The allergic method is the main one in the diagnosis of mycobacterial infections in humans and animals. Allergic diagnosis of mycobacterial infections is carried out us-ing tuberculin. Tuberculin was developed over a hundred years ago by the German microbiologist Robert Koch. The diagnostic properties of tuberculin have been studied in detail. This made it possible to develop various methods of using tuberculin in a clinical setting. In addition, tuberculin is still used in the study of the fundamental mechanisms of immunity. Until now, tuberculin is a valuable diagnostic tool. However, the stability of tu-berculin over a long period of time has not been studied. The article provides a historical overview of the manufacture and use of various types of tuberculins for mammals, as well as the results of our own research. Purpose of the study: to study the stability of the biological properties of altuberculin for mammals (Germany) after long-term storage. The study of stability was carried out according to the following parameters: activity, specificity, reactogenicity. The activity was studied in guinea pigs sensitized with M. bovis mycobacteria. The specificity was investigated in guinea pigs sensitized with M. avium mycobacteria. Reactogenicity was studied in non-sensitized guinea pigs. As a result of the research, it was found that alttuberculin for mammals is characterized by biological activity at the level of 8000 IU in accordance with the current active standard of activity (the value of biological activity should correspond to the range of 6600 IU - 15000 IU). Altuberculin is characterized by a low specificity at the level of 41% (the specificity value should not be more than 10%). Alttuberculin, in accordance with modern requirements for the quality of purified tuberculins, is characterized by a high level of reactogenicity (the value of reactogenicity is expressed in the development of inflammation, the size of which should not exceed 5 mm). Thus, Alttuberculin for mammals maintains the stability of biological properties with a shelf life of more than 70 years. A comparative analysis of the quality indicators of alttuberculin and purified tuberculin PPD indicates the preference of using the purified form of the allergen when conducting diagnostic studies of animals for tuberculosis.

This study aimed to establish a procedure for pomegranate peel (PP) valorization and attainment of stable extracts with preserved bioactive compounds. The technology applied was spray drying with carbohydrate-based (maltodextrin, MD) and protein-based (whey protein, WP) carrier materials in different concentrations (80, 100, and 120%). What was analyzed was the impact of the type and concentration of carrier material on the stability and quality of the final encapsulated powder. The best results were achieved when the PP extract was microencapsulated with the carbohydrate-based carrier (100%), where it had the highest encapsulation efficiency (EE) (88.63%), hygroscopicity (15.17%), and water solubility index (87.04%). The moisture content was in the range of 3.69–4.60% and 4.21–5.84% for MD and WP, respectively, indicating that both are suitable for long-term storage. It was observed that changes in carrier concentration significantly influenced most of the powders’ physicochemical properties. Microencapsulation using MD yielded a higher content of punicalin, punicalagin, gallic, and ellagic acid than those with WP. Overall results demonstrated that carbohydrate-based microencapsulation can be utilized efficiently for the protection of powder stability and phytochemical characteristics.

The main problems of grape storage are berry dehydration and rot. One of the solutions to reduce rot and preserve the quality of grapes during storage is the use of aerosol treatment with calcium content before storing. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of physiologically active substances based on calcium in various concentrations on the quality and organoleptic characteristics of table grape cvs. ‘Italia’ during long-term storage. The effectiveness of the studied systems of treatment was evaluated according to the content of sugars and titratable acids, the activity of the redox enzymes of polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase, weight loss of bunch and organoleptic properties. The greatest effectiveness established by using preparation of Master Green Ca, Brentax KCa, and Brentax Ca (in concentration 150g / 20l). Experimental treatments significantly decreased the weight loss of bunch (less than 4%), and preserved organoleptic properties of berry at a high level (8.2-8.9 points). Decrease in the activity of oxidative enzymes had a positive effect on the quality of table grapes and contributed to its better preservation. The data obtained make it possible to rationalize the system of long-term storage of grapes by using of aerosol treatment with calcium-based preparation.

