Kata kunci: koneksi matematika, tanggung jawab, model pembelajaran problem based learning   ABSTRACT Students have not realized the importance of mathematical connection. They think each mathematics concept is independent and not related to each other. There are more than 50% of students who find it difficult to solve contextual problems and more than 40% of students tend to be lazy to discuss in a group. This study aims to improve the ability of mathematical connections and responsibilities of students on composition and invers of function. Subjects in this study were students of XI.IPA.7 SMA Negeri 11 Semarang. This action research is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The results show that the percentage of students responsibility rose from 64,71% to 79,41%, the average score on the test of the mathematical connection ability increased to 85.68, and the percentage of mastery of mathematical connections increased to 76,47%. Thus, Problem Based Learning can enhanche the responsibility and ability of mathematical connections of students. This learning model can be more optimal with good classroom management. Keywords: mathematical connection, responsibility, problem based learning.

In the classroom action research conducted has the goal that the implementation of the strategy learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL) can be used to enhance the activity and student learning outcomes. Implementation of classroom action research design was used classroom action research conducted by two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 meetings, with research subjects Class XI AK 1 number of 40 students. Implementation of each cycle in the study consisted of four phases, namely: an action plan (Planning), action (acting), Observing and reflecting. Data collection activity of students in the application of strategic learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL), using observation techniques and data used as documentation of the final value. Research data analysis techniques are used as the final value of classical learning completeness of the final value. The calculation result obtained before the first cycle of learning outcomes with the lowest and highest 55, 90,  92.5% completeness study. After the first cycle of learning results obtained with the lowest value of 60 and 90 with the highest passing grade of 95%, after the second cycle study results obtained with the lowest value of 80 and the highest 100 with a 100% mastery learning. While active students in the first cycle of 69.2% and the second cycle by 76, 3%. With Action Research Classroom teachers can develop a variety of learning methods one with "Implementation model of strategic learning Problem Based Learning (PBL) which can be used as an attempt to enhance the activity and the learning outcomes of students of class XI AK 1, in SMK Negeri 1 Banyudono, Boyolali, even semester Academic Year 2011/2012".

The aim of this study is to improve students' critical thinking skills through a problem based learning model in class IV SDN Ende 1. The type of research used in this study is classroom action research consisting of several interrelated cycles and the model chosen in this study is a Kemis and Mc Tagart model which consists of several stages namely planning, action, observation and reflection, where actions and observations are carried out together. The subjects of this study were 21 students in class IV SDN Ende 1. Based on the results of data analysis in classroom action research shows that the learning feasibility by applying the learning model Problem Based Learning has increased namely 81.5% in the first cycle and 94% in the second cycle, therefore it can be said that the learning process has been carried out very well and in accordance with the reference in the lesson plan that has been made. While the results of observations of student activities during learning by applying  model of problem based learning have increased, which is proved by the increase in the average score of student learning activities in the first cycle by 55% and the second cycle by 87%. This improvement shows that during the learning process students were actively involved in solving problems. The results of the students’ critical thinking ability test of the first cycle can be seen that, there are 9 students or 43% who reach the KKM standard, while 12 students or 57% do not reach the value of 70 in accordance with the minimum completeness criteria set by the school. While the second cycle is known that as many as 21 students (100%) have succeeded and reached the indicator of critical thinking. The highest score obtained by student is 90 and the lowest score is 70 with an average value of 80% in the critical category. Therefore, the implementation of research by applying the problem based learning model ends in the second cycle . So, through research that has been done, by applying the Problem Based Learning model it is proven that it can improve the critical thinking skills of class IV students whose critical thinking test results are complete or meet the minimum completeness criteria (KKM).
