Education function to develop the ability and form the character and civilization of a dignified nation in order to educate the nation’s life. This is in line with the values and norms of Indonesian society is far from materialism, But along with the influx of globalization and modernization, the value and meaning of education is often biased. The occurrence of bias in the interpretation of the meaning of education is caused by social change. research of education bias in Bima community gives an idea how education values can not be interpreted well by a society. Peter L Berger is one of the sociologists who discussed the whole process of social construction. Using the social construction theory of Peter L Berger, it can be seen that the people of Bima undergo a process of social change consisting of; (a) Changes in education patterns in Bima from Islamic education to secular education, (b) Conversion of society’s high social status, related to education which is a social construction process in Bima society about one’s social status. So from the analysis can be seen that education for the community Bima has a very important role in determining the position of a person’s social status. Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk melihat proses terkonstruksinya dimensi interkultural pada pola permainan gendang terhadap pelaku dan para pecinta Dangdut Koplo. Pendekatan yang digunakan mengadopsi dari Ilmu Sosial yakni teori konstruksi sosial Peter L. Berger yang terdiri dari eksternalisasi, objektivasi, dan internalisasi. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode fenomenologi dengan melakukan studi lapangan ke sejumlah wilayah pertunjukan Dangdut Koplo di Solo Raya terutama Taman Hiburan Rakyat (THR) Sriwedari dengan objek kelompok musik Areva sebagai bahan studi kasus. Proses konstruksi sosial masyarakat Dangdut Koplo dideskripsikan melalui analisis pada transkrip pola-pola gendang dan dampak musikalnya. Tahap eksternalisasi melibatkan konsep dan kreativitas Areva dalam menghasilkan serta mengembangkan dimensi interkultural pada pola permainan gendang. Kreativitas dalam bentuk pola-pola gendang bermuatan proses interkultural dihadirkan dengan melibatkan interaksi intersubjek sehingga menghasilkan produk interaktif berupa senggakan dan gerak-gerak komunitas joged pada proses objektivasi. Media pentas dan konser menjadi proses sosialisasi yang membuat masyarakat dari satu kolektif ke kolektif lain, melihat Areva Musik sebagai manifestasi dari Dangdut Koplo, pada tahap internalisasi. ABSTRACTThis research focused on the construction process of the intercultural dimension of the drums pattern among Dangdut Koplo’s society. The approach used to adopt from the social sciences, that was social construction theory from Peter l. Berger consist of externalization, internalization, and objectivation. Research conducted using the method of Phenomenology by doing fieldwork to several areas performing Live of Dangdut Koplo in Solo and surroundings especially on Taman Hiburan Rakyat (THR) Sriwedari with Areva Music group as a case study. The process of the social construction of society Dangdut Koplo described through analysis on transcripts of drum patterns and the impact of its. Externalization stage involves the concept of creativity from Areva Music in generating and developing intercultural dimension on the drum pattern of the gendang’s player. Creativity in the form of many drum patterns featured an intercultural process involving the subject to subject interaction to produce interactive products in the form of senggakan and some motion from joged’s community on the process of objectivation. The medium of performances and concerts into a process of socialization that make communities from one another, the collective to collective see that Areva Music group as a manifestation of Dangdut Koplo, at the process of internalization.

Recently, a computational model has been proposed of the social integration, as described in sociological terms by Blau. In this model, actors praise or critique each other, and these actions influence their social status and raise negative or positive emotions. The role of a self-deprecating strategy of actors with high social status has also been discussed there. Here, we develop a mean field approach, where the active and passive roles (praising and being praised, etc.) are decoupled. The phase transition from friendly to hostile emotions has been reproduced, similarly to the previously applied purely computational approach. For both phases, we investigate the time dependence of the distribution of social status. There we observe a diffusive spread, which — after some transient time — appears to be limited from below or from above, depending on the phase. As a consequence, the mean status flows.

