The institution of the Post-Secondary Year - Apprenticeship Class was introduced in Greece in 2013 and after its pilot phase, its application in Vocational High Schools (EPAL) throughout the country was expanded in 2017. After the completion of four years of presence and implementation of the institution, with significant benefits for the apprentices, some factors emerge that make the participation and operation of the trainers involved in the Apprenticeship difficult. The aim of this study is to record, investigate and interpret a) the difficulties trainers encountered in their educational work and b) the necessary supplies they utilized to deal effectively with these difficulties. The sample was fifteen (15) trainers of EPAL who participated in the implementation of the Apprenticeship. The qualitative method was selected for the research, with semi-structured interviews as a tool for data collection and thematic analysis for their analysis. According to the findings of the research, trainers face difficulties in their educational work, mainly in the extensive course material, the low level of knowledge and the indifference of apprentices. The main means they use in the classroom to manage and deal with these difficulties are the very good knowledge of their specialized subject, the extensive educational experience, the application of the principles and practices of Adult Education and their skills. The present study aims to contribute, through the utilization of the research conclusions, to the feedback of education executives and trainers for the functional improvement and enhance the effectiveness of the institution.

Drawn from an investigation of the emergent technological practices of post-secondary students with mathematics learning disabilities, this case study employs an enactivist framework in considering the bootstrapping processes our participants report engaging in when using personal electronic devices for academic support. Video-recorded, semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine post-secondary participants with mathematics learning disabilities in two western Canadian urban centres. Findings suggest that participants used technology to control and improve sensory input in order to better access mathematics course content and monitor the accuracy of their work, engage with alternate presentations of mathematical concepts to enhance their level of understanding, reduce workload, and improve organization. We discuss how their strategies in using technology relate to Bereiter’s categorization of bootstrapping resources (1985), including imitation, chance by selection, learning support systems, and piggybacking. Grounded in a “learner’s perspective,” this case study identifies technological adaptations and strategies that may be helpful to others with mathematics learning disabilities.

The data were collected by means of open-ended questions asked at semi-structured interviews. The researchers recorded the interviewees’ responses by taking notes. The data was processed via content and thematic analyses. Tables were used to present the data. The findings of the study indicate that the school leaders are not able to find efficient solutions to problems about in-class technology usage. It is also determined that virus programs on computers are not up to date. Teachers do not prefer using technology in their classes since they are anxious about falling behind the annual plan and the classes are over-crowded. Another noteworthy finding is that even though some teachers use technology for educational purposes, help each other and share their materials, there are some teachers who do not act responsibly concerning the usage and protection of the devices. The study explores the sociolinguistic phenomenon, Arabizi, from a new perspective by investigating the case of three Arabizi users coming from different generations: Azer (42 years old), Nada (29 years old), and Mira (21 years old). The main research question of the study is how generational differences between Arabizi users shape their experiences with Arabizi in terms of 1) how they learned it, 2) how they currently use it, 3) how they perceive its effect on the Arabic language, 4) their attitude towards its users, 5) and their expectations for its future use. Semi-structured interviews were employed to gain a deeper insight into participants’ experiences with Arabizi, taking into consideration their linguistic, educational, work, and social backgrounds. The significance of this case study lies in how Arabizi users’ surroundings and life experiences influence their linguistic choices and perceptions. Findings provide insight into how Arabizi is considered advantageous compared to using English language. It is also perceived to be a phase for youngsters that will subside in the future as technology develops. The study concludes with recommendations for future research on how Arabizi transforms as its users grow older.

Zakat is one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith, which is an obligatory form of "charity", and every Muslim is expected to contribute. The use of zakat is not only to purify property but to purify the hearts of zakat payers from selfishness and wealth greed. Although it is part of Muslims obligation to pay zakat, the amount collected recorded is still lower and not optimal. The issue on zakat business payment is not often debated particularly on how to increase the number of business zakat payer. This is because zakat on wealth is more than total zakat on the business. Malaysian zakat institution still faces several obstacles to increase the collection of business zakat. Most of the previous studies on this issue they do not explain more detail about the factor of knowledge of payers on business zakat payment and also the role of zakat institution. Hence, the purpose of this research is to identify corporate responsibility and motivating corporate zakat payment. This research also used the Resource-Based View (RBV) Theory. For this study, data were collected using in-depth interviews as a method of collecting data which is a qualitative method. The reason influenced corporate responsibility and motivating corporate zakat payment are "level of knowledge", and "leadership of zakat institution". The case study is using Hotel Perdana Kota Bharu.
