The course of political science at the master’s level is examined in horizontal perspectives with interpretive and constructionism as a philosophic base. The objective of this article is two folds. The first is to review the limitation of the current courses, application, and evaluation manuals and the second is to envisage the application mode and its faculties. The study is based on primary as well as secondary sources of information. The information is collected through a documentary (office record) and telephonic survey.  The study follows a mixed method of research.  Shifting in semester system from the pre-existing annual system is a reformative step towards quality education. But there are still some challenges in connecting the syllabus and curricular activities to the market. To some extent, the objective of the current course is vague, unspecific, and general. The lack of minimum number of faculties in the periphery and expertise in the Kathmandu valley is a problem for the application of the course. It is needed to train the faculties and adopt more contextual teaching-learning approach as envisioned by the new education policy, 2076. It identifies some contextual issues to make the course more specific, practicable, and applicable. It suggests an alternative learning and evaluation pattern that covers complexities like Covid and the lack of faculties.

PurposeThis study aims to explore what are the past trends in internationalisation of higher education (IoHE) in the country and how India's higher education (HE) internationalisation strategies are aligned to make India a regional education hub and a storehouse of global talent pool.Design/methodology/approachThis paper relies heavily on secondary sources of information. Document analysis and policy reviews to analyse the internationalisation strategies as well as quantitative data analysis to map the trends have been used.FindingsAt present, internationalisation in India is lopsided and may become a drain on Indian economy if not balanced soon. India is now focussing to correct its adverse inbound–outbound international student (IS) mobility in order to become attractive for international HE community; India aims to strategically “prepare to host,” which is subject to institutional abilities to implement new schemes and programmes. International credibility of Indian HE rests largely on quality augmentation.Research limitations/implicationsThe study is based purely on secondary sources. It would be interesting to augment further with primary-level interactions with both policymakers and practitioners.Practical implicationsIt is a mix of academic and non-academic factors leading to improved quality of teaching, learning and competency-building in the higher education institutions (HEIs) rather than financial doles and incentives that should draw international academics to India in order to make the global traffic two way and financially viable for the country. IoHE to become viable and financially sustainable requires more comprehensive institutional efforts and mechanisms to bring in fee-paying ISs, research grants and multinational industry endowments.Social implicationsWith more fee-paying outbound students and more non-fee-paying or highly subsidised inbound student growth, the situation is already critical in terms of financial implications. This can have long-term implications of societal divide arising out of “global academic impoverishment” of majority Indian students unless state-supported assistance to ensure equitable access to international opportunities is provided to the needy students in the country.Originality/valueThis article is an analytical update on India's HE internationalisation and can be a valuable resource for policymakers, analysts as well as researchers.

Constructing federal democratic republic is a complex process. Both old and new democracies face different forms of challenges in building and maintaining, either internally or externally. Hence, this paper assesses the challenges in developing and maintaining democratic republic Nepal. With the help of secondary sources of information, it argues, building democracy in Nepal is undermined by foundational challenges and deepening challenges. Quality primary education has become a first and foremost matter of concern of our country in the twenty-first century. In Bangladesh, achievement in primary education is tremendous, though there is a question in quality education. In this case, there are numerous problems that resist the process of quality education at the primary level and lack of effective academic supervision is one of them. The study is descriptive in nature and it collects relevant data and information from secondary sources through content analysis. The study highlights on the general role and functionalities of the Assistant Upazila (sub-district) Education Officer (AUEO) as a supervisor in improving the teaching-learning process and to improve quality primary education. It tries to make a conceptual analysis on different aspects of academic supervisor, quality education in school, supervision and inspection, quality assurance as well as teaching-learning. The study reveals that low support and morale, inspection rather than academic supervision, lack of dedication and professionalism, etc are the main issues of academic supervision which hamper quality primary education in Bangladesh. The study recommends that AUEO’s role as a supervisor should assist the execution of the numerous roles and functionalities which will progress the teaching-learning situation in the input process to improve quality primary education in Bangladesh.