This article discusses the hijab in the view of the Muslim community Caring for the Hijab Purwokerto. This research is a type of field research. In analyzing data, the instruments that researchers use are in-depth interviews, observations, and data that researchers get from journals, books, and newspapers. Researchers, in this case, use the Social Construction Theory from Peter L Berger's theory. This theory is more focused on the meaning and joint interpretation constructed in community networks. From the research conducted, the researchers focused on two main things, namely: (1) The view of the Muslim community caring for Hijab Purwokerto on the hijab. (2) Genealogy of Muslim Hijab Care for Hijab Purwokerto community understanding hijab

<p>This research entitled: "<em>Siwa-sisya</em> Relationship at <em>Ngaben</em> Ceremony in <em>Adat</em> Village / <em>Pakraman</em> Belayu, Marga, Tabanan". Obsessed with fulfilling the curiosity of the practice of holding a ceremonial ceremony involving a <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship. This <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship still seems to be held in Belayu. Whereas in some other traditional villages in Bali the <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship has begun to diminish. This means that this research requires the disclosure of facts behind the diversity of these <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship.The research with the title of the <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu, which was reviewed from the perspective of phenomenal communication, had never been examined by other researchers before, so it was open for being research. Thus there are three specific objectives to be achieved by this study, namely: to describe and interpret data regarding (1) the reality of the <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu; (2) social construction of <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu; and (3) communication management <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu. This study uses qualitative research methods, while the data collection is done through observation, interviews, and document use. The collected data is analyzed by data reduction techniques, and data display, then conclusions or verification are drawn from both. The theoretical foundation used to interpret data is social exchange theory, social construction theory, and communication management theory. This study produced three findings, namely (1) the reality model of the <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu; (2) the social construction model of the <em>siwa-sisya</em> relationship on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu; (3) management model of student communication on the <em>Ngaben</em> ceremony in Belayu. These findings are at once the conclusions of this study.</p>

The aim of this article is to understand to what extent imaginaries can play a role in the construction of an innovative market. We conducted a market-oriented ethnography of the nanotechnology market construction process, analysing the strategies of three categories of stakeholders: consumers, opponents and promoters. The results reveal a new form of market construction: symbolic construction. In the case of nanotechnologies, this is based on two primary mechanisms: (1) the promotional mechanics of imaginaries, which favour the market through the simultaneous use of familiar and futuristic imaginaries; and (2) ‘meaning activism’, which challenges the market using dystopian imaginaries. This research advocates an interpretive approach to innovation, enriching the marketing literature on innovation and the social construction of markets; it also highlights certain managerial insights generated by this approach.

Institutional theorists have recently been moving towards a notion that non-isomorphic institutional change is precipitated by significant events or ‘jolts’. In this paper, we argue that in doing so theorists have tended to move away from the social constructivist roots of institutional theory towards an understanding which implies the emergence of new organizational forms or practices in response to functional imperatives. In this context, we examine the ongoing institutional change from photography to digital imaging. Our analysis suggests that attributing institutional change to a single event or ‘jolt’ leads to a flawed understanding of institutional change processes. We demonstrate that, rather than causing institutional change, events are a part of the change process, and only become significant as actors bring them to our notice and ‘theorize’ around them (Greenwood et al. 2002). This social construction process determines the scope, significance and relevance of events, leading to the development of new artifacts and the enrolment of new stakeholders in the field. Situating events within the theorization process, rather than outside it, underlines the importance of focusing on social construction processes in accounts of institutional change.

AbstractThis article explains why people in Mgeta become locked in long and expensive land disputes. These disputes cannot be explained as rational choice strategies: the value of the land involved bears no relation to the costs people claim to incur: and people have recourse to the State legal arena without any reasonable expectation of a resolution of the conflict there. The explanation offered here is that there is a breakdown in the social definition of reality. The quest for justice is seen as a legal expression of a search for such definition.The Waluguru reason about land mainly in terms of a matrilineal ideology. This ideology is not, however, an ahistorical identity which gives automatic answers in disputes; it has to be continuously constructed as society copes with social change. The problem cannot be seen as one of cultural lag, where modern forms of law clash with older forms. Case material shows that recourse to individual title, for example, requires as much social construction of reality as recourse to Luguru systems of law. It also shows that these forms of law are inextricably intertwined. The failure to express a social construction of reality which is experienced as authoritative and binding is exacerbated by a vacuum of authority which has emerged in Luguru society.The obvious force driving these seemingly irrational conflicts is envy. In a situation, as here, where there is a breakdown in the social construction of reality and where a vacuum of authority exists, this disruptive force can manifest itself in unbridled form.

