This research aims to analyze the quality of water in the industrial and residential areas. This research was conducted for two months. The parameters analyzed in this research are pH, TDS (Total Dissolved Solid), EC (Electrical Conductivity), and water temperature, using pH meter and TDS meter. The average results for industrial area (Bekasi) are pH 7.31, TDS 138.14 ppm, EC 205.63 µs, and temperature at 29.38oC. Meanwhile, the results for residential area (Depok) are pH 8.04, TDS 115.50 ppm, EC 190.40 µs, and temperature at 28.61oC. From these data, it can be concluded that water in these two regions can be consumed, compared with the quality standard in Regulation of Minister of Health No. 32 Year 2017.

High concentration of contaminants in drinking water can affect human health. This study assessed quality of groundwater at industrial and residential areas of Sango Ota, Ogun State. Water samples were collected in triplicates from 8 wells at industrial and residential areas and analyzed for its physicochemical properties. The pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solid (TDS), nitrate, sulphate, total suspended solid (TSS), total hardness (TH), iron, zinc, copper, lead, nickel, chromium and cadmium concentrations in the water samples were determined following American Public Health Association (APHA) procedure. Results showed that pH of 50 % of the wells were lower than minimum limit of 6.5 recommended by WHO. Sulphate, TH and iron in the water were significantly (p < 0.05) higher at residential area than industrial area. Electrical conductivity exhibited significant (p < 0.01) correlation with TDS (r = 0.701**) and NO32- (r = 0.922**) at residential area. At the industrial area however, concentration of salts in water samples was highly associated with SO42- (r = 0.864**) and Cd (r = 0.587**). Across locations of groundwater, iron and lead were above allowable WHO limits in drinking water. Cadmium was also above drinking limit at location T4 of the residential area. Consumers of groundwater in the study area are prone to health related challenges of heavy metal toxicity.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the quality of water in residential areas and industries, East Jakarta. Research was conducted to analyze the quality of pH, Ec, TDS, the temperature using a multimeter (waterproof tester). The results of this research are as follows: 1. The valueof pH (8.0-8.9), EC (340 μS-144 μS), the value of TDS (171 ppm-438 ppm), the value of temperature (30.10°C -31.54 °C). 2. Industrial activity and population affect water quality. The water in the area of East Jakarta still safe used/consumed.

This study was conducted to assess the building coverage and environmental quality of residential area in Nkpor Uno Idemili North L.G, Nigeria. The study employed a descriptive survey design to find out level of compliance of buildings to planning regulations. One hundred and eighty (180) were interviewed using a modified instrument (questionnaire). The data collected were coded into SPSS and analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results showed that 72(40%) reported inadequate setback as a major effect of over built buildings, 55(30.6%) reported inadequate free air space, 37(20.6%) said inadequate ventilation and lighting. Also, the nature of drainage system provided in residential areas; 76(42.2%) has no drainage system, 70(38.9%) has close drainage system. The building coverage of residential houses in the study area; 60(33.3%) has their building falls under 51-75% for over built, 48(26.7%) has their building falls under 76-100% for overbuilt. For the factors influencing the percentage of area built upon, 57(31.7%) has greed and no money to acquire a large plot of land, 47(26.0%) has no land space to built their desirable house. Then, non adherence to provision of adequate ventilation and lighting in the residential houses in the study area affects the dwellers’ health and such factors can promote communicable diseases. In conclusion, it was observed that the compliance rate was not encouraging because the planning regulations recorded very low compliance as include set–back from property boundaries; inadequate free air space; lost of aesthetic values, and inadequate ventilation and lighting. Therefore, government should embark on enforcement of land use plan, and strategic plans for various towns and villages to accommodate its utilities and facilities.

In Latvia, after restoration of independence on May 4, 1990, the economy was restructured. In Liepaja, without analyzing city's historical planning and not finding successful solutions for inhabitants, many factories closed down. Not getting to know with the Detailed Plan of the residential area "Green Grove", professionally developed by architect Irena Rubauska, and lobbying individual interests, specialists of "Group 93" Ltd. produced a new territorial plan for Liepaja. In 2007, Latvian in prison reform was started. The first prison was decided to build in the residential area "Green Grove". The object of research – Liepaja residential district "Green Grove". Research problem – functional and structural changes of "Green Grove" are implemented without performing the analysis of earlier urban development concepts and do not ensure harmonious development of inhabitants’ living environment. The goal of research – analyze the influence of Liepaja Economic Zone and city development strategies on quality of inhabitants’ living conditions in residential areas of "Green Grove". Main methods applied – this study is based on analysis of archive documents, projects, cartographic materials of urban planning, study of published literature and inspection of buildings in nature.

This study was done to determine the quality of water from hand-dug wells in Kuje, Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria. The study area lies between latitudes 080 53’ 24’’N and 080 53’ 47’’N and longitude 070 14’ 24’’E and 070 14’ 35’’E. Water from twenty wells were randomly sampled. The physical properties investigated are pH, temperature, total dissolved solid (TDS) and electrical conductivity. The chemical analysis involved determination of the concentration of anions (SO42-, HCO3-, Fl-, CO3-, Cl-, NO3) and cations (Ca2+, Mg+, Na+,K+, Zn+, Fe2+, Cu2+. A piper diagram based on the relative percentages of the ions was plotted for classification according to hydrogeochemical facies of each water sample based on their dominant ions. The Piper diagram indicated Ca2+ and HCO3- as the dominant ions and therefore it is Ca−HCO3 water type. The physical properties of the water were found to be good based on World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines and National Drinking Water Quality Standard (NDWQS) and therefore water in the study area is safe for human consumption.KEYWORDS: groundwater, hydrochemical facies, anion, cation, piper diagram

