The research aims to find out the form of code switching, code mixing, and the factors that influence the communication of grade 1a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Private Private Datok Sulaiman Palopo City. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative, problems related to teacher and student communication during the learning process that uses code switching and code mixing. The subject of the study was the teacher 1a grade Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Private Datok Sulaiman Palopo City in the 2019/2020 school year, while the object of this research was the mixing of Indonesian and regional languages in teacher communication. The results of this study are a form of code switching in teacher communication using formal and informal languages and the relationship between languages from Indonesian to regional languages or vice versa. The existence of mixed forms of code in teacher communication in the form of words and phrases. The factors that cause code switching and code mixing through speakers or interlocutors, the presence of a third party, changes in the formal situation to informal or vice versa, and changes in the topic of conversation.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the forms and factors influencing code mixing produced by lecturers. The data of this research is lecturers’ utterances during the subject of speaking and writing learning process in English education study program of STKIP Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. This research used descriptive qualitative method by sociolinguistic approach. The data of this research were recorded, analyzed, and interpreted descriptively. The research result showed that (1) There are four forms of code mixing found such as word, phrase, clause, and repetition word; (2) There are three factors influencing code mixing occurences such as identification of roles, variance identification, and limitation of language utterance. Furthermore, this article is expected to contribute the knowledge related code mixing studies for further research.

Abstrak:Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji proses pembelajaran matematika danmenganalisis peningkatan prestasi belajar melalui permainan mistar bilangan. Metodepenelitian yang digunakanadalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan sebanyak 2siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Temengeng Kabupaten Blorapada semester 2 tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Teknikanalisis yang digunakandeskriptifkomparatif, yaitu membandingkan data hasil antara prasiklus, siklus I, dan siklus II. Hasilpenelitian yang dilaksanakan 2 siklus menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran matematikadengan menggunakan permainan mistar bilangan sangat menyenangkan siswa, sehinggaaktivitas pembelajaran meningkat dari 62,5 menjadi 84,5. Hasil belajar siswa juga meningkatditandai hasil siklus I nilai rata-rata kelas 60,48 dan ketuntasan mencapai 57,10%. Siklus IInilai rata-rata kelas 75,24 dan ketuntasan 85,70%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaranmatematika tentang penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat melalui permainan mistarbilangan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas pembelajaran dan hasil belajar menunjukkan semuasiswa berminat dalam melaksanakan tugas dan memperoleh pengalaman yang menyenangkandalam permainan mistar bilangan. Abstract:The purpose of this research is to study the learningprocess ofmath and analyseincreasing of learning achievement through rulernumbers game. The method usedin thisresearch is class action which is done in2 cycles. The subject of the research are fourth gradestudents of Number 2 PublicElementary Schoolat Temengeng, Blora district in second semesterof the school year 2014/2015. The analysetechnicusedby comparingthe data from precycle,first cycle and second cycle. The results of the research that is done two cycles indicate thatmath learning process by using ruler numbers game can make the students feel pleased sothatlearning activities increase from 62.5 to 84.5. The results of student learning alsoincrease,it can be showed from the average score of the first cycle is 60.48 and the completeness scorereaches57.1%. The average score of thesecond cycle is 75.24 and the completeness scorereaches 85.7%. The conclusion of the research ismath learning about addition and deductionof integer through ruler numbers game can improve learning activity and the results of studentlearning show that all students are interested to obtain the task and get moreenjoyableexperience in using rulernumbers game.

The study attempted to describe the factors affecting the sociolinguistic andstrategic competencies in English among teachers in Higher Education Institutionsin Lipa City and determine the relationship between the demographic characteristicsand their assessments. The study was done during the school year 2010-2011. ThreeHigher Education Institutions in Lipa City were selected as the research locale. Totalenumeration was used as sampling for the study. Both quantitative and qualitativeresearch methods were employed. The respondents agreed that the factors of contextof acquisition, accommodating speech norms and code switching, degree of contactwith second language users and level of confidence affect their sociolinguisticcompetence. Likewise, they also agreed that the factors of questioning skills and useof non-verbal communication affect their strategic competencies. Variations in termsof the relationships of different demographic characteristics and their sociolinguisticand strategic competencies were also established. A general sense, the teachers’diverse characteristics generated different points of view on how the factors affecttheir competencies. This led to the conclusion that they are the ones responsible why the factors influence their competencies. They should be the ones responsible for affecting culture and not culture to affect their language competencies. It is of greatimportance that teachers should take the initiative to study and systematically use thecompetencies which they can work on. HEI administrators should offer professionaldevelopment seminars as these are necessary for the effective use of the teachers’competencies.Keywords: competency, sociolinguistic competence, strategic competency,context of acquisition, code switching, confidence questioning skills, non-verbalcommunication

The study was conducted in order to describe the forms and the functions of code-switching and code-mixing in drama performance of ALE of the students of ICP batch 2017. The study was descriptive qualitative research. The data are collected by observation and documentation in the drama performance in Art and Language Exhibition ‘Prahara Ing Argabelah’. The finding shows that 24 unit analysis of code-switching found 6 used tag-switching, 15 used inter-sentential switching, and 3 used intra-sentential switching. Furthermore, 27 unit analysis of code-mixing performed 21 intra-sentential code mixing, 5 intra-lexical code mixing, and 1 involving a change of pronunciation. Then, from 24 unit analysis of code-switching, the researcher found six functions in the drama conversation. There are 6 addressee specifications, 2 repetitions, 7 interjections, 1 message qualification, 2 personalization and objectivizations, and 6 facilities of expression. Moreover, the researcher just found 3 functions from 27 unit analysis of code-mixing. There are 1 repetition, 2 message qualifications, and 24 facilities of expression.

