Vulnerability is a concept often used in bioethics. However, it is seldom interrogated from a queer point of view. By queer inquiry, I refer to an umbrella understanding of gender and sexuality as diverse. In this article I discuss lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex -related (LGBTQI) approaches to vulnerability. Framing these discussions from queer and LGBTQI bioethical theory, I offer an original approach to vulnerability based on queer bioethics and on a layered understanding of vulnerability. After considering queer bioethics and its (queer) critiques, I conclude that a layered understanding of vulnerability has strong potential for analyzing LGBTQI/queer vulnerabilities in bioethics. For further research, I formulate four layers of queer vulnerabilities to demonstrate some of that potential. I call these the layer of ethical sustainability, the layer of queer agency, the layer of interrogatory intimacy, and the layer of troubled kinship. I insist all layers should be critically evaluated and developed further with intersectional approaches. Keywords: vulnerability; LGBTQI; queer bioethics; queer-feminist anthropology of vulnerability; layers of queer vulnerabilities

Problems of ensuring the safe operation of an aircraft from the point of view of the fatigue life of its structure are considered. The relevance of the creation and implementation of diagnostic systems for monitoring the technical condition of structures of complex technical objects is shown on the example of a helicopter. An original approach to the creation and implementation of complex systems for diagnostics and monitoring of the technical condition of complex technical objects is presented, combining fiber-optic measuring technology and phase-chronometric method. It is shown that the use of monitoring and diagnostic systems ensures the transition to operation based on the actual technical condition. The proposed approach makes it possible to increase the time between overhaul intervals and reduce excess reserves in terms of the reliability factors of structures, which increases the flight performance of aircraft.

The processes of fermentation, accompanied by the growth and development of several species of microorganisms, are often accompanied by a change of some species of microorganisms for anothers , such a complex "behavior" of microorganisms during fermentation needs to be be deeply researched. The previously used approaches of evaluation of the type of interaction of particulate monocultures in consortiums make it possible to obtain only qualitative results (synergistic, antagonistic, additive interaction) generally, without taking into the consideration the change of this interaction during the cultivation. The purpose of the research was the development of a new approach of the quantitative determination of the parameter of the interaction of microorganisms of one species with another species expressed as a continuous function determined throughout the all fermentation period. In the process of the work a two-component consortium of lactic acid microorganisms Lactobacillus brevis and Lactobacillus plantarum was selected, cultivated in two different model media as part of a study of directed fermentation of vegetable products. The work the cultivation of monocultures (included in the studied consortium) was also carried out. The performed work the original approach was developed, the approach is based on a comparison of the growth rate of the microorganisms biomass of the consortium with the calculated additive dynamics. This approach is convenient to use to identify a complex regularity of changes of the types of interaction of microorganisms in the consortium in the form of a continuous function determined during the entire cultivation period. From the point of view of the synergies of the species of microorganisms entering the studied consortium in the active phase of fermentation, the "Slava" variety turned to be more profitable than the "Parus".

The dictionary-textbook being analyzed has no analogues in the literature for teaching Russian to foreigners. It is based on zoomorphic images of wild animals in Russian language consciousness. The original approach realized by the authors in presenting the linguistic material, tasks and exercises was considered from the point of view of methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Abstract This essay opens new perspectives on the Cuban Revolution by considering its global impact through the lens of gender and sexuality. This framework provides important new insights into the rise of the New Left and the anticommunist Right by centering ideas of gender, sexuality, and the family. Locating the Cuban Revolution alongside other contemporary struggles against racism and imperialism, the essay argues that gender and sexuality were crucial terrains of struggle that demonstrate the complexity of the Cold War in the Global South. Moreover, this point of view challenges long-standing perceptions of revolutionary Cuba as “isolated” by showing how the island precipitated and was embedded in transnational networks and flows of people and ideas, including solidarity campaigns, military missions, and forms of cultural diplomacy.

