The main focus of this study was to find out the relationship between teachers’ socio-economic status (SES) and their teaching profession attitude at secondary school level in the province of Punjab.  After extensive literature review and focus group discussion, four sub-components of teachers’ SES have been selected named as qualification, income, occupational respect, wealth and while teaching values, attributes, salaries & incentives, and satisfaction with teaching profession were selected as sub-components of teaching profession attitude.  A questionnaire was surveyed on nine-hundred (900) teachers who taught science subjects to secondary classes and selected from all over the Punjab through proportionate stratified random sampling technique.  The major findings showed positive relationship between the both variables of the study while teachers’ occupational respect- only one of the sub-components of teachers’ SES found positive relationship with teaching profession attitude.  This study recommended that public and media should play its role to promote the occupational respect of teachers in the eyes of general public and all stakeholders.

The study sought to explore students' views on the utility of non-formal education in addressing the school dropout phenomenon at secondary school level. Qualitative research approach was adopted and a case study design was utilised. The population consisted of all the students in the non-formal programme at the school from which a sample of 11 students (2 male and 9 female) was selected through purposive stratified sampling technique. Data were gathered through structured in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Non-formal education was seen to address the school dropout phenomenon by providing school drop outs with an opportunity to continue their education and hence becomes a form of empowerment. A number of challenges such as lack of adequate tuition in some subjects, lack of conducive learning environment as well as negative perception of non-formal education held by pupils in the formal stream and community members were identified. The study recommends that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education should review the staffing situation in schools to ensure the availability of teachers in the various subjects in the non-formal stream. Schools should make an effort to provide appropriate learning facilities for students in the nonformal stream. Furthermore, schools should conscientise their communities on the importance of non-formal education.

This study assessed the demographic characteristics of students’ performance in Mathematics in senior secondary Certificate Examination in Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State. The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between gender, location, socio-economic status and students’ performance in Mathematics in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. The ex-post facto research design was used for the study. The population of the study is 15,170 SS3. A sample of 759 students was randomly selected from the total population using simple random sampling technique of balloting and stratified random sampling technique. Four research questions and four hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The instrument used for the study was a 40-item multiple choice senior secondary Mathematics Achievement test (SSMAT). Multiple regressions were used for the analysis. The study established that gender and socio-economic status contributed to students’ performance in Mathematics in senior secondary certificate examination. Recommendation was made based on the findings of the study.

The present study has been conducted for the identification of Principals leadership’s competencies in academic and administrative areas at the secondary school level of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The population of this research study encompasses all 1422 Secondary School Principals. Random sampling technique was applied to select 377 school heads as respondents. To conduct the research study, data was collected through questionnaires, which were further tabulated for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), and analytical tools of mean, standard deviation, and correlation were used. It is found that the majority of the respondents responded that they had properly managed human resources, and performed academic and administrative activities for the promotion of education in the institutions. It is recommended that the level of leadership in administrative and academic areas be improved with modern approaches.

In the present investigation an attempt has been made to reveal the relationship of emotional intelligence and academic achievement. It also studies the emotional intelligence and academic achievement of high and low socio economic status children. Sample for the study includes 200 (100 high socio economic status and 100 low socio economic status) of class Xth of Ranchi. The data were analyzed with the help of t-ratio and product moment coefficients of correlation. The findings of the study reveal positive relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement. The study also reveals that students with high and low socio economic status differ from one another on emotional intelligence and academic achievement.

The Zsebatlasz [‘Pocket Atlas’] series published in Hungary between 1909 and 1919 was a business venture of the Hungarian Geographical Institute [Magyar Földrajzi Intézet]. Intended primarily for the teaching of geography at the secondary school level in Hungary, the main aim was to broaden the worldview and expand the knowledge of secondary school pupils. Before and during World War I, the books were militarised, and promoted Hungarian national points of views. Short articles in each of the volumes provided analyses and reports of the war, focusing in particular on the geographical problems arising from ever-shifting territorial transformations. To aid in the transfer of this political-geographical knowledge, coloured maps were published in a huge number in the volumes. This paper outlines the evolution of this “Pocket Atlas” series, and in so doing provides the basis for critical reflection on the relationship between political power, nationalist propaganda, and the production of geographical knowledge.

The purpose of this research is to discover the effect of cyber bullying on students academic achievement and their behavior. The objective of the research was to find out the academic achievement affected by cyberbullying and behavior of students on gender basis at higher secondary school level. Through random sampling technique, 2160 students and 48 teachers from 6 districts were selected. Questionnaires and interviews were used for data analysis using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that cyber bullying significantly affects students academic achievement than their behavior. No significant effect of cyber bullying was found on students academic achievement and their behavior with respect to their gender. The qualitative data obtained from interviews teachers concludes that students are well aware of cyber bullying and cyber bullying equally affects boys and girls of public sector higher secondary schools.

In Pakistan English is taught as a compulsory subject in private as well as public schools form primary till university level. Resulting in the different outcomes by different socioeconomic status student. The current study attempts to study the correlation between socio-economic status and their achievement in the subject of English using survey method. The data was collected through simple random sampling technique. Data was collected 162 students through questionnaire. The descriptive and Pearson correlation were used for data analysis. The results revealed that the students whose parents having managerial category had a high correlation with all the four (sentence, grammar, vocabulary and spelling) skills of English learning. Whereas, students from the unskilled and semiskilled families resulted in a low achievement in English.
