Tourism industry plays a decisive role in the overall development of Nepal. Nepal has got a very strong power of nature because of its natural and cultural diversification. Tourism has a great role to play to improve country's image in international arena. Tourism is a driving force for the economic development of Nepal. It is a major contributor to Nepalese economy. Tourism sector is considered an answer to strengthen the national economy, improve living standard and reduce poverty. Surkhet District represents the complex cross-section of linguistics, cultural, religious, and biological diversities of the nation. It is the gate way of Karnali Province, and also connectivity with the Mansarover; the great holy place of Hindu. The resources of tourism available in Surkhet district provide decisive meaning for tourism development not only in Karnali province but also in whole Nepal. Both primary and secondary data are used to identify the potential products of tourism development. The relevancy of this study goes to have a sufficient knowledge among the stakeholders of tourism development. It has high level of potential of potential products for religious/pilgrimage tourism, rural tourism, eco-tourism, cultural tourism, village tourism, agro-tourism, adventure tourism, health tourism etc.

Experience from many countries shows that tourism contributes greatly to the economic growth that can improve the welfare and quality of citizens’ lives. To enhance the role of the tourism sector to improve the economy, increasing the competitiveness of this sector is the key. For Indonesia, which has great potential in the tourism sector, tourism development strategies are needed to improve the competitiveness of the tourism industry. The purpose of this study is to determine the position of competitiveness in Indonesia’s tourism sector, especially compared to some major ASEAN countries, and propose appropriate tourism development strategies. After mapping the condition of Indonesia’s tourism competitiveness compared to some other major ASEAN countries, this study uses STP (segmenting, targeting, and positioning) to find appropriate tourism development strategies. This research utilizes secondary data. The results show that compared to some other major ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand), Indonesia's tourism competitiveness in some aspects is low, although this condition has improved in recent years. However, given the demands of the dynamic tourism market, the competitiveness needs to be improved continuously. This necessitates special strategies, so that the efforts match with the target. This paper investigates the significance of cultural events for the development of tourism on the Isle of Man. Historically the Isle of Man captured tourists from areas around the Irish Sea including England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. This was especially the case with working-class tourists from the industrial North of England, North Wales, Dublin and Belfast. These tourism markets were prominent in the late 19th, and early and mid 20th centuries. Recent tourist data shows a fall in visitor numbers to the Isle of Man which has taken effect in post war years. In order to explore this decline, and the significance of cultural events for the development of tourism in recent years, a number of research methods have been deployed involving secondary data to assess tourism development and tourism sector growth determinants. As a consequence an investigation was undertaken involving sequential parts. Part one considered trends in the 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries drawing primarily on secondary data, existing research and archival material. Part two investigated cultural events to provide findings and analysis for the tourism industry on the Island. Lastly, part three assessed the nature and importance of events according to the modern evolution of the sector. External (international) and internal (island) influences on development were considered. From the findings conclusions showing prominent issues from the trends observed have enabled consideration of the importance of cultural events for tourism development.

Increased transport facilities have created national and international mobility for different purposes. This mobility, which is generally regarded in the scope of tourism sector, is also widely used for health purposes. Countries, besides their natural, historical and cultural riches, are engaged in transnational the protection of health, the elimination of diseases and the development of health. It can be claimed that countries have made important efforts towards attracting tourists in the field of health tourism. Health has always been a significant value throughout history and people have sought different ways to develop and improve their wellbeing. Advanced transport means and easy access to information have brought people to search for health outside of their geographical area. Health tourism has also begun to arouse interest as a result of these searches, especially as an important source of income in the international scope. Health tourism has the potential to be influenced by numerous factors. Economic crisis situations, political turmoil and social movements in the countries are some of the factors that affect mobilization for health. In this study, the impact of the coup attempt on July 15, 2016 on Turkish Tourism Industry is analyzed through analysis of secondary data.

Tourism sector is one of the major driving forces to develop the Turkish economy which provides the positive contributions with new employment opportunities and the national income and payments. With aid of this developments in economy by tourism, it has also increased the interaction with alternative areas. Health Tourism is also one of the special areas in which provides to the country high added value and foreign currency exchange income. Since the revenue outcome by health tourism is reaching up to 100 billion dollars, the national policy of health tourism enable countries has been undertaken as a high interested point of investment needed area. The critical threshold of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is 4 to 5 percent as a current account balance and this deficient outcome in Turkey mostly takes on 5 to 4 percent which is a considered as a critical threshold. Health Tourism is expected to play a key role in bringing the values to the positive levels and therefore the focus is becoming on this area by health sector. Developing countries such as India, Singapore, and Thailand meet their foreign trade deficits with the income where they have obtained from this specific sector and the level of growth in this sector is at certain rate every year. The health Tourism is very crucial and significant sector for such a country Turkey, who has current budget deficit, and it is real economic sense. With Covid-19 crisis, the plans related with health tourism is re-evaluated by the coordination between Turkish Ministry of Health, Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Economy. Especially, with the infrastructure works carried for public and city hospitals has been capable of providing health tourism services within the organization which is called “USHAŞ (International Health Services)”. The health tourism sector offers significant opportunities for Turkey during Covid-19 pandemic effects on our current account deficit and the decline in economic recovery of our tourism industry and losses. With health tourism created opportunities is already in an increasing trend, to contribute to the country’s economy much faster by increasing target markets with public-private cooperation.