AbstractThis article examines two realities of life experienced by humans in living. These two realities are subjective and objective, both of which have a high power of study when combined. As the development of phenomena or social problems increasingly complex, the presence of Social Construction theory becomes a bridge to see the social situation in the two sides of the subjective and objective. As the sociologists struggle arguing for subjective and objective dominance, the Social Construction theory takes its position as peacemaker by giving portions on both sides that are equally important. The determination of the dowry in the marriage of the people of Karangsono Village was originally based on the rules of Islamic law, namely by using the principles of convenience, lightness, and simplicity. However, people's lives that are never stagnant make them always interact with each other, thus forming a new concept of dowry determination in the community. The purpose of this article is to determine the description and implementation of the concept of the dowry class in the community marriage of Karangsono Village and to review it using the perspective of the social construction theory. This field research used a qualitative descriptive method and data analysis used Berger and Luckmann's social construction theory. Data were collected through document study, interviews, and observations. This research resulted in conclusions: (1) The concept of the dowry class in the community marriage of Karangsono Village is based on the classification of the prospective bride, which is seen from the status of a virgin or widow, her beauty, and age. The higher the quality of the woman, the higher the dowry she can get, (2) The determination of the dowry in Karangsono Village has undergone a social construction based on three simultaneous processes. The externalization process is illustrated through adaptation to religious texts and life being experienced. The process of objectivation here gives birth to new meanings, which are manifested in the actions of the wider community so that they become objective facts. The process of internalization is illustrated by the affirmation in the consciousness experienced subjectively.(Penentuan mahar dalam perkawinan masyarakat Desa Karangsono mulanya didasarkan pada aturan hukum Islam, yakni dengan menggunakan asas kemudahan, keringanan dan kesederhanaan. Namun kehidupan masyarakat yang tidak pernah stagnan, membuat mereka selalu berinteraksi satu sama lain, Tujuan artikel ini ialah untuk mengetahui deskripsi dan implementasi konsep kelas mahar dalam perkawinan masyarakat Desa Karangsono, serta ditinjau menggunakan perspektif teori konstruksi sosial. Penelitian lapangan ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis datanya menggunakan teori konstruksi sosial Berger dan Luckmann. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumen, wawancara dan observasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa kesimpulan: (1) Konsep kelas mahar dalam perkawinan masyarakat Desa Karangsono ialah berdasarkan klasifikasi yang dimiliki calon pengantin perempuan, yakni dilihat dari status perawan atau janda, paras kecantikan dan usianya. Semakin tinggi kualitas yang dimiliki perempuan, maka semakin tinggi pula mahar yang bisa didapatkannya, (2) Penentuan mahar di Desa Karangsono telah mengalami konstruksi sosial berdasarkan tiga proses simultan. Proses eksternalisasi tergambar melalui adaptasi dengan teks-teks keagamaan dan kehidupan yang sedang dialami. Proses objektivasi disini melahirkan pemaknaan baru, yang termanifestasikan ke dalam tindakan-tindakan masyarakat luas sehingga menjadi kenyataan objektif dan biasa dilakukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Proses internalisasi tergambar oleh penegasan dalam kesadaran yang dialami secara subjektif dan pentransferan akan pengetahuan tentang makna-makna objektif)

Abstract The summer of 2011 has seen the first mass-scale social protest in Israel in its 70 years of existence. This social wave that shook the country, showed unique characteristics a-typical of most social and political uprisings, that go largely unexplained by social theories of social change and crowd psychology. In this article I am analyzing published reports of the social protest of 2011, and draw the analogy with the concept of ‘Agoral Gathering’ that may account for these events and support discussion of their aftermath.
