The aim of the research is to analyze the characteristics of experimental circular-type deflector nozzles installed as rain-forming devices on a new wide-grip circular sprinkler machine developed at the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution «RosNIIPM» obtained during laboratory field trials. In this case, circular-type baffle nozzles with nozzle diameters, mm, were used: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14. The maximum irrigation radius of a circulartype baffle nozzle (for various nozzle diameters) at a maximum pressure equal to 0.3 MPa lies in the range of 2.6–11.5 m. Processing of the experimental data made it possible to obtain the dependences of the irrigation radius of circular-type deflector nozzles on the head and nozzle diameter and average droplet diameter on nozzle and head flow rate, which will allow the selection of the necessary circular-type deflector nozzles at the installation height of 2.7 m Thus, the developed nozzles provide a uniform distribution of irrigation water over the irrigation area, and the average diameter of rain drops can be attributed to the fine-structured one, which ensures the fulfillment of agrotechnical requirements.

This article was prepared for the 120th anniversary of the Kazan Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. The paper describes the main stages of the institutes development since its founding as the Kazan Bacteriological Institute at Kazan University in 1900. Until 2005, the institute belonged to the system of the Ministry of Health, and later, among 28 Federal State Institutions of Science, it entered the Rospotrebnadzor system. The information on priority research and the contribution of the institute to the achievements of domestic health care and the federal service for supervision in the field of consumer protection over the 120-year history of its activity are presented. The data on ongoing research and development, development prospects also are presented. The article was prepared using documents from the archives of Kazan Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Kazan Medical University and Kazan Federal University, the National Archives of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the memoirs of employees of the Kazan Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology.

In the second half of the last century, the budget-forming industry of the agroindustrial complex of the Checheno-Ingush Republic - viticulture, had great success: in some years, gross grape output reached 100 thousand tons; the total area of vineyards reached 30 thousand hectares; wide sections of the rural population were provided with work in 54 wine-growing farms of 7 administrative districts. Along with the leading role of the state, science, represented by the leading scientific institutions of the country, also provided invaluable assistance in the development of this industry. Among them the former All-Soviet National Research Institute Viticulture and Winemaking ”Magarach” (now Federal State Institution of Science ”Russian National Research Institute Viticulture and Winemaking ”Magarach” RAS”) took a worthy place. The article provides material that reveals the role of this institute in solving a number of production issues and problems that arose before the industry in certain periods of time. It is shown that thanks to the close cooperation of scientists and production workers, against the background of a unified state policy, effective solutions were achieved in one or another direction of its development. In particular, it concerns the improvement of the grape assortment, the solution of the phylloxera problem, the production of environmentally friendly products, etc. It is concluded that at present, for the sustainable development of viticulture of the Republic, it is necessary to renew ties with scientists from the Magarach Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking, and in general to strengthen further links between science and production.
