Good scheduling arrangements are needed to prevent physical, emotional, and psychological exhaustion in nurses which will harm their performance. The aim is to see an assessment of the characteristics of nurse work scheduling in the hospital ward. This study used a descriptive survey design. The population in this study were all nurses in the ward of Lavalette Hospital - Malang. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data collection using a scheduling characteristic questionnaire. Most of the respondents considered that the work scheduling criteria currently applied in the ward were in the sufficient category (80.2%). There are sub-variable coverage (309) and quality (321) less than the average value (322.08). The problems that arise in the nurse scheduling in the ward of Lavalette Hospital - Malang are the suitability of amount and distribution of nurses, quality of the schedule, an exchange between nurses, and time to prepare the schedule.

<p>The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of learning discipline <br />and logical mathematical intelligence on mathematics achievement. This study is a survey design. This research did in student class XI IPA SMA Negeri 98 Jakarta semester 2012/2013. The sample taken by simple random sampling technique, involved 40 students. The instrument were in the forms of questionnaires and tests. The data were analyzed first by test requirements, the normality test, linearity and multicollinearity. Based on the fulfillment of the criteria in terms of the tes analyzed, inferential analysis to the test the research hypothesis. The data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression. The findings showed that (1) learning discipline and logical mathematical intelligence had a positive and significant simultaneous impact on mathematics achievement. (2) learning discipline had a positive and significant impact on mathematics achievement. (3) logical mathematical intelligence had a positive and significant impact on mathematics achievement. </p>

The study focused on users satisfaction with library services at the Delta State University main Library, Abraka, Delta State. The objective was to find out if users are satisfied with the services, facilities, the library environment, information sources and staff of the library. Using the descriptive survey design the population for the study consisted of all registered library users in the Site II of the Delta State University, Abraka Campus. The study employed the simple random sampling techniques in selecting the sample size for the study, and with a questionnaire data were collected. The findings revealed that the services offered at the Delta State University are inadequate and below average. Most users were satisfied with the availability of information sources in the library but also registered that most of these information sources are not available for loan. The findings also showed that there is a significant relationship between the assessment of library collection by users and their satisfaction with information sources. The library environment is clean and the reading carrels are adequate but, there are no effective lightening and toilet facilities.

