The special conditions created by emergency situations are likely to lead to psychological and emotional strains. For part of intervention and rescue personnel, these are accompanied by mobilization of internal resources, while in others these may lead to disabling phenomena as well as the occurrence of stress symptoms. Some people have a constitutional or psychological vulnerability to the action of traditional stressors, being more prone to psychic stress. The multifactorial complex of non-specific factors that modulate the individual response necessarily includes personality traits, acquired during the individual’s experience and manifested in the context of its interactions with the social network, as well as in actual situations (stressful events). This paper presents the results of a series of psychological personality assessments of intervention and rescue personnel, in the context of analysing the relationship between personality traits and the risk of occupational stress occurrence.

In bigger escalation, it is a threat for national stability and coherence, as it may cause communal disintegration. Therefore, an active role of Indonesian Military Army (TNI) is needed to resolve conflict. The army’s role is in relation with its territorial command function, implemented in the method of Social Communication Territorial Command. This writing uses the Theory of Social Communication and The Lederach Theory of Conflict Transformation which divide conflict resolution in three levels of method and actor. By referring to Lederach, this writing proposes that the Social Communication Territorial Command will be effective in resolving conflict if it is focused in the optimalisation of the third level role as it is directly affecting wider society. To optimalizing their role, Babinsa, under the Command of Military should have knowledge of conflict resolution, and should possess good interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, there should be an adequate funding support to create social activities to enggange parties involved in conflict. The study aims to reveal the specific profile of social communication. This is achieved in two ways: by clarifying the difference between the individual and mass communication, and by highlighting the common characteristics of them. It emphasizes that by its psychological and social determinations, communication is reflected on individuals or groups of individuals with significant effects, depending on the occupied place by them within the communicational system. A fair, effective decision, can’t be taken only if the system and communication networks, are properly functioning. What is important in the end is the effectiveness of communication, or, in other words, if its message was properly understood by the interlocutor what will lead to the desired effect. The communication is a dynamic process which, once initiated, evoluates, is changing and changes people involved in the process. It is even said that we are what we are as a result of interactions of communication that we had along the life, which is certainly true as far as personality is the result of environment, education, experience, and communication is the way which they operate.
