Employees’ job satisfaction is a leading factor in determining their organizational commitment. The organizational commitment level affects the employees’ decision to leave or remain in their organization. The banking sector of Nepal has been facing a problem of high employee mobility from one bank to another. In the backdrop of this context, this survey intends to examine the effect of satisfaction with colleagues, promotion, and the nature of work on the three dimensions of organizational commitment using the Ordinary Least Squares model in the context of private bank employees in Nepal. This study used a survey method to collect data from 199 employees working in private banks in Nepal, using a standardized questionnaire. The collected data were coded, entered, and processed in Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 25. The outcomes of the study – satisfaction with the colleagues, promotion, and the nature of the work – had a significant positive impact on the affective and normative commitment of the employees, but the regressors had an insignificant effect on continuance commitment. The employees’ satisfaction from their colleagues, promotion, and the nature of work positively improves their affective and normative commitment. Nevertheless, this study found the predictor variables as irrelevant factors for explaining the continuance commitment of the employees in the context of the study. This study’s contribution is the idea of how satisfaction with colleagues, promotion, and work nature contribute to the three dimensions of organizational commitment among Nepalese private bank employees.

The population of the study was secondary level teachers in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts, and a number of them were selected  using the principles of purposive sampling. The size of the sample was 232. Results: The study reveals that affective, continuance, normative as well as overall commitment of teachers in school do not differs in terms of gender and education level. However, affective commitment increases as an increase in service years whereas continuance commitment increases at the beginning years of service for five years. This study aimed at determining the influence of socio demographic factors on the income generated from Sentul chicken farming in Ciamis Regency. A survey method was conducted to the members of seven farmer groups institutionally assisted by the Ciamis Regency Government Unit. The descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis were used to describe the profile of respondents and to analyze the influence of socio demographic factors on the income generated from Sentul chicken farming. The results showed that the farmers’ length of education was 11.8 years with 5.8 years experience raising the Sentul chicken while the farm size was averagely 9 heads of chicken. The Sentul chicken farmmaintained in 70 days with semi-intensive production system has generated income ranging from IDR 756,000 to IDR 19,900,000. Farming experience and farm size significantly influenced the income generated from Sentul chicken farming. Increase the farming experience of Sentul chicken farmers and enlarging Sentul chicken farm size with semi-intensive production system may improve the income generated from Sentul chicken farming in Ciamis Regency.

This study examined the relations of organizational commitment and demographic factors with objectively measured absence frequency data of 106 staff at a UK school, collected over a 1-year period. We found significant associations of commitment and absenteeism, with high affective and normative commitment, and low continuance commitment being associated with lower levels of absence. Age moderated two of these associations, with low normative commitment and high continuance commitment predicting absence most strongly for older workers. Our findings help practitioners and researchers to understand how commitment may interact with other factors to predict absence. Interaction effects in our data showed that absence frequencies tended to be highest for older workers who felt a lower sense of obligation to their organization, or a lack of alternatives to their present employment.

The entire world is passing through great uncertainty due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are, primarily, two major visible threats that the world is facing at this juncture. This has affected the lives of almost all, especially the poor and marginalized population, agricultural labourers, and the informal sector workforce. India needs to be more proactive and planned when it comes to countering the social and economic effects of any pandemic in future. In this context, it is of equal importance to observe the threat perception prevailing among people belonging to different demographic groups. Threat perception is a serious aftershock of any pandemic that restricts general public in returning to their normal socioeconomic life. It has huge socio-economic back fall. Under this study, the researchers have used survey method to collect primary data on the threat perception of people coming from different demographic groups. The study focus to identify whether there is any variation in threat perception of people regarding COVID-19 pandemic with reference to several demographic groups. To analyze the variation among different demographic groups Kruskal-Wallis Test, popularly known as the H-Test, is used. Henceforth, Post- Hoc Test is also performed to identify the significant differences in threat perception among different pair of sub groups, where demographic factors significantly impact threat perception. The researchers have also conducted Ordinal Logistic Regression to identify the level of variation in dependent variable, explained by independent variables. The variation in threat perception among peoples regarding this disease will definitely have huge impact on their socio-economic lifestyles. The research shows mixed results. The researchers have also suggested some recommendations based on the results of the study to control or rather to bridge up threat perceptional variations regarding COVID-19 for protecting socio-economic backbone of the country.
