In this global era, everything changes into technology-based likewise teaching method. In teaching, technology can be used as teaching variation and this study was aimed to develop technology-based English language learning media for sixth grade elementary students by using Powtoon animation video. This study’s objectives was for developing the prototype product. This study used Design and Development (D&D) method by three steps based on ADDIE model. The stages are analysis, design, develop. Since the steps used were only three, then the product was only in the form of prototype product. In order to develop the prototype product, need analysis, designing the product based on the analysis, and then development were done. The product was quantitatively analyzed by using expert judgment. The result of the experts judgment showed that the prototype product was categorized as an excellent media after some revisions and suggestions from material and IT expert.

To learn English language, there are some language-learning strategies, which learners need to be familiar with. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the language learning strategies used among Iraqi sixth-grade preparatory students, and how could gender and proficiency level effect on using language-learning strategies. To analyze the collected data, SPSS software version 20 included Independent sample T-Test Besides, one-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD have been used. A total of 210 sixth-grade preparatory students were chosen randomly from four-different secondary schools for the academic year 2016-2017 at al-Karkh side of Baghdad city. The study sample consisted of (105 females and 105 males). The findings revealed that EFL learners have shown medium use of language learning strategies, besides, no statistically significant differences between male and female students in the frequency of using LLSs. the findings also showed Cognitive and memory strategies were the most frequent used categories comparing to the compensation strategies that scored the least frequent category. As for language proficiency, the result showed that students with high proficiency used all six categories of learning strategies more than medium and low-proficiency students.

The increase in the needs of the English language learners (ELLs) and their endless demands in terms of achievement and proficiency in all the educational systems all over the world urged teachers and educators to call for new teaching strategies that sound more adequate and appropriate in the classroom. The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model emerged as one of the worldwide prominent teaching methods that guarantee the ELLs success, especially when it has to do with the understanding of the content and language learning meanwhile. With its diverse culture and prominent engagement in terms of education, Morocco represents a fertile field for the implementation of the SIOP Model that has proven in different contexts its adequacy in helping ELLs achieve proficiency. This study is about a quasi-experimental research that is implemented in an urban school known for its diversification in terms of mother tongue, socio-economic status, gender, and background. Given these different circumstances of the learners, the findings reported after the adoption of the SIOP Model as a teaching approach showed that it is a reliable and adequate teaching method in terms of content and language proficiency. The use of wh-questions as key indicators to measure the learners’ capacity of understanding and responding correctly throughout the experiment phase showed the superiority of the ELLs in the SIOP classes in contrast to the learners in the mainstream classes. This research was describing the designing of instrument for affective assessment in English language teaching. The focus of the designing was only for observation sheet that will be used by English teachers during the teaching and learning process. The instrument was designed based on scientific approach that has five stages namely observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. In the designing process, ADDIE Model was used as the method of research. The designing of instrument was considering the gap between the reality and the teachers’ need. The result showed that the designing was also notice to the affective taxonomy such as receiving, responding, valuing, organization, and characterization. Then, three key words were used as the indicator to show the five levels of affective taxonomy such as seriously, volunteer, and without asked by teacher. Furthermore, eighteen types of affective such as religious, honesty, responsible, discipline, hard work, self confidence, logical thinking, critical thinking, creative, innovative, independent, curiosity, love knowledge, respect, polite, democracy, emotional intelligence, and pluralist were put on each stage of scientific approach. So, it is hoped that can be implemented in all of context of English language teaching at schools and can assess the students’ affective comprehensively.

Need analysis has become part of ADDIE model in developing materials for language learning. This research aims at examining the importance of need analysis as the initial focal step prior to the development of materials for Speaking for Academic Purpose. It is also investigating the reliability of ADDIE model prior to developing teaching material, specifically the ‘analyze’ stage. This research is typically a qualitative descriptive approach which conducted by using survey method. The instruments are students questionnaires and experts questionnaires created in online google form. There are totally 68 higher education students consist of thirty-three (33) seventh semester students and thirty-five (35) of fifth semester students taking the role as the respondents. The experts questionnaires are distributed to six lecturers who have the same interest in materials development and teach English for academic Purposes. The most result showed that 40 and 21 respondents consider ‘very important’ and ‘important’ which shows that 90% of all respondents has similar opinion on the importance of textbook for the course of Speaking for Academic Purpose availability. All of the expert-respondents  consider that it is important to develop materials for the course of Speaking for Academic purpose, shown by the dominant answers of ‘yes’Thus, by implementing ADDIE model, the researchers are convinced to develop materials for Speaking for Academic Purpose for students of English Education Study Program in Nusa Nipa University.

