scholarly journals IoT Based Smart Home for Paralyzed Patients through Eye Blink

Newly designed high-tech devices are implanted in the patient's body to helphim or her resume daily activities. Especially paralysis patients, such as tetraplegics, who suffer greatly due to their physical limitations. It is now critical to create a device that can assist paralysis patients such as tetraplegics. Furthermore, people are eager to digitize their everyday lives in order to reduce physical activity. To meet these criteria, it's past time to create a framework that can assist Tetraplegic patients as well as those who want to live a more productive and relaxed life. After much research in the lab and on the internet, we came up with the idea of creating a device that would allow an individual to control any appliance they use in their daily lives with less physical effort. We came up with an idea for creating such a device that we can use to automate our home electrical appliances by blinking our eyes. While several prototypes have been developed in the past, the majority of them are not user-friendly or provide creative solutions. The project's goal is to create a home automation device based on an eye blink sensor that is small in size and easy to use to power home electricity appliances. This will also help to minimize energy waste and enable a paralyzed patient to regulate light and fans without the need for assistance from others. The constant demand to enhance the everyday living conditions of paralyzed patients and people in general serves as a catalyst for newer technology growth. Smaller smart devices are now able to perform functions that were previously done by large conventional computers. The creation of the flickering sensor, which is used in robotic home designs for people with disabilities, is discussed in this article. This sensor can distinguish between intentional and accidental blinking, which allows paralyzed patients, especially quadriplegics, to organize their home devices without assistance. Furthermore, this system is equipped with a Bluetooth module, allowing the patient to receive alerts and updates without having to remove the device from his or her body. This saves a lot of energy and is simple to install in household appliances. Our system is a solution for paralysis patients who choose to use their eye blinks to control different electric devices and peripherals. Our system will detect the patient's deliberate blinks, decode the signal using a predefined algorithm, and then operate the specified device according to the instructions. To summarize, working with the Arduino Nano and various sensors was a fantastic experience that taught us a lot of useful information. Our initiative will primarily benefit paralysispatients and the elderly. Though we are considering a prototype for the project, our concept has been implemented and tested, but in order to implement it in the real world, many more modifications and equipment are needed. One of the main goals of our project was to assist patients in making their lives simpler, and our system will be complete until we can put it to use in real life and support people.

SummaryBackground Hypertension or high blood pressure is on the rise. Not only does it affect the elderly but is also increasingly spreading to younger sectors of the population. Treating this condition involves exhaustive monitoring of patients. The current mobile health services can be improved to perform this task more effectively. Objective To develop a useful, user-friendly, robust and efficient app, to monitor hypertensive patients and adapted to the particular requirements of hypertension. Methods This work presents BPcontrol, an Android and iOS app that allows hypertensive patients to communicate with their health-care centers, thus facilitating monitoring and diagnosis. Usability, robustness and efficiency factors for BPcontrol were evaluated for different devices and operating systems (Android, iOS and system-aware). Furthermore, its features were compared with other similar apps in the literature. Results BPcontrol is robust and user-friendly. The respective start-up efficiency of the Android and iOS versions of BPcontrol were 2.4 and 8.8 times faster than a system-aware app. Similar values were obtained for the communication efficiency (7.25 and 11.75 times faster for the Android and iOS respectively). When comparing plotting performance, BPcontrol was on average 2.25 times faster in the Android case. Most of the apps in the literature have no communication with a server, thus making it impossible to compare their performance with BPcontrol. Conclusions Its optimal design and the good behavior of its facilities make BPcontrol a very promising mobile app for monitoring hypertensive patients.Citation: Carrera A, Pifarré M, Vilaplana J, Cuadrado J, Solsona S, Mateo J, Solsona F.     The most interesting in electronic games by children let psychologists and experts to study these games and their impact on their users from different perspectives. It has two sides of effects. They have positive aspects that appear in many aspects of the child's life. Besides the education that the child acquires through increasing the concepts، information and skills development، they develop intelligence and speed of thinking. Many games contain puzzles and need mental skills to solve them. On the planning and initiative، and saturation of the imagination of the child in an unprecedented manner، and increase its activity and vitality، and become a high knowledge of modern technology، and good to deal with and use and dedicated to his benefit. It also encourages children to devise creative solutions to adapt to and adapt to the conditions of the game، and extend their impact to the practical reality; it enables him to apply some of the skills he gained through playing on the ground in real life. But on the personal level it develops the child's violence and the sense of crime because the large proportion of these games depends on the child's amusement and enjoyment of killing others، and teach adolescents methods and methods of committing the crime and tricks، As they develop in their minds violence and aggression through the frequent exercise of such games، the result is a violent and aggressive child. These games also make the child live in isolation from others، and the ultimate goal is to satisfy his desires to play. Thus، the child's self-centered personality، self-love and introversion are formed and affected the communities that are widespread. The rate of murder and theft has increased As well as moral crimes، and these games have also been shown to affect the general health of the child in the long term; it leads to the injury of many health diseases and mental disorders، and playing for long periods of the child has the behavior of alcoholism Aloswasi.

