In order to prevent transmission of Covid-19, the government and universities agreed to temporarily stop face-to-face lectures and replace them with distance learning in the form of online lectures. Even so, the implementation of distance learning in the form of online lectures has different characteristics from face-to-face lectures, because the role of students in online learning is far greater than the role of students in face-to-face lectures so that they require self-directed learning readiness from students so that distance learning is done can be effective. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on students' self-directed learning readiness in attending online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a survey, a survey conducted on 78 students. The results showed that students 'self-directed learning readiness was still at a moderate stage, so it was necessary to make an effort to identify students' self-directed learning needs and to arrange a more complete online learning schedule.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the learning process from face-to-face to online learning. Therefore, universities are forced to prepare their learning management system’s infrastructure quickly. Students and lecturers’ readiness for e-learning are also crucial. This study aims to investigate lecturers and students’ readiness for online learning during this pandemic. Furthermore, lecturers and students’perception about the constraints and advantages of online learning were also explored in this study. Respondents in this study were 1036 students and 354 lecturers from various universities in Indonesia. Students’ readiness for online learning was measured by the Online Learning Readiness Survey/OLRS and the results showed that students in this study were ready because they had a high score of self-efficacy in technology and high learning motivation during the pandemic. Meanwhile, lecturers' readiness was measured by Teacher Readiness for Online Learning Measurement/TROLM and we found that lecturers were ready because they had a high score in communicating via computer and in self-directed learning to continue utilizing the technology. These results contribute to research related in online learning during the pandemic and provide important implications for University’s management in dealing with changes in education.AbstrakPandemic COVID-19 telah mengubah proses belajar dari tatap muka menjadi belajar secara daring (pembelajaran jarak jauh/PJJ). The Covid-19 pandemic has had a fundamental impact on various aspects of humanity. Starting from attacking health, this pandemic has hit the education sector which is quite influential on human life. Enforcement of regulations while maintaining a distance of about one meter has implications for the education process in Indonesia. Therefore, the educational element must encourage the distance learning process. The term arises because it sees distance learning as an alternative to face-to-face methods so that education can always be held without controversy under any circumstances. This activity raises the use of technology that is used as teaching material for distance education. Distance learning techniques allow users to take advantage of technologies such as online learning. Teachers will be required to abandon using traditional techniques whose methods are somewhat indifferent. Online learning creates internet connectivity and the use of information technology in helping the teaching and learning process that can be applied in Google Classroom. In this article, researchers focus on using Google Classroom in the context of implementing distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

From the emergencies of COVID-19, the government made a policy of learning from home including lectures. But in its procurement, online lectures have many notes, especially from students as one of the online lecturers part. This study aims to determine the perceptions of students in Surabaya about online lectures when the COVID-19 pandemic. The Surabaya study is a research location because Surabaya is the second largest city after Jakarta which has the highest COVID-19 case in East Java Province. Researchers use the theory of Kenneth K. , Edward M. , Judy C. Pearson and Paul E. Nelson in (2008) about the stages of the process of perception, namely stimulation (sensation), attention, and interpretation. The method used is qualitative. The informants in this study were active students at the 10 best universities in East Java according to . In addition to using interview techniques, researchers also made observations on the 10 university's official social media accounts. As a result, students in Surabaya perceived that online lectures during a pandemic were good enough to reduce the spread of the corona virus. But in its implementation, students feel less satisfied with several aspects, one of which is the online learning support facilities provided by the campus such as the internet quota, even though the intensity of the assignments is greater than face-to-face lectures.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced humans to change behavior in various aspects and various fields, including education. The basic policy carried out by the government for the world of education during the Covid-19 Pandemic is the existence of a study from home policy for all levels of education. This policy changed the way educational institutions conduct the learning process, from face-to-face learning in the classroom to distance learning. Ready or not ready, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced universities that previously were not optimal in preparing and implementing online learning to carry out full implementation. Students and lecturers who previously lacked interest in carrying out online learning were required to conduct online lectures. Because the essence of lectures is a dialogue between students and lecturers or between students and students, then in the implementation of online lectures an application is needed that can guarantee the implementation of the dialogue. Of the many internet facilities for online lectures, the WhatsApp application is one of the recommended options for use in online lectures. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. In collecting the data, this research conducted observations on the whatsapp group. While the data analysis technique of this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study are the whatsapp group feature is a good alternative used in the online learning process. Self-directed learning is an important skill highlighted in the 21st century learning. Hence, developing this skill through problem-based learning (PBL) is deemed to be potentially effective. However, PBL is still not widely implemented in Malaysian classrooms. The integration of face-to-face and online learning known as blended problem-based learning (BPBL) is potentially effective in improving PBL by enhancing teacher’s and students’ roles in self-directed learning. Thus, this research aims to investigate the roles of teacher and students in the process of self-directed learning (formulating learning issues) in BPBL by using basic qualitative approach. Data was collected from observations, interviews and documents (FILA chart). By using purposive sampling, twenty-five (25) students and a teacher from a school in Johor district were selected as the sample. The students were divided into five groups. The teacher and students’ roles in two randomly selected groups were compared. The results indicated that the teacher faced difficulties in monitoring students’ progress and some students were passive in the BPBL.
