PT. Ching Luh Indonesia is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry that produces sports shoes with well-known global brands, with annual revenues of more than US $ 1 billion, and has 8,000 workers. PT. Ching Luh Indonesia is a company that is responsive to technological advances and pays great attention to the comfort of employees in working, especially in the Laboratory section. In that section, the bonding checking process on the shoe samples currently still uses direct checking without any time reference in each sample. This is considered less effective because it makes the addition of the remaining sample for the next shift. This study aims to determine the standard time of each shoe sample variant and to determine the number of samples received by each operator. From the research results using the calculation of the standard time can be determined the standard time of each variant of the shoe sample, so it can also be determined the number of samples received for each operator. By determining the standard time for each shoe sample, it is expected that each operator can complete each sample according to the predetermined standard time, so that the specified target can be achieved.. Keywords: Standard Time, Bonding, Shoe Samples, Laboratory, Operator

This study explores consumers’ decision-making in terms of intention to switch to foreign brands from domestic brands when purchasing cell phones and sports shoes. A survey of 584 undergraduates in Guangdong, China, shows that domestic brands retain their low quality-conscious, low fashion-and-recreational-conscious and low price-conscious customers and attract low brand-conscious and high choice-confused buyers from foreign brands. Foreign brands typically retain their consumers who are highly conscious of fashion and recreation and keep and draw customers with low choice confusion. High-price-conscious consumers and those who are highly brand-confused will assess foreign and domestic brands when searching for bargains. Regarding managerial implications, local brands should offer products of high quality at low pricesand constantly invest in R&D; foreign brands may expand their customer bases and build interactive brand channels; all companies can retain brand-confused customers with preferential packages and design their marketing strategies based on decision-making styles of their target consumers.

Abstract PT. COCA-COLA BOTTLING INDONESIA is a company engaged in the field of Agro-industry is bottling soft drinks and not sparkling. The products produced are Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, and Tea. To be able to compete with similar industries then the company implements quality control by Statistical Process Control method. In the development of this SPC many methods there are manual or who use the software. Currently PT. Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia in quality control using Time Charting method, but since the transition from Minitab to Time Charting the tendency of the value of capability below standard, whereas production data is almost the same as using Minitab. The purpose of this research is to analyze the inequality of Statistical Process Control between Minitab 13 and Time Charting. Time Charting method is a new method that is given by the headquarters for the process of quality control can be fast and accurate. Quality control with the Statistical Process Control of Minitab and Time Charting methods after the results of the research results was found to be part of different LSL and USL charging, and Calculate Statistic Using different from Minitab method should still be 6 but in written procedure 3. For writing LSL And USL if the Time Charting is determined by the head office while Minitab analysts fill in based on experiments on the decrease of gas volume marketed in previous years. From the research results obtained Cpk data for Minitab method 13 is Sprite 390 ml 1.47, Sprite 1000 ml 1.90 and Sprite 1500 ml 1.38. The result of the research was using Minitab method and the Charting Time of Capacity that is above 1.33 average. The causes of the resulting inequality of both methods are the LSL, USL and Calculate Statistic Using values. The smaller the value of Calculate Statistic Using the higher Cpk produced. Supply chain management plays an important role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing industry business process. In this research, the problem is taken from a sales division in a company in determining the optimal sequence when delivering goods into nine cities. This problem is oftenreferred as travelling salesman problem. This problem is considered important since the optimal sequence can cut off operational cost. Creating an artificial intelligence for the company in determining the location and the optimal sequence of delivering goods is the main objective of this research. A genetic algorithm is utilized to determine the location and the optimal sequence. While for processing the data and concluding the result, researcher designed a Java-based application that provides the capability of automatic computing. The result of this computation is a sequence of locations with a fitness number for each. The best fitness number for the sequence location will be used for the final result and the conclusion to answer the company’s problem.

Emotions are a fundamental part of mental health and human behavior. In the workplace, optimal performance of employees is necessary for productivity enhancements and its relation to the quality of a manufacturing product, therefore leading a company to advantages and competitiveness. This means that the workplace staff must remain in a neutral or a calm emotional state, for an adequate job performance. When an operation is not pleasant or the same task is carried out for a long period of time (repetitive), it can cause negative emotions such as stress, and this will have repercussions in poor work performance. The purpose of this research is, by means of an electroencephalogram (EEG), to identify the stress in the repetitive assembly of a manufacturing product. To measure brain waves, the Emotiv Epoc equipment was used and a manufacturing line was designed, divided into three workstations, where the assembly of product comprising a LEGO car was carried out within a manual repetitive approach. The appearance of stress was determined by employing two different methodologies, the prefrontal relative gamma marker (RG) and the valence, arousal, and dominance (VAD) emotional categories. The results obtained from the first methodology, corresponding to the RG marker, displayed a significant more change between the relaxation state and the product assembly carried out at 70% of the standard time (ST). A less significant change was observed between the relaxation state and the product assembly carried out at 100% ST, thus signaling the presence of stress. Additionally, the results from the VAD methodology resulted in moderate and low levels of stress, when the product assembly was carried out at 70% and 100% standard time, respectively.

This chapter proposes a knowledge space concept and a recursive approach to servitizing in the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing companies need to move up the value chain and compete on the basis of value delivered rather than on the basis of typical products. Therefore, more corporations are adding value to their core corporate offerings through services, which is called servitization, and the strength of service activities within the manufacturing industry (servitization) has become the main source of competitive advantage. This chapter identifies two exclusive approaches to adapting servitization in the manufacturing industry called the knowledge space concept and recursive approach, which also explains the value co-creation process with customers through integrating “B-to-B to C,” which produces a company that is a value provider.
