This qualitative-phenomenological study aimed to explore the lived experiences of the Senior High School students in region 11, particularly their learning experience in contextualizing literature. This inquiry was gleaned from Vygotsky, Brunner, and Dewey (1997). Employing the sampling technique, snowball sampling, five (5) students were selected for the in-depth interview. Another five (5) students were selected for the focus group discussion with ten (10) students from five regions’ schools. As to the participants’ lived experiences in learning literature, the following four (4) significant themes emerged: Enjoying the familiarity of content, participating in discussions, developing knowledge expansion, and using familiar examples as learning guides. For the students’ perspective in situations that influence the challenges in contextualization, the following five (5) majors emerged: Listening carefully to the teacher, participating actively during classwork, acquiring life-long lessons, giving participation opportunities for community-based programs, and employing teaching materials. Finally, the students’ perspectives on overcoming contextualization issues were organized into three (3) primary themes. Improved knowledge through contextualization, effectively employing contextualization and learning to study well. The findings of this study are essential for academic institutions to comprehend students’ contextualization experiences. Nursing as a discipline and scientific profession, one of its role is to provide health care at different levels, taking into account the meta-paradigms that guide care to the person, family and or community. One of the major concerns of Nursing Training Institutions in Latin America and the world is to ensure that they integrate theory and practice in the different fields of action, thus avoiding the creation of a discordance between cognitive aspects from theory to theory. practice. To achieve the professional care that characterize nursing. Objective. To understand the perceptions of healthcare integration that professionals have towards students from the point of view of practice. Methods. This article is the result of a qualitative phenomenological study as a pilot test. The data processing and analysis was carried out with the constant comparative method of Glaser and Strauss, where a categorization matrix with an inductive approach was generated, with 4 emerging thematic cores, and associated subcategories. Conclusions. Nurses attitudes and commitment can influence student attitudes. Therefore, the Nurse must be an example to follow and must be scientifically prepared so that students can perform in their training practice.   Keywords: Nursing, Practice, Qualitative research,  Hospitals

Abstract Older adults are at risk of depression and higher rates of suicide due to loneliness. Loneliness is even more pronounced for single and bereaved older adults. Although loneliness is one of the benchmarks for measuring well-being, little is known about how older Black women understand and cope with loneliness. The aim of this qualitative phenomenological study is to explore how older Black women understand and cope with loneliness. Fourteen older single and/or widowed Black women in New York City participated in this study. The application of the Black feminist standpoint theory helped to understand the loneliness of the participants in the context of their Blackness. Three themes emerged from the study: loneliness increasing with age, looking beyond the family for intimacy, and balance. All the participants expressed feeling some degree of loneliness, regardless of whether they lived alone or with family. Although they had robust social circles, they experienced loneliness, feelings of isolation, and a loss of emotional connection and intimacy. However, these losses went unexpressed, as the participants struggled to balance their position as Black matriarchs—which they considered an important familial role due to their identity as older Black women—with their emotional needs. These two roles did not converge for the women, as the role of Black matriarch posed an expectation they would not experience emotional loss in old age. The implications of this study for policy and practice pertain to the intersection of race, age, gender, and sexuality in assessing the risk of loneliness.

This study determined the issues and challenges encountered by the parents who facilitated learning at home. This research was a Qualitative-Phenomenological study that utilized the Narrative Form using the responses of the parent-participants in the Key Informant Interview conducted by the researcher. Creswell Method applied in qualitative analysis of these reactions to explore the lived experience of parents who served as Learning Facilitators in Modular Distance Learning. From the responses of the participants in the Key Informant Interview conducted, the researcher was able to extract the following themes that describe their overall ability in painting the portrait of their children: FB: Keeping You Informed, Education Must Continue, Education Cannot Wait, MDL Finds a Way, Painting a Portrait as Consecrated Responsibility, Race Against Time, and Time Works Wonders.           The researcher was able to draw out issues with implications of the findings on the lived experiences of the parents in painting the portrait of their children as not just a simple task. Their ability to paint the picture and helping their children with their studies were perceived as challenging but added colors in making their future even more meaningful.   Keywords: Paint a Portrait, Modular Distance Learning, Learning Facilitator

Objective: To reveal the perception of grief support of professionals in pediatric oncology units, after the death of the patients. Method: Qualitative phenomenological study. 22 in-depth interviews were conducted with professionals from 5 pediatric oncology units of public hospitals in Santiago. Once the narratives were transcribed, the comprehensive analysis and subsequent triangulation of the data was performed, achieving saturation. Results: Professionals perceive themselves supported in their grief by being able to experience the losses in a protected environment and feeling supported by their surroundings. They recognized the existence of external and internal factors that facilitated the process of grief. However, this support is perceived as insufficient, as there is a lack of formal support from the institution, as well as a protected grief period, or support from mental health professionals to the teams. All death experiences allow professionals to transcend their pain based on lifelong learning and to give meaning to their work. Conclusion: Grief support felt by the professionals is generated from their own initiatives of re-encounter within the teams, which is insufficient. Therefore, training in coping with death is necessary from undergraduate level, which would allow greater cohesiveness in coping and greater self-care within the teams.

This qualitative phenomenological study aims to understand and provide contextual explanation on the meaning behind the communicative action of YouTube vlogging as located in the essence of experience of the OG Filipino vlogger voice. The bracketing used is an in-depth interview, and the participant is Lincoln Velasquez, more popularly known as Cong TV, one of the top 10 individual vloggers in the Philippines (his channel having >7 million subscribers), and also one of the earliest to start in 2008, several years before vlogging became commercially lucrative in 2016. The analysis is conducted by coding, categorizing, and interpreting the interview transcript, from which 13 sub-themes emerge. By conceptually connecting the sub-themes, the grand theme of vlogging as access to possibilities is surfaced. Through an initial linkage to Sen’s capability approach, a further theoretical abstraction of the grand theme to vlogging as expansion of capabilities is tentatively proposed.
