[Acharya Kuntak's theory of Vakrokti is considered to be a coherent theory in Eastern literature as it has tried to include the poetic values of the earlier Acharyas. In this theory, Kuntak discusses six different types of Vakrokti and its variants. In this article, the study-analysis of the well-known Nepali poet Mohan Koirala's long poem Nadi Kinar Ka Majhi (Fisherman by the river bank) has been analyzed on the basis of Padapurvardha Vakrata among the six distinctions presented by him. For this, first of all, by briefly discussing the theory of Vakrokti and Padapurvardha Vakrata, the study of Padapurvardha Vakrata found in the poem has been analyzed by presenting the verses of the poem as examples to clarify the context of how Padapurvardha Vakrata has been used in the poem. This article is based on the deductive method, analyzing the material according to the descriptive method using materials from both primary and secondary sources. It is concluded that the poet Koirala's discerning poetry has successfully and meaningfully used the Padapurvardha Vakrata described in Eastern poetry.]

In this theory, which seeks to incorporate the beliefs of the earlier Acharyas, Kuntak discusses the six distinctions of satire and its variants. In this article, the study analysis of some contemporary Nepali prose poems has been analyzed on the basis of chromaticism out of the six distinctions of irony presented by him. For this, first of all, a brief theoretical discussion has been given about the theory of curvature and chronology. Similarly, in order to clarify the context of how the use of colloquialism has been used in contemporary Nepali prose poetry, various contemporary poetic poems have been presented as examples and the study of colloquialism found in them has been analyzed. This study focuses on the poems published in the seventies of Bikram Samvat and analyzes the poems on the basis of all the six distinctions of chromaticism. The material of both primary and secondary sources has been analyzed according to the descriptive method. Basically, this study based on the deductive method has concluded that the successful and meaningful use of the chromatic descriptions described in Eastern poetry in contemporary Nepali prose poetry has been found.]

The concept of work life balance emerged during the Industrial Revolution. In those days Industrialists agreed upon labour union’s demand of ‘One day off’. Later on, this is converted into ‘two day off’ which is followed in all the western countries. Grady et al (2008) stated that the term’ work-life balance’ is more comprehensive and includes “family, community, recreation and personal time.” The objectives of the research are to study the impact of practices followed in Norway and India on work-life balance, to gain insight on Google company’s work-life balance practices, to identify and suggest vital work-life balance practices that can be applied in Indian context. The research is descriptive in nature. The data has been collected mainly from secondary sources – research papers, annual report of companies (employee engagement) and articles. The tools used for achieving objectives and analysing are comparison method, case study analysis and survey method. The comparative and case study analysis shows that the education system, job security, income inequality are some of the factors which hinder the work-life balance in India. Flexi hours, time for creativity, family participation in workplace boost the enthusiasm and morale of the employees. The research is based on secondary sources. The primary data would more effectively convey the problems faced in work life balance. The work-life balance practices followed by only one company is taken into the study due to time constraint. The comparative analysis of work-life balance practices of big films would give better insight and would help in deriving dynamic solution. The sector centred, institution centred or gender centred study will give broader overview of the work-life balance. The search acts a base for comparative analysis.

Cultism is prevalent in most tertiary institutions in Africa. There is no gainsay that this vice is generally unacceptable from both socio-cultural and religious viewpoints. Unfortunately, despite the detrimental tendencies associated with it, some students actively engage in it. Hence, various governmental and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have risen to campaign against cultism in tertiary institutions. The thrust of this research, therefore, is to investigate the roles of Christian campus fellowships in the fight against cultism amongst students of Nigerian universities, with reference to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). It also explores the challenges which the activities of cult groups pose to the university community. Utilising the descriptive method of data analysis, this work discovered that Christian campus fellowships are both a significant and a veritable tool in the fight against cultism in the UNN. As part of her primary and social responsibilities, Christian campus fellowships preach and teach against cult activities in tertiary institutions. They also intervene through some philanthropic gestures and other ecclesiastical activities which are primarily geared towards inculcating right values and godly characters in students, encouraging students who are members of cult groups to denounce their membership and also discouraging students from joining cult groups. The data for this research were drawn from both primary (personal communication) and secondary sources (books, journals and internet materials). The major finding of this article reveals that Christian campus fellowships in the UNN, have made remarkable strides in the campaign against the involvement of students in cultism.Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: The article explicitly lays bare the contributions of Christian campus fellowships in order to bring cult practices to a barest minimum amongst students of the UNN. The study contributes to modern discourses on juvenile delinquency with respect to disciplines such as religion, sociology, social work and psychology.

Marine clays are distinguished by high compressibility and low shear strength. It has been reported that lime stabilisation is very much potent, and can be used as an ideal ground improvement technique in the case of marine clays. Cochin marine clays are sometimes abundant in primary and secondary sources of sulphates of sodium, lithium, potassium and calcium. Different types of sulphates may have different impact on lime stabilised clays. Present study investigates the effect of different types of sulphates in lime treated marine clays. Marine clay samples were collected by auger boring and all the physical properties were determined. Sulphate content in clay was also found. Clay samples were treated with 6% of lime and 4% of sodium sulphate, lithium sulphate and potassium sulphate and were kept for various curing periods of zero days, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. Atterberg limits, free swell index, unconfined compressive strength and pH of all samples were determined. It was found that the plasticity and swelling characteristics of lime treated clay were influenced by the addition of sulphates. It was also found that all the three types of sulphates had detrimental effect on the gain in strength of lime stabilised soil. But the effect varies significantly with the type of sulphate present in the clay. This necessitates the importance of determination of the type sulphate present in the marine clay, before planning the soil stabilisation using lime.
