The main objective of this study was to establish the psychosocial profile of adolescents and adults who have admitted to committing child-to-parent violence (CPV) and were serving a judicial sanction or prison sentence, respectively. Two groups of participants took part in this study. The first group was made up of 89 male youths who were serving judicial sanctions, and the second group was made up of 70 men serving a prison sentence. A cross-sectional retrospective design with concurrent measurements was used in this study. Group differences in the exposure-to-violence variables were conducted. Automatic regression models were used to estimate a self-reported CPV. In relation to the variables of indirect exposure to violence, statistically significant differences between those who admitted having committed CPV and those who did not, irrespective of being adults or adolescents, were found for seeing violence in class and at home but not for seeing violence on the street or on television. Regarding the variables related to experiencing violence, the results showed statistically significant differences in experiencing violence at home but not in class or on the street. The best predictive model of CPV includes some of the dimensions of self-concept, specifically academic and family self-concept, as well as the avoidant and rational problem-solving styles and the negative orientation toward problems. The results have shown the existence of a CPV offender profile that is common to minors and adults.

The quality of the communicative process can rightfully be attributed to the factor of realizing the potential capabilities of the subjects of the educational process in the framework of sports activities, namely the coach and the athlete. The coach, using the appropriate means of communication, must transfer his knowledge to the athlete and thus realize his professional and personal capabilities. The athlete, in turn, perceiving instructions and information from the coach, strives for the fullest possible realization of his existing abilities. At the same time, during interpersonal interaction in the process of mastering the corresponding motor skills, the coach, in parallel and inevitably, also influences the formation of the psychological qualities of a young football player. The purpose of the work was to analyze the mechanisms and nature of the influence of the use of feedback techniques in the context of the coach's influence on the level of self-esteem and self-confidence of an athlete. Research results. The paper presents the results of theoretical analysis and generalization of practical experience regarding the possibilities of using feedback techniques. In the course of the research, verbal and non-verbal signals from the side of the coach were considered as a factor influencing the process of forming an adequate level of self-esteem and confidence in an athlete. Demonstrated the mechanism and nature of the influence of the use of feedback techniques by the trainer, depending on their positive or negative orientation. In addition, the result of the work was the substantiation of the fact that the systemic, purposeful and consistent use of feedback techniques as a means of communication in the learning process creates favorable conditions for the formation of the necessary level of confidence and the level of self-esteem of an athlete.

Abstract The present study investigates the relation between temperature and non-sensory domains conceptually close to it. Observing metaphorical extensions of the Italian basic temperature terms caldo ‘hot’ and freddo ‘cold’, individuated through a collocational analysis performed on the ItTenTen16 corpus, mental operations responsible for the association of temperature with other domains are assessed. Interestingly, many associations are first elaborated onto warmth/heat and then used to map concepts onto cold. Although conceptual associations are primarily motivated by embodiment, in some cases they stem from a shared “vertical” image-schematic structure: warmth and heat are up, while cold is down on the axis, resembling the configuration of other domains with a positive/negative orientation (e.g., good/bad). A visual representation of the semantic network of temperature highlights that domains associated with temperature are mirrored in its two poles: for instance, high and low temperature are associated, respectively, with friendliness and unfriendliness.

Abstract: The 10CB liquid crystal (LC) at the higher electric field has a negative-order parameter. The 10CB LC has a definite order that maintains smectic phase stability. 10CB LC has supported the isotropic phase stability at an elevated external electric field and exhibited an unfavorable orientation of the order parameter. At the more upper electric field, the director angle (θ) fluctuated and contained θ less than 90°. The negative orientation of the order parameter and the large absorption anisotropy enhanced the optical birefringence with a reversal of sign. The negative-order parameter responsible for the IR absorbance has increased instead of reduction. The 10CB liquid crystal is a member of the cyano biphenyl series; therefore, the dipolar strength is maximum contributed to by the C-H atom asymmetric stretching of the alkyl chain length. The 10CB LC has a large bandgap (3.60 eV). Keywords: 10CB, Electric field, Electro-optical effect, Spectroscopy, Density functional theory (DFT).

