Industry plays a crucial role in solving current problems, namely: the accelerated development of industry, is a generator of scientific and technological progress and innovation, an important factor in the global competitiveness of national economies and a driver of economic growth. Therefore, increasing attention to the development of industry and industrial policy is one of the main trends in the modern world economy. The purpose of the paper – to analyze the sustainable development of industrial enterprises of Ukraine from the standpoint of security, using a system-structural approach. Methodology. The concept of sustainable development is a management structure that contains a general system view of the ways of transition from the current position of the object of management to the desired, includes the following steps: defining the structure of sustainable development; defining the boundaries of safe existence; identification of the level of sustainability of supply chains; identification of imbalances of sustainable development; to substantiate the methodical approach to estimating the level of sustainability of supply chains of industrial enterprises with the use of economic and mathematical tools; determining the impact of threats and developing institutional measures. The results of the study revealed disparities in sustainable development at the level of economic, social and environmental security of the enterprise, at the level of subordinate components and at the level of indicators that determine the list of major threats, which are calculated indicators of social and economic components of sustainable development. To determine the severity of the impact of threats, the coefficients of elasticity of each component and indicator on the integrated index of sustainable development were calculated and ranked, which is the necessary information for the development of priority measures. Practical implications. The dynamics of deviations of current values of integrated indices from their average optimal values determines the importance of threats to the components of sustainable development. Almost all of these industrial enterprises are characterized by complete neglect of the social status of employees, which inhibits economic growth and makes it impossible to develop domestic demand. Under such conditions, the issue of digitalization of business becomes relevant. The digitalization of business has received considerable attention from both academia and the business community, which define digitalization as a focused effort of companies to actively use digital technologies at all levels to optimize internal processes and modify the overall business model. Value/originality. The obtained strategic guidelines of key macro indicators, which together with the strategic values of indicators are the ultimate goal of sustainable development regulation, which can be monitored through monitoring to monitor the implementation of the Development Strategy and evaluate the policy of enterprise management.

This scientific work analyzes the current state and problems of implementing the concept of sustainable development in industrial regions, in particular, in Poland and Ukraine. Emphasis is placed on slowing down the implementation of the main provisions of this doctrine, in particular, the violation of environmental requirements and non-compliance with ecological standards by industrial enterprises. The aim of the article is to find effective innovative tools for intensifying the process of implementing the strategy of sustainable development in industrial regions. The paper uses theoretical methods—analysis and synthesis, formalization, hypothetical-deductive modeling, mental modeling, systematization and generalization—as well as empirical: observation, description and comparison. The main result of the work is the substantiation of the scientific idea that the implementation of a sustainable development strategy in industrial regions is possible by intensifying the process of ecological marketing through the use of new information and communication technologies (ICT) and their innovative tools—methodologies, digital systems, the Internet, cloud technologies, and systems of product design, manufacture and sale—due to accelerated communication links. The authors’ approach to the development of the mechanism of creation and functioning of the single information space (field) of the ecological marketing of the industrial region is offered in this work, and also, the classification of modern ICT and their tools, which it is expedient to use in this mechanism, is carried out. Their purpose and the expected results from the introduction of ecological products for market research, the development of ecological technologies for the life cycles of ecological products and, thus, the impact on the acceleration of sustainable development in industrial regions are determined.

The article reveals the concept of sustainable development of an enterprise, defines its usefulness in the context of developing a control mechanism in the enterprise management system. It has been established that the concept of sustainable development of an enterprise should be based on the interaction of three key components: the economic component, the social component and the environmental component. It has been proven that the main basis of sustainable development is, first of all, the flexibility of the enterprise management system. It was determined that the concept of sustainable development of an enterprise should be based on the principle of balance, the principle of purposefulness, the principle of ensuring sustainability, the principle of adaptability, the principle of dynamism, the principle of integrity and environmental motivation. It was found that the effective application of the concept of sustainable development of enterprises in practice is often impossible due to the complicated implementation of the sustainable development strategy. The financial activity of enterprises in Ukraine is analyzed by the main types of economic activity. It was found that the indicator of the general financial result (balance) to taxation of enterprises in 2019 against 2016 increased by 19,3 times, in 2020 it decreased by 54,4 % compared to the previous year. It was determined that the activity of agricultural, forestry and fishing enterprises was profitable for the analyzed period, however, in 2020, compared to the beginning of the analyzed period, the financial result (balance) before taxation decreased by 9,8 %. Profitable for the study period was the activity of wholesale and retail trade enterprises, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and financial and insurance enterprises. At the same time, the unstable dynamics of changes in the financial indicator (balance) before taxation occurred in the activities of industrial enterprises, construction enterprises, transport enterprises and warehousing enterprises, postal and courier activities, and temporary accommodation and catering enterprises. It is noted that the prospects for further research in this direction are the analysis of the components of sustainable development of enterprises from the point of view of a practical approach to their analysis.