Due to the fact that milk has a short shelf life, the issue of its freezing and long-term storage in the frozen state is relevant. A study was conducted on the effect of freezing on the milk quality after its defrosting of cows-mothers and cows-daughters of Red-Motley breed. As a result, it was established how milk quality indicators to change after five months of storage in a frozen state in cows of two age groups. A high correlation was established between quality indicators before and after freezing. The influence of the “freezing” factor on milk quality indicators was recognized statistically significant, the “generation” factor – not significant.

The problem of utilization or recycling industrial tobacco wastes is an important problem for tobacco industry. Economically preferable way for utilizing industrial tobacco wastes (tobacco scrap) is production smokeless products and hookah blends as wastes are utilized without special treatment. Monitoring of humidity and fractional composition of cut tobacco taken from tobacco rod/cigarette spoilage (tobacco scrap) is carried. Its long-term storage leads to increasing scrap and dust quantity. Researches on utilizing tobacco scrap for sniff and hookah blend production, which are considered to be less harmful compared to cigarettes, were carried. Chemical composition of American type tobacco and scrap was defined. Nicotine content varies from 0.9 to 2.4% and carbohydrates content – from 5.6 to 9.6%. Experimental samples of hookah blend were produced and their organoleptic and taste evaluation were carried. It was found that utilization of tobacco scrap is economically efficient for hookah blend production, as quality of final product made of leaf tobacco and tobacco scrap is similar. Experimental samples of sniff tobacco were produced in order to discover possibility of utilization industrial tobacco scrap for manufacturing this product. Consumer’s properties of sniff tobacco were evaluated by 100 points tasting protocol. This technology for sniff tobacco production from tobacco scrap allows manufacturing product of good quality, decreasing technological operations, rejecting stages of tobacco selection and its cutting and as the result decreasing cost of final product. The results of the research on utilizing tobacco scrap for hookah blend and sniff tobacco production proves optimality of recycling the tobacco wastes.

In this paper the stability and degree of epimerisation of six major ergot alkaloids at three different temperature levels (-20 °C, +4 °C and +20 °C) over periods of 18 hours and six weeks is reported for the first time. The behaviour of ergometrine, ergocornine, ergocristine, α-ergocryptine, ergosine and ergotamine was thoroughly studied in seven solvents which are employed for the preparation of calibrants and extraction mixtures, respectively. Moreover, the stability of the ergot alkaloids was tested in different cereal extracts (rye, wheat, barley, oats) for 1, 2 and 6 days. Of the toxins tested, the ergopeptide-type toxins ergosine, ergotamine, ergocornine, α-ergocryptine and ergocristine showed similar behaviour patterns. The simple lysergic acid derivative ergometrine was more stable and showed hardly any epimerisation to ergometrinine, with the sum of both epimers remaining constant in all seven solvents. The ergopeptides tested show variable epimerisation tendencies, and were also less stable during six weeks at 20 °C. Ergosine showed the highest degree of epimerisation (43% after 6 weeks at 20 °C). In general, the order of epimerisation promotion was methanol/dichloromethane > acetonitrile/buffer > extraction mix > stabilising solution > acetonitrile >> chloroform. Long-term storage at room temperature can only be carried out in chloroform, which showed no epimerisation for all toxins even at 20 °C and also kept the sum of R and S forms constant, which indicates no formation of aci-epimers or other degradation products. Long-term storage of ergot alkaloids in acetonitrile, the most convenient solvent with respect to HPLC analysis, should be carried out at temperatures of -20 °C or below. The constant epimer ratio of all ergot alkaloids in the extraction mixture acetonitrile/ammonium carbonate buffer (200 mg/l; 92:8, v/v) during an HPLC run (18 hours) demonstrates the stability of the toxins in this extraction mixture.

This paper presents the lime binding forced carbonate-hardening materials properties formation study and determins the stability of these properties during long-term storage and use under normal conditions. The tests showed these materials stability properties over time, confirming the strength and density growth of the test samples after long storage due to the calcium hydroxide recrystallization completion into calcium carbonate processes. Also, the results of the samples carbonate hardening study under natural conditions during 18 months are presented. An efficiency assessment of forced carbonate hardening as one of the methods of recycling technogenic CO2 in order to reduce its emissions in the atmosphere, and, in the result, to obtain high-quality construction materials has been made.
