This study addresses four domains: 1) description of Role Playing learning model use as a learning strategy in Biology instructional process at school, 2) perspectives and threats obtained by teachers at school when addressing Protein Synthesis topic 3) Role Playing learning model in Protein Synthesis topic of Biology learning, 4) the influence of Role Playing learning model towards motivation and Biology learning outcome. The results of this study is teacher needs analysis instruments, analysed using descriptive qualitative. The study showes that the use of Role Playing Instructional Model during Biology learning process has not been performed at school according to three reasons: 1) obstacles obtained when addressing the topic which is difficult to observe, 2) the difficulties obtained when addressing Protein Synthesis topic, in this case, teacher needs to apply Role Playing instructional Model to engage students with their environment, 3) Role Playing as an instructional model that demands students to learn from their experience in order to motivate and improve their learning outcomes.

This research is aiming at giving a contribution to the lecturers’ knowledge on the design materials in using social media Facebook in teaching writing process to English Department students. Before conducted the developing module for Facebook-based writing instructional course, we surveyed and explored the student’s need. The stages of this research consisted of need analysis and document analysis. We conducted needs analysis to 141 English students and 2 lecturers of writing. Data were collected using need analysis questionnaire and interview. The analyzed documents in this research were lesson plan, syllabus and the existing textbooks. The data from questionnaire and interview were analyzed in quantitative and qualitative methods. The results concluded that: first, needs analysis is the basic of developing module for Facebook-based writing instructional course, in order that the material can be related to the students’ needs, levels and lecturers’ perception. The result of students need found urgent to develop module for facebook-based writing instructional course through the following criteria of interactive, self-contained, user friendly, online supporting, online social media, authentic, environmentally friendly, formal and informal environments, online evaluation, presented in visual  aids, support  and facilitate the students’  academic and non-academic writing activities, topics of the materials should be interesting which provides a cultural background of students, the materials should be implemented by applying vocabulary, reading texts, grammar and basic skills in writing process, implemented in beginner level (Writing 1), used in class and out- class and the materials globally/ international context. Second, the lecturers’ desires in teaching writing are to improve the students’ skill to comprehend the materials. Third, the existing materials are unsuitable for the students, they prefer learning facilitated by electronic social media, Facebook, so they will more motivate in write.

<p>This study aimed at designing a model of instructional materials for Academic Writing Course focusing on research paper writing. The model was designed based on the Curriculum at the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Art Education of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, East Java, Indonesia. This model was developed in order to improve students’ skill in writing research paper which is one of the prerequisite tasks before graduating from university. The steps of this research and development consist of needs analysis, document analysis, model design, model development, and model experimentation. The researchers conducted needs analysis to the fifth semester students and three academic writing teachers, in order to generate information dealing with the students’ needs in academic writing course materials. The needs analysis and documents analysis were dug up through questionnaire, interview, and discussion among students and academic writing teachers. The documents analyzed in this study were syllabus, lesson plan, and the existing textbook. The model design used is derived from Borg and Gall (1983) and Sukmadinata (2008), in which there are four steps, i.e. (1) exploration phase; (2) model development phase; (3) model experimentation phase; and (4) dissemination and model implementation phase. The results of needs analysis questionnaire reveal that students need to be taught how to write academic writing in terms of journal article since it will be the final project of the students at the end of their study in university. Instructional materials with different strategies focused on research paper writing are needed by the students.</p>

This study aims to investigate the needs of students and lecturers in writing instructions using the process genre approach. Besides, this research is also based on facts which reveal that decision making on learning objectives is only taken from the curriculum and syllabus review used. But unfortunately, the preference of students and lecturers for learning needs is actually ignored. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. The number of participants in this study was 3 Indonesian language lecturers and 65 students at the State Islamic University of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The participants of the students were selected by using a purposive random sampling technique. The results showed that the need for a writing learning model design using the process genre approach. Specifically, the findings of this study include several aspects needed by students and lecturers, namely: (1) a comprehensive learning approach involving students, colleagues, and lecturers, (2) writing assessment must cover broader aspects, and (3) the need for publication as part of the writing activity. Furthermore, the syntax in the learning model based on the needs analysis is: (1) recognize the form of the text, (2) analyze the text, (3) discuss the text, (4) write the text independently, (5) finalize the text, and (6) publish the text.

<p>The research was distributed by the demands of professional teachers in carrying out the mandate to develop and implement creative and productive learning involving learners as well as their role actively. The learning process that facilitates the needs of learners and of innovative designed will be able to create an atmosphere of learning fun and meaningful for learners. Especially for geography teachers who want to create a geography learning with fun and meaningful then must master the application of model-based learning environment. This initial research is the study of the introduction in the form of needs analysis in the development of a prototype model of learning geography-based environment for creating school fun. Needs analysis is done to strengthen basic product development model so that the expected results have great benefits for teachers. In the needs analysis will be known the level of understanding of the geography teacher in Surakarta City against the application of the model of learning geography-based environment. This learning model of product development done because of early observations of known low learning motivation of the learners follow learning geography in school.</p><p>The research method used was Research and Development version of the Borg and Gall. Phases of this research is the first step of the model of Research and Development. At this stage of the preliminary study it, researchers attempted to dig in depth about the perception, skill, and the suitability of the curriculum learning focussed experiences related to the geography-based environment for creating school fun. Engineering data collection done by interview and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and geography teachers in the city of Surakarta.</p><p>From research conducted, produced conclusions that: 1) the perception of teachers in understanding the concept of geography-based learning model development environment is already good enough. Teachers describe teaching experience by leveraging the model-based learning environment. 2) teacher skills in teaching using model-based geography learning environment is already quite good, though there is still that have not been put into practice appropriate procedures systematically. This has an impact on the learning process becomes not interesting for learners. 3) Utilizing the geography learning resource in the form of an environment capable of answering the demands of the scientific approach to skills achievement Curriculum on 2013.</p><p> </p>

This study aims to find out how the learning model of moodle-based academic writing in Indonesian subjects required by students at Sriwijaya University in terms of students and lecturers. The method used in this study is research and development (Research and Development as proposed by Borg and Gall.Teknik data collection in the analysis of this need is a questionnaire, library review, interviews, and focus group discussion.The results show first, an instructional model of academic writing in the Moodle-based Indonesian language should refer to the Signs of Group Work Subjects Personality development in universities, the principle -The principle of learning based on KKNI, the principle of learning to write, and the principle of learning E-Learning.Second, the results showed that the shortcomings contained in the learning of academic writing in Indonesian language courses caused this lesson does not refer to Student Group Conduct Signs Personality development in universities, principles of learning based on KKNI, and the principle of learning to write maximally In addition, most lecturers do not use E-Learning learning that has been facilitated by the university. Third, the results of the study show that the learning model of academic writing in Indonesian language is needed is a learning model that applies the principles of learning in accordance with KKNI, the principles of learning to write, and the principles of E-Learning learning by adapting to the characteristics of the language courses Indonesia for college. Meanwhile, Rambu-Rambu Group Implementation Course Development of personality in universities must be adjusted in order to meet the needs of students in academic writing learning in universities.

This study aims to analyze whether or not modules need to be developed with a match-match learning model based on Digital Daily Assessment. This research is a defining stage in development research, carried out by distributing needs analysis questionnaires to students and teachers in Paramitha Islamic Middle School Malang. Based on the results of the questionnaire showed that the module needs to be developed with a Match Daily model based on Digital Daily Assistance.