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the ability of students in learning Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung by using textual and contextual strategies in the Sibuhuan Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Padang Lawas Regency. The theory used in this research is theory The learning strategy by Rusman as the main theory, for supporting theories is textual use from Nurwani and contextual from Nurhadi. This type of research is quasi-experimental using simple random sampling technique, namely the experimental class using the contextual and contextual strategies in Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung learning and control classes using conventional learning. The instruments used in this study were two, namely the cognitive ability test in the form of a test essay by using the cognitive domains C1, C2, C3, and C4. Psychomotor ability test which consists of three aspects of assessment, namely wiraga, wirasa, and wirama where each aspect consists of three components. The cognitive abilities of students in the experimental class and control class before using textual and contextual strategies are the same, by using the pre test the average value of the experimental class is 46.9 and the average in the control class is 45.5. After the post test, the ability of students in the experimental class who were treated with textual strategies and contextual learning in Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung experienced a significant increase compared to the control class. Obtained an increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class of 39.9 from 46.9 so as to achieve 86.8% completeness and for the control class at 9.8 from 45.5 to 55.3%. Psychomotor abilities of students also experienced improvement in each meeting, where the first meeting reached 61.90%, the second meeting reached 75.20% and the third meeting reached 86.92%. The results showed that there were significant differences using textual and contextual strategies for improving students' abilities in learning Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung at Sibuhuan State Islamic Senior High School, Padang Lawas District. Keywords: Tortor naposo nauli bulung, bextual, contextual, cognitive, psychomotor, conventional   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa  dalam pembelajaran Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulungdengan menggunakan strategi tekstual dan kontekstual di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Sibuhuan Kabupaten Padang Lawas. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Strategi pembelajaran oleh Rusman sebagai teori utama, untuk teori pendukung digunakan tekstual dari Nurwani dan kontekstual dari Nurhadi. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi eksperiment dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, yaitu kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan strategi terkstual dan kontekstual pada pembelajaran Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung dan kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada dua yaitu tes kemampuan kognitif dalam bentuk essay test dengan mengguanakan ranah kognitif C1,C2,C3, dan C4. Tes kemampuan psikomotorik yang terdiri dari tiga aspek penilaian yaitu wiraga, wirasa, dan wirama dimana masing-masing aspek terdiri dari tiga komponen. Kemampuan kognitif siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebelum dilaukan strategi tekstual dan kontekstual adalah sama, dengan menggunakan pre test diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 46,9 dan rata-rata pada kelas kontrol sebesar 45,5. Setelah dilakukan post test, kemampuan siswa pada kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakukan strategi tekstual dan kotekstual pada pembelajaran Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Diperoleh peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dikelas eksperimen sebesar 39,9 dari 46,9 sehingga mencapai ketuntasan 86,8 % dan untuk kelas kontrol sebesar 9,8 dari 45,5 sehingga menjadi 55,3%. Kemampuan psikomotorik siswa juga mengalami peningktan disetiap pertemuan, dimana pertemuan I mencapai 61,90%, pertemuan II mencapai 75,20% dan pertemuan III mencapai 86,92%. Hasil menunjukkan ada perbedaan yang signifikan dengan menggunakan strategi tekstual dan kontekstual terhadap peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran Tortor Naposo Nauli Bulung di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Sibuhuan Kabupaten Padang Lawas. Kata kunci: Tortor naposo nauli bulung, tekstual, kontekstual, kognitif, psikomotorik, konvenssional

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kesintasan 2 tahun setelah diagnosis pasien ko-infeksi TB-HIV berdasarkan lokasi anatomi Tuberkulosis (TB). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kohort restrospektif dinamik menggunakan 177 rekam medik pasien ko-infeksi TB-HIV di RSPI Prof. Dr Sulianti Saroso Jakarta yang terdaftar tahun 2010-2013, diambil secara simple random sampling Kesintasan pasien ko-infeksi TB-HIV 2 tahun setelah diagnosa dengan lokasi anatomi TB di ekstra paru sebesar 86%, lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan lokasi anatomi TB di paru sebesar 98%. Lokasi anatomi TB di ekstra paru beresiko lebih cepat mengalami kematian pada pasien ko-infeksi TB-HIV (HR 1,47, 95% CI : 0,55-3,90). Infeksi HIV mengakibatkan kerusakan sistem imunitas tubuh yang luas sehingga infeksi dan penyebaran kuman TB juga akan meluas seperti ke kelenjar getah bening, pleura dan organ lainnya. TB ekstra paru memiliki beban bakteri TB yang lebih tinggi dan menunjukkan progresifitas perjalanan penyakit semakin parah yang mengakibatkan probabilitas ketahanan hidup (kesintasan) penderitanya semakin menurun. Perlu dilakukan screening lebih intensif terhadap pasien ko-infeksi TB-HIV untuk menemukan kemungkinan TB di ekstra paru sedini mungkin agar dapat diberikan penatalaksanaan yang tepat dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderitanya.Abstract : The study aims to describe the overview of survival for 2 years after diagnosed of patients co-infection with TB-HIV based on the anatomical site of Tuberculosis (TB). The design of this study was dynamic retrospective cohort with 177 medical records of TB-HIV co-infection patients in the Center of infection hospital Prof. Dr. Sulianti Saroso, Jakarta, from 2010 to 2013, taken by simple random sampling technique. The survival of TB-HIV co-infection for 2 years after it was diagnosed in patients with anatomical site of TB in the extrapulmonary was 86% and it was lower compared to patient with the anatomical site in the pulmonary which was 98%. Anatomical site of TB in the extrapulmonary had risk of death faster toward TB-HIV co-infection patients (HR 1,47, 95% CI : 0,55-3,90). HIV infection cause the widespreading damage in the immunity system therefor the infection of TB microbe also spreading to other organ such as lymph nodes and pleura. Extrapulmonary TB has much more TB microbe that worsen the progressivity of the disease and decrease the probability of the patient’s survival. Intensive screening are needed for TB/HIV co-infection patients to diagnosed the possibility of TB infection in the extrapulmonary as early as possible to increase the quality of life of its patients by finding the proper treatment.

