Analytic approximations are presented for the response of buckling-mode electrothermal actuators with very slender beams with a width-to-length ratio of W/L≤0.001 of the type found in nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). The results are found as closed-form solutions to the Euler beam bending theory rather than by an iterative numerical solution or a time-consuming finite element analysis. Expressions for transverse deflections and stiffness are presented for actuators with the common raised cosine and chevron pre-buckled shapes. The approximations are valid when the effects of bending dominate over those of axial compression. A few higher-order approximations are also presented for less slender beams with 0.001≤W/L≤0.01.

Background. General anesthesia and spinal anesthesia in cesarean section both have advantages and disadvantages. The scoring system of APGAR is a standardized tool that can inform the condition of newborn infants, which might be influenced by gestational age, medication, resuscitation, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions of the mother. This study aimed to compare the effect of general and spinal anesthesia usage to the APGAR score of newborn infants at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital Medan. Methode. This study uses an observational-analytic design with a cross-sectional approach,  conducted using secondary data through the medical records of mothers who gave birth through cesarean section and obtained at the Medical Record Installation at the Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan from 2018 to 2019. Result. In spinal anesthesia, there are 52 samples for a score of 8-10. Whereas in general anesthesia, there are 52 samples to score 8-10. The APGAR score of 1 minute in infants born through cesarean section under spinal anesthesia had an average of 8.63, with general anesthesia of 8.00 (p=0.001). The 5-minute APGAR score in infants born through cesarean section under spinal anesthesia had an average of 9.85, and with general anesthesia of 8.67 (p=1.000). Conclusion: The 1-minute APGAR score for infants using spinal anesthesia showed a statistically better effect than the 1-minute APGAR score for infants using general anesthesia.

Chronic kidney disease is a chronic disease that progresses damage to the kidneys which disrupts the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance which affects all body systems. PGK is currently it is one of the many diseases that have become a concern in the world including in Indonesia. One phenomenon that often occurs is an increase in fluid volume between two times of dialysis. The purpose of this study was to find out the long relationship between hemodialysis and excess fluid volume status in patients with chronic renal failure in the Hemodialysis room at Ibnu Sina Gresik Hospital. This was an analytical study with a correlative analytic design. Data were collected by using the contingency coefficient. The result of this study shows that older respondents underwent <1 year of hemodialysis with excess fluid status >2,5 BB post HD as much 81,2%, which is more dominant than patients who undergo > 1-year hemodialysis with excess fluid status >2,5 BB post HD as much 58% of the total resulting in p-value 0,103 where p>0,05 so it can be concluded that there is no long relationship to undergo hemodialysis with excess fluid volume status in patients with chronic kidney disease. It is expected that patients undergoing hemodialysis can be more obedient to the recommended diet so that it does not cause other complications and can improve the quality of life patients

Objective: This study aims to describe the condition of Fournier’s gangrene in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital from January 2014 to December 2020. Material and methods: This study used a retrospective analytic design, by taking data through medical records at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital from January 2014 to December 2020. This study used total sampling with recorded data: age, gender, length of stay, outcome, location, comorbidities, causes, management, culture results, and Fournier’s gangrene severity index (FGSI) score. Result: Of the 135 subjects collected, it was found that 55.56% were individuals over 50 years of age. About 91.11% were male patients, with some sites being in the scrotum 50.37%. Only 25.19% of patients had no comorbids, while the rest had a history of CKD, hypertension, diabetes, or a combination of these diseases. Bacterial cultures obtained were mostly caused by the Enterobacteriaceae bacteria group (32.59%). Of the subjects we studied who experienced mortality, it was found that all were from the group with FGSI >9. Conclusion: From the results of our descriptive study, at a glance, it appears that there is a tendency for the incidence of Fournier’s gangrene in the elderly and individuals with comorbidities. And the mortality rate increases with a high FGSI value. So that FGSI could be used as a predictor of mortality in patients with FG.

Background: The development process occurs simultaneously with growth, so that every growth is accompanied by a change in function. Development is the result of the interaction of the maturity of the central nervous system with the organs it affects. The development of the early phase in the form of cognitive, motor, emotional, social, and language functional abilities, is a determinant of the development of the next phase. If there is a deficiency in one aspect of development, it can affect other aspects, so there is a need for early detection of toddler growth and development.Purpose: This study aimed to find out the need for KPSP applications in monitoring the growth and development of toddlers. Methods: This research uses a descriptive-analytic design, cross-sectional approach. The population of this study amounted to 36 respondents, with a purposive sampling technique. The research site is in the Surabaya area by distributing questionnaires in the form of Google Form. Analyze data with Descriptive Analysis. Results: The results of this study stated that before the pandemic monitoring of toddler growth and development was carried out at the Posyandu using the KIA Handbook Instrument/Tool, while during the pandemic monitoring of toddler growth and development could not be carried out directly because of a policy. In this regard, respondents need an instrument/tool that can be used for independent monitoring of growth and development. Conclusion: Monitoring the growth and development of toddlers during the pandemic by utilizing technological advances and being up to date

The heavy spanning cable supporting a uniform deck is important in the design of suspension bridges. The analytic design method is presented in this paper. The problem depends on three non-dimensional parameters: the ratio of cable length to the horizontal spanning distance, the ratio of vertical to horizontal distance, and the ratio of deck density to cable density. Given these parameters, useful tables of maximum tension and sag are determined. There exists an optimum cable length for which the maximum tension is minimized. In addition, it is shown that continuous loads and discrete loads are equivalent if the number of evenly-spaced discrete loads are more than 10.

A person's age and gender will be related to physical capacity to some extent. As a person ages, muscle strength, sensory and motor abilities will also decrease. Thus age will be related to the work of a person. In general, women only have physical strength 2/3 of the physical ability or muscle strength of men, but in certain cases women are more careful than men. To get high work power, it is necessary to try to divide the tasks between men and women according to their respective abilities, skill and limitations. MTPS complaints often occur in teacher workers related to age, resulting in complaints of muscle pain. This study aims to determine the relationship between Age and Gender with Myofascial Trigger Point Syndrome (MTPS) against teachers at Ar Rahman School Medan. This type of research uses an analytic design with a cross sectional design. The population and sample were 32 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between age (p value = <0.005) and there was no relationship between sex (p value = >0.05) with Myofascial Trigger Point Syndrome (MTPS). It is recommended for teachers to take advantage of the rest time to relax muscles in order to improve and improve physiological function.