The article examines the influence of leaders and active members of negative groupings on positively characterized convicts, and proposes step-by-step measures to prevent such influence. Problems of increased public danger of criminal leaders and their negative impact positively characterized convicts rise at the state and departmental level for a long time. Describing the current state of the activities of criminal leaders in the penitentiary system of Russia, it should be noted not only their ever-increasing activity, but also the desire to create in correctional institutions of organized structures of informal power. The emerging crime situation in places of deprivation of liberty is such that many crimes are of an organized nature. Distorted ideas about universal human values are realized by them in everyday life by committing especially cruel, sophisticated crimes directed against convicts and other persons in correctional colonies, as well as in relation to the penitentiary system in general.

In recent years, the economic development of China and India and their border confrontations have intensified bilateral strategic competition. This study used the State of Democracy in South Asia survey to identify dual mindsets of competition and contingency that drive how Indians perceive China’s influence in Asia. These two mindsets are based on a cognitive schema characterized by a political predisposition against China. However, this negative orientation is moderated as more information is acquired regarding the impact of China on India. The competition mindset does not always manifest itself, and is only cognitively activated when a change is perceived in India’s power status. On the other hand, the contingent principle appears whenever competition seems to have abated, or disadvantage seems unavoidable. The mindsets of competition and contingency are not only relevant to the evolution of Sino–Indian relations, but also explain how Indian policymakers behave and respond in international society.

The article presents the results of a study of the level of development of cognitive motivation and educational and cognitive interest in younger adolescents. Features of motivation of educational activity of younger teenagers are revealed: its positive-negative orientation, conditioning of motivation by internal or external stimuli, stadiality of formation of educational motivation. The conditions for ensuring high activity in educational and cognitive activities are described. The paper notes that the motivation of educational activities is one of the main factors of its success and is a multi-component and multi-level education. Motivation of educational activity is not formed by itself, its development involves a longterm, joint activity of students and teachers, and for this purpose, schools need to constantly work to increase the level of cognitive motivation for educational activities, to activate the educational and cognitive interest of students in the classroom. It is shown that the use of the proposed universal pedagogical techniques in the lessons helps to increase the cognitive motivation for educational activities in schoolchildren. The results of the research can be used in the practical activities of teachers to develop the cognitive interest of younger adolescents and the stability of educational motives.

Social interaction of subjects in the modern world, in addition to positive forms, also has negative ones. One of such forms is information confrontation, the conceptual basis of which is to spread in the information space of the enemy unreliable information to influence the assessments, intentions, and orientation of the population and decision-makers. In this case, information becomes a more important resource than material or energy resources. The analysis of laws and properties of existence and distribution of information in the conditions of information confrontation is carried out. Based on the analysis of the above laws and studying the properties of information, the main features of the perception of information by the subjects are formulated. These are selectivity, attitude to certain information, authority (reputation), imaginary secrecy of receiving information. It is shown that on the basis of the formulated features of perception of information of subjects it is possible to create visibility of reliability of the information, and then no force will convince that it is specially made for the purpose of incorrect estimation, the negative orientation of the population and decision-makers. The main advantage of the proposed algorithm is that the parameters of information evaluation are used as a measure of the probability of propagation of inaccurate information. The degree of probability of dissemination of unreliable information is determined for each law of existence of information separately. The general estimation of the probability of distribution of unreliable information consists of the production of values of measures of each law in the person. Depending on the preference of a particular law for a particular type of information, the value of the measure will vary. That is, the proposed algorithm, in contrast to existing methods of evaluating information, additionally takes into account the type and class of information. The direction of further research: development of a scale of measures to assess the probability of spreading inaccurate information. Using as coefficients of the model the parameters of the developed scale of measures to assess the probability of propagation of inaccurate information. Creation of a mathematical model of distribution of unreliable information in the conditions of information confrontation.