This study identifies the potential of tourism products in Sukajadi Village Bogor Regency based on ten (10) tourism components as well as its development strategy, which is currently included in the category of a newly developing tourist village. The results of this research are aggressive and serious development strategies in all aspects of the tourism component, namely increasing the quality and diversification of tourist attractions and activities, accessibility, improving the quality and quantity of tourism amenities, improving the quality of human resources & institutions, community support, land use, tourism industry cooperation, as well as marketing aspects. This research type is a descriptive qualitative with a case study exploratory approach. Primary data is obtained from direct observation and interviews with key informants, namely Pokdarwis and the Village Head, while secondary data is the result of literature studies and research documentation. The analysis technique of this research uses SWOT analysis and Matrix, analysis of the work program of the vision for tourism development of the Bogor Regency Government which refers to local government master plan for tourism development (RIPPARDA), and also analysis of the Cleanlines, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) guidelines.

The modern history of tourism in Nepal began with mountain tourism embodying the diversity of nature and culture, diversity, marginality, access difficulty, fragility, niche and aesthetics. Despite huge scope, Nepal has been unable to take full benefits of mountains, due to inadequate policies and fragile implementation. Pedestaled on secondary data, the key objective of this paper is to make a retrospective assessment of tourism policy and sustainable mountain tourism development efforts in Nepal. The sustainable development of mountain tourism relies on the government’s plans and policies and the efficient coordination between stakeholders. But the tourism policies have not been able to adequately address mountain tourism, and this has led to unbalanced growth of tourism sector. Despite the implementation of new Tourism Policy in 2008, adequate focus on mountain tourism is still missing. There is a lacuna of adequate driving force in tourism policy and it has failed to address vital areas of mountain tourism. Hence, there is an instant need of specific and separate mountain tourism policy encompassing integrated approach (abiding federal structure and local participation in planning and management) hence making mountain tourism sustainable, responsible and sensitive--ecologically and culturally.

Due to the demographical changes and the currently booming health industry, the medical tourism sector has a great future potential. This paper provides an analysis about the medical tourism market itself and gives an insight in the field of marketing opportunities in the medical tourism development. Therefore, to give a basis for the further development of marketing strategies, the consumer behaviour will be analysed. In addition, a theoretical overview about used and useable Marketing methods in the medical tourism industry will be out-lined. The used scientific methods within this research work are as the following: content analysis, graphical analysis and synthesis, reference methods, logical and abstract constructive methods.

The article analyzes the impact of tourism on improving investment climate in the region. The main factors of investment attractiveness of the developing areas of tourism are considered, among which the ability of the tourism industry to develop on almost any site with a variety of conditions and resources of activity that is related to diversity of tourist activities; and the multiplier effect of tourism development which contributes to the development of related sectors of activity. The article presents the results of a study of various aspects of the formation of the national innovation system for the development of tourism. In particular, characterized are the features of the implementation of the cluster approach to the development of tourism in the territories of the Russian Federation, among which the most outstanding are: the lack of experience in the implementation of the cluster approach or unsuccessful attempts to copy foreign experience; priority areas in the development of only one type of clusters — the territorial-production; imperfection of the regulatory framework. These problems, according to the authors, exist along with the typical problems of tourism clusters, which include inadequate specialized infrastructure and services; the poor state of the key tourist sites; failure to comply with quality standards (or their absence) for services offered to tourists. According to the analysis of the legal documentation in the tourism sector of the Russian Federation and monitoring of the development of tourist areas in the article substantiated is the conclusion about the need to tough public policy, defining legal boundaries and strategic guidelines for the development of tourism on the innovative type, as well as the need to adjust the existing practice of tourism territories, which currently does not increase the investment attractiveness of regions.

This paper investigates the issues and challenges of pilgrimage tourism and also it’s civilizing significance in Thanjavur. The scope of socio-economic enlargement during pilgrimage tourism and analysis of the communications issues pertaining to the pilgrimage location of Thanjavur is dealt through in this study. The levels of inspiration and prospect of religious tourists are recognized as type factors in emergent pilgrimage tourism in the State. The data for this study as collected from crowd citizens occupied in pilgrimage tourism actions. The quantity of involvement of pilgrimage tourists in pilgrimage tourism development of Thanjavur is elucidated in this study. This study is generally based on primary data; secondary data necessary for this study was composed since unusual dependable sources.

Tourism is one of the largest sectors in the world, providing over 235 million employment oppurtunities in global platform and having 9,2% of GDP (WTTC, 2010:a). The seasonal nature of tourism industry, rapid changes in working conditions, formal lacks in work contracts of many small businesses etc. are the complicating factors at providing stable employees in the sector (Eurostat et al., 2008:50). Despite these difficulties, in the tourism sector, -which’s making positive effects with its labour intensive nature and multiplier effects in various industries-, new job opportunuties influencing positively to the region’s and countries’ economic structure and even the overall economic structure. According to the barometer published by UNWTO, 2009 Global Economic Crisis effected tourism industry globally negatively with 4,2% decline at the number of incoming tourists and tourism revenues from $942 million to $852 million* at 2009 (UNWTO, 2010:a). On the data of Turkey, 3,2% decline at tourism revenues despite 2% growth at the number of incoming tourists is attracting attention(UNWTO, 2010:b). By 2008, the direct employment that created Travel&Tourism Industry in Turkey is occured as 436.6 thousands while it’s estimated that it’ll rise to 443.1 thousands in 2009 and to 447.5 thousands in 2010 (WTTC, 2010:b). In this paper, creating employment of tourism sector and the importance of it is emphasized while it’s aiming to analyse the effects of 2009 Global Economic Crisis to Turkey’s Tourism Employment via secondary data.