Her TV success as "poet of children" is opposed by her ignorance as "poet of adults" and her lack of claim for ideologies or movements that naturally should have been done (feminism, antimilitarism, lesbianism...). One of the constants that cheer her work up is her radical pacifism, not negotiable, and her work constitutes one of the most extensive examples of compromise to the achievement of the peace and denunciation of the violence and those who promote it. Her empathy with those who suffer and her point of view placed place her in a position which we call "secular beguine", what contributes to an original approach about the work of this great Madrid poet of the twentieth Century.</p>

Semiotics applied to translation studies produces an original approach that is generating scientific texts of high interest. On the other side, the notion of “translation” in a broad sense appears very important within semiotics itself, as in Ch. Peirce’s and J. Lotman’s thought. Distinguishing between translation studies’ influences on semiotics and semiotics’ influence on translation studies becomes increasingly difficult. In this article a synthesis is tried: the Soviet film ‘Strogij Yunosha’ is analyzed using the tools of both disciplines. At first the concept of “strange” is analyzed from a semiotic point of view, looking also for etymological reasons to classify strangeness as simple difference or as inimicality. Then cultural implicit is considered as the problem of mediation between Self and Other, both in a collective and in an individual (psychological) sense. The ways of relating to the Other are then considered in the light of a systemic approach to the cultural polysystem, in which the least unit or subsystem is the individual. The film is then decomposed in many “worlds”, and their borders and relations are viewed in the light of the aforementioned approaches. Such translatological analysis of the film allows to hypothesize why it was banned from the Soviet regime.

Whilst often adopting a feminist perspective, the literature on gender and migration has often neglected to consider the production of knowledge from this point of view. It has left unarticulated the assumptions and concerns about gender and gender relations that underpin scientific knowledge claims about female migration. The aim of the paper is to problematize the dominant paradigms in contemporary studies and how these paradigms manifest the tension between knowledge produced in the core countries and those produced in the semiperiphery. In doing this, we offer a critical review of the broader field of feminist migration studies using the concept of ?gender knowledge? in order to identify some of the omissions and neglected topics in the field of migration studies - such as a de-emphasis on gender and sexuality, or on the intersectional interplay of gender with other dimensions of inequality, an over-focus on quantitative approaches, and a neglect to consider migrants? agency which comes as a result of unexamined methodological nationalism and methodological sexism. The paper shows the importance of the geographical, political, social and cultural contextualisation of the production of knowledge and the relevance of problematizing the connection between knowledge drawn from the semi-periphery and that drawn from the core. The paper does this through a discussion of particular cases of migration for domestic and care work and the development of gender-focussed approaches to migration studies in Serbia.

This article explores new pathways of understanding the theological doctrine of tawḥīd from a Sufi theological perspective. It is evident that Sufism has expanded the inherent meaning of tawḥīd from the relatively simple idea of the Oneness of God to the philosophically complex phenomenon that reality is best expressed through an absolute unity of all existence. Instead of engaging in a dialogue about this important doctrinal principle with only written texts, this article intends to combine both traditional sources but also the actual voice of one contemporary Sufi practitioner. This original approach aims to circumvent the tendency of a top-down approach to the study of religion, provide a grassroots perspective, and a concrete example of how a theoretical concept can be practically manifested in the life of ordinary believers. Such a contribution is important, for it adds to wider empirical studies of Sufism a localized example that underlines the importance of investigating religion not merely through written texts, but also by a nuanced exploration from the point of view of spiritual seekers themselves. Since Sufis ultimately embark on a spiritual journey and long to attain proximity to God, abstract theory must be met with experiential satisfaction.

Ecological awareness and economic analysis force industry to decrease the weight of transportation vehicles and to achieve a higher product quality with a reduction of production costs [1]. Lightweight constructions made out of Tailored Blanks (TBs) and advanced manufacturing technologies, like sheet metal Hydromechanical Deep Drawing (HDD), help to reach these goals [1]. From this point of view, HDD techniques have been largely accepted by the industry [2] for the production of components characterized by: complex shapes, good surface quality and small residual stress. In this work, starting from previous studies of the same authors about hydroformed components with a redrawing area [3] [4], an original approach based on Thickness Percentage Reduction (TPR) distribution has been implemented to design a particular TBs for HDD applications. Numerical and experimental results about the studied test case have been allowed the verification of their correlation as well as the necessary reliability of the implemented process simulation methodology.

The term geo-sciences has been used here to include the disciplines geology, geophysics and geochemistry. However, in order to apply geophysics and geochemistry effectively one must begin with a geological model. Therefore, the science of geology should be used as the basis for lunar exploration. From an astronomical point of view, a lunar terrain heavily impacted with meteors appears the more reasonable; although from a geological standpoint, volcanism seems the more probable mechanism. A surface liberally marked with volcanic features has been advocated by such geologists as Bülow, Dana, Suess, von Wolff, Shaler, Spurr, and Kuno. In this paper, both the impact and volcanic hypotheses are considered in the application of the geo-sciences to manned lunar exploration. However, more emphasis is placed on the volcanic, or more correctly the defluidization, hypothesis to account for lunar surface features.