Energy is an essential component in supporting people’s daily lives and is a significant economical element in development of the country. The eventual depletion of conventional energy resources and their harmful impacts on environment as well as the rising energy costs and the limitations of new energy resources and technologies have pushed efficient energy management to the top of the agenda. Hereditary angioedema (HAE) due to C1-inhibitor (C1-INH) deficiency is a rare disease characterized by recurrent swellings. This study aims to determine (i) the clinical characteristics of the HAE patient population from Poland, and (ii) real-life patients’ treatment practices. A cross-sectional study involved 138 adult HAE patients (88 females, 50 males) treated in six regional HAE centers in Poland. Consecutive patients during routine follow-up visits underwent a structured medical interview on the clinical characteristics of the course and treatment of HAE attacks within the last six months. A total of 118 of 138 patients was symptomatic. They reported in total 2835 HAE attacks predominantly peripheral and abdominal, treated with plasma-derived C1-INH (61.4%), icatibant (36.7%) and recombinant C1-INH (1.9%). An amount of 116 patients carried the rescue medication with them while traveling, and 74 patients self-administrated on demand treatment. There were twice as many symptomatic women (n = 78) as there were men (n = 40). Women treated their HAE attacks significantly more often than men. Older patients (≥65 years) reported a longer delay in diagnosis, and practiced the self-administration of rescue medication less frequently in comparison to other patients. Clinical features of the surveyed population are similar to other European, but not Asian, HAE patient groups. Self-administration still remains an unmet medical need. Some distinct HAE patients may require special attention due to the severe course of the disease (females) or a delay in diagnosis (the elderly).

Drowning is a global problem, and is among the main causes of death in the world, and the elderly are part of this new reality as a special group who also suffer submersion accidents. The aim of this study was to analyze deaths due to drowning in the elderly in the state of Paraíba from 2005 to 2015. This is a retrospective, descriptive study associated with spatial analysis of regions with a higher incidence of drowning in people aged 60 years or older in the state of Paraíba. Data were collected from the IML (Gemol and Numol) records from 2005 to 2015, totaling 80 cases of drowning. Sociodemographic characteristics such as age group, gender, spatiality and local description of the occurrence (rivers, dams, sea, waterfall, cacimbas, dams and domestic environments), care provider, file of the Legal Medical Institute of the Scientific Police, international code of diseases – ICD 10 (code W74), shift of occurrence. As results we located the region of Mari sector of the wild region of Paraíba – Açude Olho D’agua (Latitude 7.11º S and Longitude 35.2º ), was the place with the highest number of drownings, where dams/lakes (55%), male (91%), married (46%), aged between 60 and 69 years (60%), the local population made the first care (41%), 14h was of higher occurrence (11%), and on Sundays (29%). We can conclude that drowning occurs in several aquatic scenarios, and in this study occurred in fresh water, several factors were associated with drowning in the elderly, such as cognition deficits, polypharmaceuticals and physical limitations, such outcomes can help encourage protection policies for this group as well as family members guide in freshwater regions and accentuate care.