Universitas Islam Nusantara (UNINUS) currently manages the Faculty Teacher Training and Education Science (FKIP), with increasing number of  students each year. However, the increase in students has not been fully supported by an increase the quality of learning. This study aims to know about e-learning and quality of learning, and also to analyze was there any influence from e-learning to quality of learning at FKIP UNINUS at Bandung City. The method used is descriptive and verification. The sample was 100 college students of FKIP UNINUS at Bandung City. The sampling technique used simple random sampling (SRS). Analysis using linear regression analysis. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the e-learning is in the high category, while quality of learning is in the medium category. In addition, the obtained findings that e-learning has positive and significant impact on quality of learning at FKIP UNINUS Bandung. Thus, e-learning needs to be improved because it has proven to be able to increase the quality of learning at FKIP UNINUS Bandung.

Purpose: This study evaluated the effectiveness of teacher-centered method of teaching Christian Religious Education in instilling respect among students in public secondary schools in Rachuonyo North Sub-County, Kenya. Methodology: The study was guided by the Bandura’s social learning theory. A descriptive survey design was adopted. The study population comprised 50 CRE teachers and 1,615 Form Four students taking CRE in 49 public secondary schools. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 15 teachers, and 485 Form Four students from the accessible population. Face to face interviews were conducted to collect data from teachers while questionnaires were administered to collect data from students. Quantitative data from questionnaire were analyzed with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 20.0 using descriptive statistics as well as inferential statistics and presented in tabular form. Data from interviews was analyzed qualitatively and presentation was done in narrative form. Findings: Majority of the interviewed students were male and were in the age category of 17-21 years of age while nearly two thirds of the interviewed teachers were males with different levels of education ranging from bachelors to PhD. Majority of the students reported that the use of school assignments, lectures, homework, game based approach, mental modeling approach, classroom instructions, and role play enhanced acquisition of virtue of respect. The Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient showed that there existed a positive, strong and statistically significant association between teacher-centered methods and instilling virtue of respect in students (r = 0.876; p < 0.05). Contribution to theory, practice and policy: The study concludes that strategic use of classroom approach through assignments, homework, and talk’s is essential in acquisition of virtue of respect among students. Furthermore, teacher-centered methods play critical roles in instilling the virtue of respect among students. Therefore, teachers should be assisted to acquire competence in correct C.R.E syllabus interpretation in order to enable them to adapt varied methods of teaching, policies should ensure systematic implementation of inclusive teaching methods for every student and creation of knowledge on teacher centered teaching methods.