This paper examines the history and current situation of foreign labour migration in Nepal, which is in increasing trend. This paper highlights on some major push and pull factors, impacts of labour migration and remittances. The role and impacts of remittances in Nepal are also another key issue of this paper. The objective of paper is to discuss historical aspects and highlights the role of remittances in Nepal. The paper is developed with the help of secondary sources of information and discussed only on Nepalese foreign labours. The existing exploitative working environment in destinations of Nepalese migrations labpurs, lack of skills and trainings among labour migrants including government to government agreement between labour sending (Nepal) and labour receiving countries to protect rights of labour migrants also has been discussed. This paper also highlights the need of effective foreign labour policies based on scientific research. There is need of reliable and proper environment of investment of remittances in productive sectors as well as use of migrant's skills and knowledge to achieve prosperity of nation.

Pentecostalism as a new wave of Christianity became more pronounced in 1970's and beyond in Nigeria. Since then scholars of Religion, History, Sociology and Political Science have shown keen interest in the study of the Churches known as Pentecostals because of the impact they have made on the society. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was established by Pastor Josiah Akindayomi in Lagos,Nigeria in 1952. After his demise, he was succeeded by Pastor Adeboye Adejare Enock. The problem of study of this research was an examination of the expansion of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to North America, Caribbean and Canada. The missionary activities of the church could be regarded as a reversed mission in the propagation of Christianity by Africans in the Diaspora. The methodology adopted was historical. The primary and secondary sources of information were also germane in the research. The findings of the research indicated that the Redeemed Christian Church of God was founded in North America by Immigrants from Nigeria. Pastor Adeboye Enock Adejare had much influence on the Church within and outside the country because of his charisma. The Church has become a place of refuge for many immigrants. They are also contributing to the economy of the United States of America. However, the members of the Church were faced with some challenges, such as security scrutiny by the security agencies. In conclusion, the RCCGNA was a denomination that had been accepted and embraced by Nigerians and African immigrants in the United States of America.

An overview of the Western European literature shows that one of the most distinct trends in consumption that has been noted in the recent years is globally increasing environmental and social awareness. The issue of consumers' behaviours and attitudes towards "socially responsible products" has been gaining importance in Polish economy as well. This article evaluates the development prospects of ethical and ecological consumption in Poland vis-a-vis Western European countries. The comparative analysis being part of the article utilizes primary sources of information, i.e. interviews with a representative sample of Polish adults, as well as secondary sources of information. A factor analysis or, more precisely, a principal component analysis, allowed dividing Polish consumers into groups that were typologically homogeneous in respect of their sensitivity to various aspects of business ethics and ecology.

AbstractThe purpose of this research paper was to explore how HIV/AIDS manipulate nurses’ perception of their workload and pay in the era of HIV/AIDS in Gaborone and the surrounding areas of Botswana. The health care sector in Botswana is overwhelmed by HIV/AIDS, and this takes a toll on the nurses because they are the ones at the forefront in the fight against this demanding and risky illness at the workplace. The focus in this study was on the workload and pay in the era of HIV/AIDS. The general picture that emerges from the current study is that nurses are dissatisfied with their pay and to some extent the workload and this supports some of the earlier studies which reinforce their importance in the workplace. The study used both primary and secondary sources of information. For the purpose of this study convenience sampling was used. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The study adapted Index of Organizational Reactions (IOR). The findings of the current study will help the government to design strategies that will increase the level of job satisfaction among the nurses in the public health care sector of Botswana.

Electronic and print resources usages and preferences among undergraduates of Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria has been examined. The study population consist of all undergraduates of the University, from which a sample of 250 that is 10 percent of the population was selected. The instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. 231 copies of the questionnaire were completed and returned, representing 92.45 per cent response rate. Results from the study revealed that 110 (47.6 %) of the respondents preferred print resources, while interestingly, the same number 110 (47.6 %) preferred electronic resources; 11(4.8 %) of the participants did not provide any response to the question. It therefore implies that both print and electronic resources are complementary in meeting the information needs of undergraduates. However, majority of the respondents indicated that they usually supplement print materials with electronic resources or vice versa. The test of hypotheses revealed that user preferences were influenced by demographic factors such as age, course and level of study. Libraries should maintain hybrid collections, as both resources were found to be relevant sources of information for teaching, learning and research is recommended.

