The purpose of this research is to find out “The reflection of organizational culture on technology usage in secondary education classes”. This is a case study which is a qualitative method. 10 teachers were chosen as participants via chain sampling. The data were collected by means of open-ended questions asked at semi-structured interviews. The researchers recorded the interviewees’ responses by taking notes. The data was processed via content and thematic analyses. Tables were used to present the data. The findings of the study indicate that the school leaders are not able to find efficient solutions to problems about in-class technology usage. It is also determined that virus programs on computers are not up to date. Teachers do not prefer using technology in their classes since they are anxious about falling behind the annual plan and the classes are over-crowded. Another noteworthy finding is that even though some teachers use technology for educational purposes, help each other and share their materials, there are some teachers who do not act responsibly concerning the usage and protection of the devices. This research is generally aimed at strengthening Muhammadiyah union institution in one of Muhammadiyah's business charity in Gorontalo Province, whereas specifically the purpose of this research is to know objective description about reality that happened at campus of Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo from organizational culture that developed on campus This, taking into account the organizational culture found in Muhammadiyah in accordance with the PHIWM. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. Research time started from January to June 2017 From the results show that the employees have not implemented properly. Indicators of hard work still have not shown good results because most employees still do not understand the main duties and functions in work. Discipline indicators are also not well implemented where there are still many employees who enter the campus through the provisions of the time set as well while attending events on campus and when entering the time of prayer still not heed these things. The last indicator is the optimization in the work also has not shown the maximum results because only a few who are able to work effectively in accordance with the work agenda that they set previously.

Many studies on the implementation of quality management programs were carried out by previous researchers. However, the study on the soft or human factors in the implementation of quality management programs is still poorly explored. Therefore, this article aims to analyze soft factors in the implementation of quality management programs at Selangor Islamic Religious Council or Majlis Agama Islam Selangor (MAIS). This study uses a qualitative method involving MAIS as a case study. Semi-structured interviews were used as a data collection method and supported by relevant documents collected from MAIS. A total of fifteen informants comprising top management and MAIS officers were interviewed to obtain in-depth information on the subjects studied. The findings reveal that there are six soft factors emerged in the implementation of quality management programs at MAIS namely leadership, training and development, teamwork, customer focus, Syura and rewards. This study demonstrates that soft factors has helped facilitate the implementation of quality management programs in MAIS. The results of this study can be used as guidance by managers in public or corporate organizatons in their efforts to implement quality management programs effectively.

Many developing countries’ governments have invested heavily in increasing the number of e-government projects. However, there is a lack of clear case material, which describes the potentialities and consequence experienced by governments trying to manage with this change. The Ministry of State for Administrative Development (MSAD) is the organization responsible for the e-Government program in Egypt since early 2004. This paper presents the findings of the CRM case study, one of the e-service projects led by MSAD. Semi-structured interviews have been used as primary data collection techniques. The findings of the study reveal that the main driver to the success of the project is changing the organisational culture and thinking. It is noticed there is an influence of the project on citizens’ encouragement for public participation as it was able to increase their satisfaction levels. Also, the findings emphasised the problems that face the overall e-government program in Egypt. They also explain the relationships among those identified problems of governmental e-service development.

This research wants to find out how far internal control, organization culture and the quality of accounting information system will help the small-medium enterprises (SMEs) to prevent fraud. by applying the case study approach in achieving its aims and objectives. This study is done by a used case study from SMEs in the agriculture industry in Lampung province, Indonesia. The data were collected through observations and semi-structured interviews with employed and managerial staff. This research applied a mixed method in collecting and analyzing data, which were document analyses and interviews. Applying more than a single method in collecting data enables the researcher to compare and to verify the information accuracy (Brewer and Hunter 2006). This method can increase the credibility and validity of the findings because the final bias will depend on one method which later can be avoided (Yin 2012). This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The purpose of this descriptive research is to provide a descriptive, systematic, factual and accurate description of the facts, properties, and relationships between the phenomena investigated. All data that will be used in this study is sourced from the results of respondents' answers to the questionnaire given to employees at PT. XYZ as many as 70 respondents with the unit of analysis are part of Business Control, Human Capital, Finance, Marketing, and Operations. The sampling technique that uses saturated sampling, which is a sampling technique where all members of the population will be used as samples. The results of the study show that some weaknesses of the internal controls have been identified as one of the factors of fraud. The results show that Internal Control Organizational Culture and Quality of Information Accounting have a positive significant effect to prevent fraud.