Abstract Internal patient transfer is the process of transferring patients from one room to another in a hospital while still being oriented towards quality and patient safety. The results of the observations showed that the filling of the internal patient transfer form was not optimal so that there were still incomplete forms due to the large number of patients and the weak coordination between health workers. To determine the effect of the completeness of filling out the internal patient transfer form on the quality of medical records. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, questionnaires and literature study. The sampling technique was simple random sampling technique so as to obtain a sample of 91 internal patient transfer forms. From the results of observations, 22% of the internal patient transfer forms were found that were not completely filled in, especially in the signature and clear name. The two variables have a strong relationship. The effect of the variable completeness of the internal patient transfer form on the medical record quality variable is 90.1% and the remaining 9.9% is influenced by other factors. Based on these studies, it can be concluded that the lack of accuracy and coordination of nurses, doctors and other officers in filling out internal patient transfer forms so that this affects the quality of medical records in the aspect of accuracy. Keyword : Completeness, Internal Patient Transfer Form, Medical Record Quality   Abstrak Transfer pasien internal merupakan proses pemindahan pasien dari satu ruangan ke ruangan yang lain di dalam satu rumah sakit dengan tetap berorientasi pada mutu dan keselamatan pasien. Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa belum optimalnya pengisian formulir transfer pasien internal sehingga masih terdapat formulir yang tidak lengkap disebabkan oleh faktor dari banyaknya pasien dan lemahnya koordinasi antara tenaga kesehatan. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh kelengkapan pengisian formulir transfer pasien internal terhadap mutu rekam medis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, kuesioner dan studi pustaka. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik simple random sampling sehingga memperoleh sampel sebanyak  91 formulir transfer pasien internal. Dari hasil observasi ditemukannya formulir transfer pasien internal yang belum terisi lengkap sebanyak 22% terutama pada tandatangan dan nama jelas. Kedua variabel memiliki hubungan yang kuat. Pengaruh variabel kelengkapan formulir transfer pasien internal terhadap variabel mutu rekam  medis sebesar 90,1% dan sisanya 9,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kurangnya ketelitian dan koordinasi perawat, dokter dan petugas lain dalam pengisian formulir transfer pasien internal sehingga hal ini mempengaruhi mutu rekam medis pada aspek keakuratan. The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of board audit committee characteristics on the financial performance of selected commercial banks in Ghana during the period of 2008 to 2017. The correlational design was employed. The study population was 23 commercial banks licensed under the Bank and Special Deposit Taking Institution Act with audit committee on their board and offices in Ghana as at December 2018. The sample size for the study was 13 commercial banks in Ghana. The lottery method of simple random sampling technique was used to select the 13 banks. The study made use of only secondary data. Statistical tools such as means, standard deviations, Pearson product moment correlation, and linear multiple regression analysis were used to analyse the data. The findings of the study revealed that when banks audit committee increase the frequency of their meetings, increase the number and quality of financial qualifications of member on board and also increase the size of the audit committee members on total board membership, it will have a significant influence on the banks’ financial performance. It was recommended to Bank of Ghana (BoG) and managers of the various commercial banks to ensure that audit committee members are independent, meaningfully represented at boards of the banks, and are people with expertise in accounting/finance.

Presently, drug abuse has become a societal problem with its prevalence being found among adolescents in Nigeria. This study focuses on the contemporary trend of drug abuse among in-school adolescents in Kwara State, Nigeria. The study employed the use of a descriptive survey design. One hundred respondents were chosen for the study through the use of a simple random sampling technique from the three Senatorial districts of Kwara State. In total, three hundred adolescents participated in the study. The respondents were stratified on the basis of age and gender. In order to ascertain the validity of the instrument of this study, copies of the questionnaire were given to experts and lecturers in related fields for vetting. A reliability index of 0.75 was obtained using a test-retest method. The instrument used for this study was tagged “Trends of Drug Abuse Questionnaire” (TDAQ). The outcome of this research revealed that a significant difference existed in in-school adolescent’s perception on the contemporary trend of drug abuse based on age. However, on the basis of gender, the respondent’s perceptions were similar. Given these results, it is recommended that drug refusal skills as well as drug education be incorporated into students’ orientation programs.

The chapter investigated the facilities available, extent of usage, and the various methods, perspectives, and strategies of blended learning used as well as possible challenges in Nigeria higher education using Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as a case study. The descriptive survey research design was adopted. An instrument titled “Questionnaire on Opportunities and Implementation of Blended Learning” was administered on 216 lecturers selected by simple random sampling technique. Data collected were analyzed using frequency counts and simple percentages. The results showed that facilities are fairly available and there is moderate extent of usage of the available facilities for incorporating blended learning strategy. Lecturers used 21 different methods, the five blended learning perspectives, and four different strategies. Various challenges were identified. The study concluded that opportunities were available for lecturers to implement blended learning strategy into the classroom instruction delivery if the major challenges faced are properly addressed.