Resumo: Este artigo objetiva, sobretudo, promover o debate teórico-epistemológico sobre os desafios e possibilidades do desenvolvimento de ensino-aprendizagem interdisciplinar em razão das matrizes curriculares adotadas. É fato que a discussão sobre interdisciplinaridade no trabalho docente, apesar de não ser tão nova, encontra-se em alta e mantém interfaces com outras categorias do gênero, principalmente quando se relaciona com a gestão e as práticas educativas em sala de aula. Nesse sentido, para a produção deste artigo, seguiram-se os caminhos metodológicos da pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo descritiva com base em revisão de literatura de fontes secundárias de livros, artigos, legislação e documentos oficiais. No tocante à abordagem, acolheu-se a qualitativa, visando análise mais aprofundada das categorias elencadas, a saber: interdisciplinaridade, etnociência, multidisciplinaridade, pluridisciplinaridade e transdisciplinaridade, destacadas nos respectivos tópicos deste artigo. Com relação à técnica interpretacional, recorreu-se à análise do discurso na perspectiva da relação indissociável do histórico com o social. Como conclusão sucinta, deixou-se posto que as práticas educativas de forma interdisciplinar são dinamizadoras e facilitadoras para uma compreensão mais ampla e diversa do ensino-aprendizagem. Desse modo, possibilitam a formulação de um saber crítico-reflexivo, promovendo a integração de conteúdos nas mais diversas áreas de conhecimento, incluindo, inclusive, o arcabouço cultural dos saberes populares e não formais aos formais e científicos.Palavras-chave: Interdisciplinaridade. Multidisciplinaridade.Abstract: This article aims, above all, to promote the theoretical-epistemological debate on the challenges and possibilities of the development of interdisciplinary teaching-learning due to the curricular matrices adopted. It is a fact that the discussion about interdisciplinarity in teaching work, although not so new, is up and maintains interfaces with other categories of the genre, especially when it is related to management and educational practices in the classroom. In this sense, for the production of this article, we followed the methodological paths of bibliographic research of the descriptive type based on literature review of secondary sources of books, articles, legislation and official documents. With regard to the approach, the qualitative approach was adopted, aiming at a more in-depth analysis of the categories listed, namely: interdisciplinarity, ethnoscience, multidisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, highlighted in the respective topics of this article. With regard to the interpretative technique, we used the analysis of discourse in the perspective of the inseparable relationship between historical and social. As a succinct conclusion, it is emphasized that interdisciplinary educational practices are dynamic and facilitating a broader and more diverse understanding of teaching and learning. In this way, its allows the formulation of a critical-reflexive knowledge, promoting the integration of contents in the most diverse areas of knowledge, including the cultural framework of popular and non-formal knowledge to formal and scientific knowledge.Keywords: Interdisciplinarity. AbstractThis chapter discusses the assumptions, implementation and deliverables of an action research project in a selected Polish class of integrated form. The main objective of the project was to trigger changes in the learning–teaching process based on the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach and thus promote inclusive education. The action research lasted one school semester. The empirical data, mainly qualitative, triangulating various sources of information and synthesising perspectives, were used to identify specific topics and threads identified in the gathered inputs, to present it in an orchestrated manner and to interpret it. It has been indicated that UDL approach implementation has a positive impact on the course of the teaching–learning process and optimises it to enhance the activity, commitment, self-reliance and responsibility of students and develops their cooperation, which breeds inclusion in education. Meanwhile, it stimulates teachers to change their mindset with a view to the essence of success in education and supports their daily practice.
