solution-making, knowledge-building process and analytical skills