Despite the commonly observed trend towards mechanization and automation of operational processes, the potential benefits of wooden pallets as an essential element of the infrastructure of logistic processes are often overlooked in considerations related to sustainable development. Aspects that are mentioned more often include the very idea of the economy itself (circular economy), characteristics of logistics (green), features of the supply chain itself (sustainable) or expectations towards transport (ecological). The authors believe that the idea of total cost of ownership (TCO) in relation to wooden pallets can be a key component of holistic thinking in terms of sustainable development. In a situation where in relation to logistics, reasonable expectations for developing sustainable supply chains are made, paying attention to such a common logistic facility, namely a cargo pallet, which is given so little attention in research, is, in the opinion of the authors, absolutely justified. Therefore, the article presents an original approach to the problem of aggregation of all costs that cargo pallets generate in their operational life cycle, using the total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis methodology. The main goal of the article, however, is to show that the total cost of ownership of a pallet (not only owning it) can become an effective tool used to significantly reduce the costs of logistic activity of enterprises (as well as whole supply chains) and support the idea of sustainable development in practice. Using the primary data from questionnaire research, the focus was on considerations that were of identification character (cognitive and explanatory considerations), which are typical for basic research that aims to explain given phenomena. Thus, the presented cognitive process covers two main areas, namely: the general theory of sustainable development and the specificity of wooden pallets as carriers used in goods trading in terms of their total costs of ownership.

The Sustainable Development Strategy implies a targeted long-term process that affects economic, social, environmental and institutional aspects of life. The goal is to meet the social and economic interests of citizens, reduce poverty, reduce unemployment and gender inequalities and reduce negative impacts on natural resources and the environment, resulting in long-term economic growth with economic efficiency, technology and innovation. Accordingly, in 2015, the United Nations adopted Resolution A / RES / 70/1 - Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, based on three dimensions of sustainable development: economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection. At the end of the 20th century, parallel with the theory of development, which turned into the concept of sustainable development, there was globalization that integrated the entire world regions in order to gain as strong economic and financial positions as possible on the world stage. Today, Serbia is not in a position to choose whether to engage in modern globalization processes, but it must continue the initiated transitional reforms and accession to the European Union, regardless of the economic, political or environmental consequences. By implementing national policies, Serbia should aim at national and economic sovereignty, which will further influence sustainable development. Only by changing the current economic policy, by creating a national strategy based on the exploitation of domestic economic and industrial potentials, by reducing unemployment, social responsibility and individual freedom, economic growth and sustainable development can be achieved. This work, besides the introduction, consists of materials based on the presentation of the sustainable development strategy of the Republic of Serbia and also presents the results and discussion that draft the current situation with possible solutions to achieve sustainable development in the future. Finally, the final ratifications are provided.

Excessive use of goods and services and industrialization progress of 20th century depleted resources and emerged the sustainable development as the main target of the policymakers, but past experiences and consequences of rapid economic growth of 20th century showed that there must be a change in the policies. Alleviating of poverty with inequalities and hunger in a degraded environment is needing sustainable cities and communities that have decent work for economic growth. In this context, perhaps, there must be a change in the economic paradigm beyond a policy change. Collaborative consumption is this new economic paradigm that has changed the understanding of the economic system. This new economic paradigm is depending on the sharing of idle resources with or without a fee that changed the importance of asset ownership. The main aim of this chapter is to present the impact of collaborative consumption on the 10 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.

The impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in terms of Sustainable Development (SD) has led to a great transformation in business management, which positions innovation as an essential element of differentiation for the new market conquest. These ICT, that are particularly adapted, allow creating value for the company in a sustainable way and more aligned with the global SD strategy while ensuring to bring competitive advantage and anticipate new economic, social and environmental problems. To implement an innovation approach that gives organizations the means to develop sustainable management strategies, allowing them to increase overall performance, we proposed the "ICT Sustainable Management" model which is designed according to a Green IT (GIT) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concepts in order to seek new transition ways for management serving SD. Our model constitutes a first research step to lead reflection on next-generation SD-oriented management models. For this reason, we consider it more appropriate to approve the validity of our model through its application on different categories of companies that use ICT. Analysis of the results of this application test has demonstrated the validity of our model at the scale of five companies. This initial validation will be supported by improvements and new tests that will be extremely useful to improve the model and to advance knowledge in this new field of research.

The health crisis at COVID-19 resulted in damage to human life and inevitable economic consequences, requiring immediate responses from governments. In this context, this work carried out an analysis on the Federal Development Strategy of Brazil, 2020 – 2031 in light of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Exploratory methodology was used and descriptive research was used to analyze and interpret the facts, in order to develop concepts and ideas needed to formulate new approaches on the same topic. Thus, an examination was carried out on the actions of economic recovery, according to the Federal Decree, which listed five axes to increase the income and quality of life of the Brazilian population, aiming at sustained economic growth and job creation. This work was complemented with the exploration of the results presented in the V Light Report of Civil Society Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development Brazil, which studied the fulfillment of the goals of Agenda 2030 in Brazil, by the Federal Government. The results achieved showed that the economic growth in the country, today and for the next few years, lacks a national articulation with clear guidelines and defined scopes, whose achievement of the goals established by the UN-SDGs will take place without stagnation and setbacks. The contribution of this study is the urgent need to look at the 2030 Agenda, to ensure social inclusion and sustainable development in Brazil.
