Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) now called the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) was first identified in Wuhan city, Hubei province, China. Currently RT-PCR using nasopharyngeal and Oropharyngeal swabs is supposed to be the most efficacious and standard technique for COVID testing, but are invasive and have a few drawbacks due to which, saliva as a diagnostic specimen is proposed. Salivary specimen collection is non-invasive and can be self-collected at any time and repeatedly and greatly minimises the exposure of. healthcare workers to COVID-19.

The current pandemic of COVID-19 has caused havoc all over world since its emergence and rapid spread. Within three months the virus SARS-CoV-2 which was isolated from pneumonia cases in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China in late December 2019, has affected almost all countries. India reported its first case of COVID-19 from state of Kerala on January 30, 2020, a student returned from city of Wuhan. Till date in India the disease had affected 12759 patients with 420 deaths. With every passing day the mysterious virus is been uncovered with its unique characteristics enabling the researcher to unfold the various methods including hand washing and social distancing to curtail the pandemic. Measures like 21 days lockdown to certain extent are effective but considering asymptomatic spreaders, extended measured lockdowns will be useful in the long term war against COVID-19. Till the vaccine and therapeutic solutions are derived, answer to pandemic and SARS-CoV-2 lies in lockdown, social distancing, contact tracing and containment.

In December 2019, the first case of pneumonia with unknown etiology was reported in Wuhan city, China. The identified pathogen was a novel coronavirus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).1 Since then, the virus has spread rapidly worldwide. Although Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) typically presents with upper or lower respiratory symptoms, there have been rare reports of significant neurologic complications.2,3 Recently, a few reports presented cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) after COVID-19.4,5 In this report, we describe 2 cases of GBS that occurred following COVID-19.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by a new coronavirus called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, previously known as 2019-nCoV), which was first identified in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, PRC. The total number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has reached 102 million cases with 54 million cases recovered and 2.3 million cases dead. Handling for this pandemic is still being carried out. In Indonesia, the antiviral drugs used are those that meet the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) requirements, and are included in the COVID-19 management guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health. Antiviral options used are Oseltamivir, Favifirapir, Remdesivir. Until now, the use of antivirus is still being researched regarding the effectiveness and security of the antivirus used. Oseltamivir is used as an antiviral for COVID-19 with a mild clinical course, Favifirapir is used for mild to moderate clinical cases of COVID-19. For the use of remdesivir in COVID-19 patients with severe and critis clinical conditions.

The novel corona virus disease started  at Wuhan  in Hubei province of China as pneumonia of unknown origin  and it was found that  the causative organism of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19) was Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus –type 2 (SARS-CoV-2).  Healthcare systems all over the world nearly collapsed due to unprecedented spread of the virus and the disease, COVID-19 was notified as a pandemic by WHO on March 11,2020.1,2  Until October 2020 more than 37 million cases and more than one million deaths have been reported worldwide from this highly contagious disease.

ABSTRACTBackgroundThe Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic broke out in Wuhan, China, and it spread rapidly. Since January 23, 2020, China has launched a series of unusual and strict measures, including the lockdown of Wuhan city to contain this highly contagious disease. We collected the epidemiological data to analyze the trend of this epidemic in China.MethodsWe closely tracked the Chinese and global official websites to collect the epidemiological information about COVID-19. The number of total and daily new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in China was presented to illustrate the trend of this epidemic.ResultsOn January 23, 2020, 835 confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in China. On February 6, 2020, there were 31211 cases. By February 20, 2020, the number reached as high as 75,993. Most cases were distributed in and around Wuhan, Hubei province. Since January 23, 2020, the number of daily new cases in China except Hubei province reached a peak of 890 on the eleventh day and then it declined to a low level of 34 within two full-length incubation periods (28 days), and the number of daily new cases in Hubei also started to decrease on the twelfth day, from 3156 on February 4, 2020 to 955 on February 15, 2020.ConclusionThe COVID-19 epidemic has been primarily contained in China. The battle against this epidemic in China has provided valuable experiences for the rest of the world. Strict measures need to be taken as earlier as possible to prevent its spread.
