The building of an online survey instrument involves sophisticated understandings of the research context, research design, research questions, and other elements. A lesser observed need is to consider what types of data analytics will be applied to the findings. With beginning-to-end online survey research suites, it becomes all the more necessary to think through the process from beginning to end in order to create an instrument that achieves all the necessary aims of the research. After all, improper online survey instrument designs will result in makework when it comes time to analyze data and will foreclose on particular data analytics opportunities. (Such instruments also will not have second or third uses after the first one-off.) This chapter explores how to build an effective online survey instrument to enable a quantitative cross tabulation analysis with the built-in analysis Qualtrics.

In this study the authors adopted a post-positivist research design philosophy to explore the likelihood that Americans would support extreme self-defense policies like torture, reducing human rights or banning Muslims to fight against global terrorism, especially after 9/11 and in light of the Trump conservative government. The authors grounded their research questions into the literature to form hypotheses in a correlational design strategy which they tested using nonparametric statistics. They collected opinions from 3213 Americans during 2016-2017 about applying extreme self-defense tactics to combat global terrorism and how these opinions contrasted between those holding a conservative versus liberal or other individualistic socio-political ideology. The surprising results were that American citizens did not unanimously endorse banning Muslims (only 30% supported the policy and 6% were undecided) but the majority (51%) of participants sanctioned torture as a self-defense to combat global terrorism.

This chapter introduces the various design choices researchers need to decide on prior to conducting the study. The chapter starts with a detailed description of what research design is, followed by an explanation of descriptive, explanatory, or exploratory research questions. This determines what type of data will be collected. The major strategic implementation methods for quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods are then discussed. The three strategies for mixed methods research—parallel convergent, sequential, and embedded design—are presented in detail along with the rationale for their use. Finally, in the last section, the strands or sequencing of the data collection phase of the study are explained.

Abstract Indonesian society's interest in complementary or traditional therapy is increasing. The frequency of utilization of complementary alternative therapies is increasing rapidly throughout the world. The result of Susenas (2007) shows Indonesians who complain of pain within the month before the 30.90% survey. Of the residents who complained of illness, the largest percentage (65.01%) chose their own treatment using traditional medicines and / or drugs. The use of traditional medicine in self-medication efforts has steadily increased from 15.2% to 38.3% over the course of 7 years from 2000-2006 (Supardi, S and Andi Leny, 2010)  The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the use of herbal medicine to facilitate the expansion of breast milk as an effort to reduce the use of conventional medicines in Bojonegoro District in 2017.  This research uses Quasy experimental research design technique (quasi experiment). Based on the place of study including the type of field research design. Population is a subject that meets the criteria that have been set. The population in this study were all breastfeeding mothers in 10 Puskesmas in Bojonegoro Regency in 2016. Analysis is a very important part to achieve the goal, where the main purpose of research is to answer the research questions in expressing the phenomenon . Data analysis in this study using chi square test. The results showed p value 0.468> 0.05 which means there is no relationship between the use of herbal uyup - uyup with milk production. Keywords: Herbal Medicinal Use and Breastmilk Production

Abstact: This research was such an inovation research on social media that is questionable all this time in giving its support for the changing of behavior in education process. Facebook is mostly used as a medium to express feeling of the facebook account owner. In this study, researcher tried to analyze some of facilities and advantages of Facebook menus that appeared to have the opportunity to be used to build a community of researchers in the context of a formal environment. From the menus “group”, researchers had been trying to build a community “Virtual Guidance” for 2 semesters in which the incorporated accounts belonged to postgraduate students that actively involved in discussion of their research focus. So by using a simple descriptive method of analysis, the author monitored the trends of formal research stages in the process of preparing research paper ,particularly a thesis, and gained important information related to the aspects that were difficult to be understood quickly. The research found themes of thesis composing stages that caused delay and misleading. Other issues were the relationship among title, problem formulation, methodology, sampling, and relevan statistic examination.Keyword: Facebook, Virtual Guidance.

Abstract This paper surveys the literature, particularly the empirical literature, that examines the association between financial structure and economic growth. The studies are divided into two groups depending on their research focus and research design. Whereas both strands of literature contribute to our understanding of the relationship between financial structure and growth and may also inform each other, the fundamental difference in their research questions means that they should be treated separately rather than together. Despite this difference, the two strands of literature share a common weakness: i.e. they overlook the interactions between banks and stock markets, which may lead to biased estimations.