The aim of this research is to analyze the English language learning anxiety of primary students empirically. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The population of this research is the sixth-grade students’ from SDIT Al-Ihsan in South Jakarta. The sample was taken through simple random sampling of which 50 students as samples of this research. The instruments used in this research were questionnaires and interviews. This research explained that students’ English language learning anxiety is definitely considered a high category in learning English.

Purpose of the study: This study aims to identify Asnaf students’ needs in language learning and their perception of the implementation of the language camp module that had been developed by researchers using the ADDIE model Methodology: In-depth analysis of focus group interviews with Asnaf students was conducted, and the data obtained were analysed thematically according to several categories Main Findings and Novelty: The findings of this study revealed that students believed that their anxiety was lowered when they were given the opportunity to cooperate with their friends in a fully immersive and fun English language learning context Applications of this study: The modules and the findings of this study could be used by any English language educators to conduct English language camps especially to Asnaf children who stay in charity homes.

The study presented in this chapter investigated the impact of computers and the Internet on both the achievement of learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) and their attitudes toward learning EFL. The field study took place at a University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where first year students study English 101, a compulsory English language course. Thirty students were randomly selected to study in an alternative EFL course using computers, the Internet and collaborative activities within a constructivist framework. Another group of 38 students was also randomly selected to be the control group. These students attended English 101 taught using traditional teaching aids and the grammar-translation teaching method. The study was 13 weeks long. The findings of the study indicate a strong positive shift in the subjects’ attitude and motivation toward learning EFL after using the new technology-based approach. As to the subjects’ language achievement, the treatment group outperformed the control group by 30%. These findings provide strong support for the effectiveness of a technology-enhanced learning environment for second language teaching and learning.

This study explored the use and acceptance by sixth-grade Kuwaiti English language teachers of the Telegram application as an information source and a knowledge-sharing tool that enables users to easily find, store and share useful learning information and enhances their teaching–learning practices. A mixed method approach was employed that included data triangulation: observation, a survey and a focus group to empirically reveal the results. The findings revealed that Telegram application was an effective source of textual and non-textual information as well as an information-sharing tool that saved time, effort and costs and overcame time and place limitations. Telegram’s various information sets allowed for the generation of innovative ideas, which improved the effectiveness of the teaching methods and accelerated language learning. The results of this study can assist information specialists to work collaboratively with teachers to plan and design information content for Telegram to support schools’ curriculum, complement teaching practices and develop learner’s information literacy skills.

The low score obtained by the students is one of the factors, which scale down non-English major students ‘motivation in learning English, and vise versa. This case results the students seem to be indifferent to this important lesson. Demotivation is discussed due to its negative orientation and it has direct educational implications. Thus, it seems necessary to investigate and explore demotivational factors in learning English of non-English major students in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. The subject of this qualitative case study was learners of information system and computer department in STMIK Bina Adinata, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. A total of 51 students responded to the questionnaire which analyzing 30 items of six demotivational constructs use Guttman scale format and 6 students of the third semester in academic year 2018/ 2019 who got the lowest scores in the last semester represented in-depth interviews to dig deeper their perception about demotivational factors they perceived during learning English at college. The results show that lecturers' inappropriate teaching method, inadequate facilities, grammatically teaching material, lack of students' self-confidence, low score, little chance to practice and lack of students' awareness were the most demotivating factors for non-English major students. This information then can be used as a basic goal setting, method, strategy, and relevant learning materials with the needs of graduates. However, the lecturer is the most important key who can restore students' motivation in English language learning.

With the increasing of frequent international contact, people pay close attention to the cultivation of communicative competence in foreign language learning. Grammar course deserves a primary status on the curricula for English teaching reform. In order to improve students’ grammar skills, the National New English Curriculum Syllabus advocates that Task-Based Language Approach should be adopted in English classroom, which has become popular since the mid-1980 in grammar teaching. When compared with traditional teaching method, TBLA could effectively settle the existing problems in grammar teaching. Therefore, this paper is to confirm that the application of Task-based Approach has a great impact on English language teaching and learning. Based on the theory of tasked-based approach, the paper summarizes the design principles of teaching tasks, teaching process and contexts. In the end, it encourages teachers to apply Task-based approach into English grammar teaching in junior high schools.
