This psychological phenomenological study explored the challenges experienced by five efficacious teachers during instruction at a suburban government higher secondary school in Pakistan. The data collected through semi structured interviews was analyzed through Moustakas phenomenological data analysis plan. It was determined that the participants could not utilize their efficacy skills because of the challenges like poor supervision and no accountability by the principal, overcrowded classrooms and faulty paper marking by the fellow teachers. Further discussions led us to conclude that the said challenges in their triple impact resulted in an environment favorable for the growth of a habitual non-professional attitude in teachers because of which they could not show any efforts like commitment and resilience against them so as to justify their efficacy beliefs. On these bases, some suggestions were made to be seriously considered for the removal of the hurdles that thwart teachers from the efficient delivery of their performance during instruction.

This study is aimed at narrating the implementation of literacy programme at an urban secondary school in Surabaya, focusing of how the school integrates and accommodates the concept of multilingualism (Java, Indonesian Language, English, French, and Japan) on its creative application and how the integration and accommodation of multilingual literacy is carried out on the day-to-day literacy practices. Drawing on qualitative data analysis gathered mainly through semi structured interviews with four teachers and two students and observations, the research findings suggest that school literacy programme is not only aimed at socializing and habituating the literacy culture within the school, but literacy programme facilitates spaces to accommodate the students’ creativity in the literacy practices through their participation, involvement and engagement in designing, managing and disseminating the school programme. It can be argued, therefore, that the literacy programme at the school transcends the expectations of the school in which the initial thought and expectation are only within the boundary of socializing and habituating the literacy culture within the school, but it transforms into more advance creative spaces for the students to learn languages and gain 21 century skills.

The purpose of this phenomenological study was to gain a deeper understanding of interactional pathology among couples with the morbidly jealous male partners by examining the lived experiences of 5 female partners. The study attempted to answer the main research question which was, "How do women experience their communication with their morbidly jealous husbands?" along with some sub questions in different dimensions of marital life. The major data collection tool consisted of semi-structured interviews (Seidman, 2013). Forty to sixty-minute interviews were conducted with each participant. Data analysis included a three-phase process: description, reduction, and interpretation. The latter was completed using the qualitative content analysis by Colaizzi (Colaizzi, 1973). Four categories of lived experiences indicating interactional difficulty among the couples were obtained from the data analysis. These interactional damageswere evident in the experiences of all the women interviewed and consisted of themes related to boundaries, control, intimacy and ‘meta-damages’. The results of the study revealed that the damages begin with those related to boundaries, develop to control and intimacy rooted in meta-damages and finally terminate marital relationships.

Abstract Background: AIDS as a human crisis may lead to devastating psychological trauma and stress for patients. Therefore, it is necessary to study different aspects of their lives for better support and care. Accordingly, this study aimed to explain the lived experience of HIV-infected patients in the face of a positive diagnosis of the disease.Methods: This qualitative study is a descriptive phenomenological study. Sampling was done purposefully and participants were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was conducted, using semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was performed using Colaizzi’s method.Results: 12 AIDS patients participated in this study. As a result of data analysis, 5 main themes and 12 sub-themes were identified, which include: emotional shock (loathing, motivation of social isolation), the fear of the consequences (fear of the death, fear of loneliness, fear of disgrace), the feeling of the guilt (feeling of regret, feeling guilty, feeling of conscience-stricken), the discouragement (suicidal ideation, disappointment), and the escape from reality (denial, trying to hide).Conclusions: The results of this study showed that patients will experience unpleasant phenomenon in the face of the positive diagnosis of the disease and will be subjected to severe psychological pressures that require attention and support of medical and laboratory centers.

Abstract As a music therapy private practice is both a business and a healthcare service, it should adhere to ethical standards from both disciplines. However, this topic has rarely been examined in the music therapy literature. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to explore ethical dilemmas experienced by music therapy business owners (MTBOs) in their private practice and how MTBOs avoid or address ethical dilemmas. Utilizing convenience and snowball sampling techniques, 21 MTBOs in the United States were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. To answer the two areas of inquiry, we identified three themes and 12 subthemes: (1) Ethical issues related to client welfare, (2) Ethical issues related to business relationships and operation, and (3) Strategies to address or avoid ethical dilemmas. MTBOs also shared how they ensure ethical behavior in themselves, with their employees or independent contractors, and when interacting with professionals outside the private practice. These findings provide a better understanding of MTBOs’ lived experiences of ethics in their private practice and may benefit other music therapists who are in private practice or are wanting to go into private practice. Limitations and recommendations for further research are provided.

Studies dealing with the experiences of non-offending mothers from the general population and minority groups after their child’s disclosure of sexual abuse are scarce, and studies on mothers from the Jewish ultra-Orthodox community are non-existent. This study takes an initial step in filling this gap by exploring how the normalization of sexual abuse shapes these mothers’ experiences. A qualitative phenomenological study was conducted on a sample of 21 mothers from the ultra-Orthodox sector whose children had been sexually abused. It consisted of in-depth, semi-structured interviews of the mothers followed by a drawing task on their experience. The analysis of the interviews yielded four central themes: the role of social stigmatization and religion on the mother’s ability to share her child’s abuse; the effect of the disclosure on the mothers’ mental state and maternal competency; the mothers’ ongoing experience in the shadow of this unprocessed/unresolved trauma; and the mothers’ coping strategies, including acceptance, faith, and meaning making. The findings highlight the influence of the tension between the need to adhere to religious norms and preserve the social fabric and the need to enhance mothers’ and children’s well-being.