The quality of water in a river is affected by its natural condition and pollutant input originated from activities conducted around the river. In the Siak river, however, the black water effect influences thedistribution of the pollutant in general. To understand the quality of water in the black water affected by an area, a study was conducted from December 2015 to July 2016. The water was sampled during lowand high tides, in 8 sampling sites that were distributed along the river, from the mouth of the river in Siak Sri Indrapura Regency to upstream in Palas Village, Kampar Regency (around 180 km from the mouth ofthe river). The results showed that in the downstream of the Siak river, the quality of water during the low and high tides was worse than the 3rd Class Water Quality Standard issued by the Government Regulation (GR No. 82 / 2001) except for the concentration of nitrate, total coliform, Hg, oil and fat. The BOD was 14-39.2 mg/L (the high tide) and 17-45.6 mg/L (the low tide), COD was 51.76-80.62 mg/L (thehigh tide) and 51.76-69.12 mg/L (the low tide), NH3-N was 0.03-1.09 mg/L (the high tide) and 0.03-0.92 mg/L (the low tide), while the NO2-N was 0.13-0.17 mg/L (the high tide) and 0.13-0.22 mg/L (the low tide). Based on the Storet Index, the water of the downstream in the Siak river during the low and the high tide can be categorized as heavily polluted (score -52 to -70), and it tends to decline during the high tide.

Quality of Groundwater has assessed for irrigation purpose to get the suitability of water. Water samples has analysed by employing different parameters: Electrical Conductivity, Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR), Soluble Sodium Percentage (SSP), Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC), Kelly’s Ratio, Potential Salinity and Corrosive Ratio. Suitability of Water for irrigation has presented by the diagram based on the combination of Electrical Conductivity and Sodium Absorption Ratio suggested by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Livelihood of the study area depends on the Agriculture and allied activities so it becomes more important to analyse the quality of water for irrigation.Keywords: Irrigation, Electrical Conductivity, Sodium Absorption Ratio, Kelly’s Ratio, Soluble Sodium Percentage.

The aim of the article was the analysis of the physicochemical quality of water within the hydropower plant on the Ślęza River in Wrocław (south-west Poland) in the context of the European Union's classification of water quality, as well as an assessment of the potential impact of hydropower plants on this quality. The study uses the results of monthly tests from three measurement points within the hydropower plant on the Ślęza River in the city of Wrocław (points upstream and downstream the hydropower plant and the reference point), from the period June 2018 to May 2020. The analyses covered 10 physicochemical parameters, i.e.: pH, electrical conductivity (EC), water temperature, turbidity, NH4-N, NO3-N, NO2-N, total phosphorus, dissolved oxygen and BOD5. The conducted analysis showed that the hydropower plant has no clear influence on the physicochemical quality of the water in the Ślęza River, other interactions present in the catchment area are more important. From the effects visible in the results, a decrease in the amplitudes of water temperature downstream the hydropower plant compared to the other points was noted, as well as a lower median of its value (statistically significant changes). An additional noticeable effect was the increase in water oxygenation below the damming, but it was not statistically significant. It has been shown that the physicochemical condition of water at the tested points does not meet the assumed standards for 8 out of 9 parameters (except for water temperature). The largest exceedances of the limit values concerned NO2-N (up to 923% of the norm), and the most consistent, almost constantly occurring – EC (23 out of 24 months). The reason for the high NO2-N content was most probably surface runoff from the fields and the re-suspension of sediments rich in nutrients, while in the case of EC, its high values result from the specificity of the catchment area.

The control of environmental quality of literal areas in EEC is mainly concerned with the microbiological quality of water (direct and indirect contact). Data concerning the microbiological quality of sand in different beaches of Portugal (three main coastal areas) are presented. Based on those results, data available In the literature and epidemiological information, a preliminary guideline criterion for the microbiological control of sand is proposed, to complete criteria used in “Blue Flag” distinction, accorded to high environmental quality beaches.

The total population of District Kuta Utara 2014 recorded 68.422 people with an average population density of 2,021 people/km2 while the number of tourism accommodation facilities (hotels, villas, restaurants) recorded 399 pieces. The rapid of population growth and the development of tourism accommodation facilities require ground water more increasing. Intake of large amounts of ground water potential to cause pollution/ sea water intrusion. This study aims to determine the quality of the groundwater, knowing distribution maps sea water intrusion and to predict the level of sea water intrusion coming years. This research method uses descriptive quantitative method. Furthermore, to determine the quantity and quality of ground water was measured groundwater levels and analysis of the parameters of temperature, total dissolved solid, pH, chloride, hardness and electrical conductivity of the 60 sample wells. Results of analysis of each of the key parameters that can be mapped and known overlay distribution maps sea water intruded area. The observation of the quantity and quality of groundwater in coastal areas of Kuta Utara subdistrict shows the range of the depth of the ground water level between -5.15 meters to -22.16 meters. Results of the analysis of ground water quality of the 60 groundwater samples showed that there has been a decline in the quality of ground water is as much as 14 samples total dissolved solid (TDS) the highest reaches 1,122 mg/ l, the highest electrical conductivity reached 1,677 ìMhos / cm and the highest chloride reached 532, 5 mg/l. Distribution maps sea water intruded area shows that in coastal areas troubled district of Kuta Utara indicated seawater intrusion, especially in the area of Petitenget and Batubelig, Kerobokan Kelod Village area of 78.44 Ha. Prediction of sea water intrusion in 2022 was highest in the area of tourism accommodation caused by ground water extraction enough much, kind of gray-brown soil regosol has a rough texture and high permeability characteristics so it is easy to pass groundwater.