The aim of the research is to find out endophoric references in Mark Zuckerberg biography and the relationship between discourse analysis and pragmatic. The research used descriptive qualitative research design. The data obtained from Mark Zuckerberg biography written by the biography website. The data are analyzed using Halliday & Hasan’s theory (1976) of reference cohesion reference is one of the cohesive devices. The result shows that endophoric reference exists in Mark Zuckerberg biography endophoric. Endophoric consist of two types, the first is anaphoric and the second is cataphoric. In this research there are five type cohesive devices that are usually used in texts like substitution, references, ellipsis, lexical cohesion, and conjunctions. In the research found that cataphoric is dominant than anaphoric because the subject is located in the beginning of the sentences. Cohesive devices not only focused on lexical cohesion, but also focused on ellipsis and substitution and reference.

Abstrak: Alih kode adalah gejala peralihan pemakaian bahasa karena berubahnya situasi, Campur kode dapat terjadi saat seorang penutur mencampur dua bahasa atau ragam bahasa tanpa ada situasi atau keadaan berbahasa yang menuntut percampuran tersebut. Alih kode dan campur kode tidak hanya terjadi dalam percakapan, namun juga terdapat dalam bentuk lagu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan wujud alih kode dan campur kode dalam lirik lagu “yuna ito” pada album heart. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Analisis dilakukan dengan membaca dan memahami teks lirik lagu serta melakukan reduksi data dan mengklarifikasi data berupa wujud alih kode dan campur kode. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan dua data yaitu data alih kode dan campur kode. Data alih kode yang ditemukan adalah wujud alih kode antar kalimat terdapat 9 data, wujud alih kode dalam kalimat terdapat 8 data, dan wujud alih kode tag sebanyak 2 data. Adapun wujud campur kode ditemukan data sebagai berikut, penyisipan unsur berwujud kata berupa 7 data, penyisipan unsur berwujud frasa sebanyak 10 data, penyisipan unsur berwujud klausa sebanyak 12 data, penyisipan unsur berwujud perulangan kata sebanyak 4 data, penyisipan unsur berwujud baster sebanyak 14 data.Kata kunci: Sosiolinguistik, Alih kode, Campur kode, Lirik lagu Abstract: Code switching is a symptom of language switching due to changing situations. Code mixing can occur when a speaker mixes two languages or varieties of languages without any situation or language condition that demands such mixing. Code switching and code mixing not only occur in conversation, but also in the form of songs. This study aims to describe the form of code switching and code mixing in the lyrics of the song "yuna ito" on the album heart. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The analysis was carried out by reading and understanding the song lyric text as well as doing data reduction and clarifying the data in the form of code switching and code mixing. In this study, two data were found, namely code switching and code mixing data. The code transfer data found were the form of code switching between sentences, there were 9 data, the form of code switching in a sentence contained 8 data, and the form of code switching was 2 data. As for the form of code mixing, the data were found as follows, insertion of word elements in the form of 7 data, insertion of phrase tangible elements as much as 10 data, insertion of clause tangible elements as many as 12 data, insertion of word repetitive tangible elements as many as 4 data, insertion of baster tangible elements as many as 14 data. This research focused on the analysis of the types of code-mixing and code-switching between Maudy Ayunda and Robert in the interview in Perspektif Metro TV on Monday 30th December 2019. The researcher applied sociolinguistic theory, especially the theories on types and reasons of code-mixing and code-switching proposed by Hoffman (1991) and how many codes in their utterances based on Myers-Scotton theory (2006). This research applied the descriptive qualitative method. After analyzing the data, there are 71 cases of code-mixing and 68 cases of code-switching. For the types of code-mixing, there is 63 intra-sentential, 15 intra-lexical and 3 involving a change in pronunciation. For types of code-switching, there is 64 inter-sentential, and 4 are established with the previous speaker. For the reasons of code-mixing/code-switching, the researcher found 31 data of talking about a particular topic, 1 data of quoting somebody else, 2 being emphatic about something, 6 of repetition used for classification and 1 of clarifying the speech content for the interlocutor. For the matrix in code-mixing, Indonesian 82% as matrix language and English 18% as an embedded language, and in code-switching, Indonesian 54% as matrix language and English 46%as an embedded language.

The aims of this study are to describe and explain the form of code switching and code mixing, to identify the factors of code switching and code mix and to identify the purpose and function of code switching and code mixing in the Acehnese students in Yogyakarta. This is descriptive qualitative research by sociolinguistic approach. The method used in this research is observation method and record technique. The data of this research are the speechs of Acehnese students who are studying in Yogyakarta which contains of code switching and code mixing. Data were identified and classified and then analyzed by existing sociolinguistic theory.The results show that: first, the form of code transfer in Acehnese student communication in Yogyakarta includes the switch of code from Acehnese Language to Indonesian and the switch of code from Indonesian to Aceh; second, the form of mixed code in the form of insertion of words, phrases, and clauses; third, the factors of code switching and code mixing are speakers, participants, third speakers, speech mode and discussion topics; fourth, the purpose and function of code switching and code mixing in the Acehnese students are to familiarize the situation, to make a sense of humor, to look prestigious, to respect the other person and to tell the secret.Key words        : Code Switching, Code Mixing, Sociolinguistic