Population aging is one of the most significant phenomena in the 21st century and this phenomenon has important far-reaching impacts on society and organizations. Organizations and society face challenges with the increase and permanence of individuals at work and these reflexes can be perceived by the organizational culture. Organizational culture and its elements are also present in the academic environment, composed of multiple social interactions. This study aims to identify and analyze the meanings that elements of organizational culture have for higher education professors in the process of aging at public and private educational institutions. For this, semi-structured interviews were conducted with professors from a public and a private institution and the data were analyzed using the comparative case study strategy. The results show that the elements f organizational culture such as values, norms, rules, communication, rites, rituals, ceremonies and beliefs are different in public and private HEIs and the elements heroes, myths, stories, sagas and taboos demonstrate similarities in the institutions. In addition, the elements indicate particularities and the unpreparedness of the HEIs facing the phenomenon of aging in educational work.

Indonesia has the largest economy in Southeast Asia and the seventh largest GDP in the world, yet little is known about Indonesia’s organizational culture. This paper develops a deep understanding of kekeluargaan (kinship), which derives from an anthropological and sociological epistemologies. The paper explores Javanese culture as the foundation of Indonesia’s business context. A qualitative and indigenous approach was designed to determine if the kekeluargaan norm exists in the Indonesian workplace today. Document analysis and semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. The findings show that the kekeluargaan norm acts as the foundation of Indonesia’s organisational culture; with, hormat (respect) and rukun (harmony). Three proposition are given to consider the importance of understanding kekeluargaan as a salient Indonesian organizational culture. The paper concludes managerial and theoretical implications to Indonesian business context.

This research purpose is to examine the informal learning among automotive workshop entrepreneurs. Three research objectives such as informal learning factors, informal learning strategies and informal learning effects are also identified. This study used a case study by using a qualitative method. Semi-structured interviews have been used for data collection. By using purposive sampling, five automotive workshop entrepreneurs in Kota Tinggi were selected as respondents. The findings show that individual needs, environment, interests, motivations and job requirements have been factors that help automotive workshop entrepreneurs involved in informal learning. In addition, reading materials, electronic media, observation, consulting with experts and try and error are informal learning strategies that have been used. Moreover, the effects of informal learning can be seen as the enhancement of knowledge and skills. Meanwhile, there has been a positive change in the attitude of automotive workshop entrepreneurs. This study also provided suggestions for improvement to future researchers.

Responding to an increasingly globalized world, universities are training students to function in a multicultural environment through internationalization. Institutional culture can influence policies and practices for internationalization. Research in internationalization indicate that majority of the studies on the contributions of organizational cultures to internationalization across universities focused on the perspectives of faculty and university senior level administrative personnel and neglected the views of students. This qualitative case study explored students’ understanding of how organizational culture contributes to promote internationalization using international events that occur at two U.S universities. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection. Purposeful and snowball sampling were employed to select domestic and international undergraduate and graduate students for the study. Findings indicate that integration into university family, community relationship, buffering, communication, symbols, and shared values and beliefs cultures are critical to promote higher education internationalization.

Organizations of all sizes are finding it necessary to expand their operations across geographic boundaries in a phenomenon that has been referred to as the globally distributed team. While this trend is typically a response to business opportunity, it is not without challenges. One of those challenges is how to maintain organizational culture as teams become globally distributed. The goal of the research detailed in this chapter was to examine a single organization that has been utilizing distributed teams to facilitate product development. A single case study method was used. Data was gathered through a series of semi-structured interviews with employees who participated in a distributed product development team. The chapter includes a review of the organization’s approach to orienting employees to the organizational culture, maintaining focus on the culture over a period of years, and extending the culture to support globalization while maintaining the integration of distributed teams into the overall organization.