AbstractNowadays, big data is a widely utilized concept that has been spreading quickly in almost every domain. For pharmaceutical companies, using this concept is a challenging task because of the permanent pressure and business demands created through the legal requirements, research demands and standardization that have to be adopted. These legal and standards’ demands are associated with human healthcare safety and drug control that demands continuous and deep data analysis. Companies update their procedures to the particular laws, standards, market demands and regulations all the time by using contemporary information technology. This paper highlights some important aspects of the experience and change methodology used in one Macedonian pharmaceutical company, which has employed information technology solutions that successfully tackle legal and business pressures when dealing with a large amount of data. We used a holistic view and deliverables analysis methodology to gain top-down insights into the possibilities of big data analytics. Also, structured interviews with the company’s managers were used for information collection and proactive methodology with workshops was used in data integration toward the implementation of big data concepts. The paper emphasizes the information and knowledge used in this domain to improve awareness for the needs of big data analysis to achieve a competitive advantage. The main results are focused on systematizing the whole company’s data, information and knowledge and propose a solution that integrates big data to support managers’ decision-making processes.

Music draws on body, space, time and relationships to offer a sacred experience. Musicking makes personal, social, emotional and spiritual connections with people. Cultural identity is formed through the arts, and the spirituality in music is a medium through which people explore their identities. This study examines how music facilitates the holistic development of two Melbourne-born Chinese-Australian Christian musicians. The Confucian Evolving Self Model, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs, and music education aims offer conceptualising scaffolds to illuminate their self-discovery. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis was used to report on multiple semi-structured interviews undertaken over three years. This study considered the interaction of various value systems – the fusion of Confucianism, Christian and psychological cultures in the process of musical development and identity formation. It fills a research gap and complements existing approaches to understanding the social contexts influencing the acquisition of musical skills and musicians’ occupational choices. The permissive parenting that both participants experienced might account for them being able to follow a career in music without familial resistance. The current findings can advocate for music education because the spiritual aspects of musical experiences were perceived as a mirror in fostering the holistic development of both participants.

This paper reports on a 2016-2019 study of 123 students in the most academic Year 9 class in a large, high-achieving New Zealand state boys’ secondary school. The study asked the question: “What aspects of society, schools and teachers, home environment and your own intrapersonal qualities helped or hindered your achievement in at least one academic subject?” Data were gathered through the completion of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, either in focus groups, or individually. Arguably, the most important findings related to participant perceptions of the greatest influence supporting achievement and the single most common factor identified as hindering achievement. The greatest help was identified to be students’ own intrapersonal characteristics, and the greatest hindrance was identified to be schools and teachers. This paper reports on the main findings of the research with particular emphasis on those with relevance to educators. It also considers what the major implications are for educational practice in New Zealand schools.

Learning is an interaction process between learners and educators. At the covid '19 pandemic study activity is experiencing a lot of problems, students are struggling to understand the materials the teachers explain through an online system. Addressing the problem, the madrass sabielil muttaqien an open-ended learning approach to a learning activity that is carried out once a week with the system offline by keeping the health protocols recommended by the government. The research is intended to describe the steps of open-ended learning and action action at the madrasah ibtidaiyah sabileil muttaqien lesson year 2020-2021.The study a descriptive qualitative approach and the type of research is case study. Research subjects select using adhesive techniques. As for the data-gathering techniques in this essay using non-participant observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Whereas data analysis the interactive data analysis model presented by miles and Huberman and the validity of the data using source and technical triangulation. The study concludes: 1) Preparation of an open-ended approach learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sabilil Muttaqin is a teacher constructing a learning device that is Silabus and described in the form of an invasive learning plan (RPP) by listing the open-ended question in the application of the learning plan (RPP). 2) The performance of open-ended learning approach works effectively and passionate learners follow the learning process. Learning activities consist of introductory activities, core activities, final or concluding activities and evaluation activities. For the core activity of the delivery of materials with the six stages of activity carried out by the teacher. ABSTRAK Pembelajaran merupakan proses interaksi antara peserta didik dengan pendidik. Dimasa pandemi Covid’19 kegiatan pembelajaran banyak mengalami permasalahan, peserta didik susah memahami materi yang dijelaskan oleh guru dengan system online. Menanggulangi permasalahan tersebut Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sabielil Muttaqien menggunakan Pendekatan Open-Ended Learning pada kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan satu minggu sekali dengan system offline (tatap muka) dengan tetap menjaga protokol kesehatan yang dianjurkan oleh pemerintah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended Learning berjalan dengan efektif dan peserta didik semangat mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Untuk kegiatan inti berisi tentang penyampaian materi dengan enam tahap pendekatan Open-Ended Learning. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan jenis penelitian adalah studi kasus. Penentuan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive. Adapun tehnik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan observasi Non-Partisipan, wawancara semi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan model analisis data interaktif yang dikemukakan oleh Miles dan Huberman dan keabsahan datanya menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Penelitian ini memperoleh kesimpulan: 1) Persiapan Pendekatan Open-Ended Learning Pada Pembelajaran Tematik di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sabilil Muttaqin adalah guru menyusun sebuah perangkat pembelajaran yang berupa Silabus dan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Dan membuat pertanyaan Open-Ended dalam isian Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). 2) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended Learning berjalan dengan efektif dan peserta didik semangat mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan pembelajaran terdiri dari kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, kegiatan akhir atau penutup dan kegiatan evaluasi. Untuk kegiatan inti berisi tentang penyampaian materi dengan enam tahap kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh guru. Kata Kunci: pembelajaran, pandemi covid-19, pendekatan open-ended learning
