Geometry is a branch of science in mathematics and a course taken by students of mathematics education. Based on students' final exam scores, results were not optimal with several types of errors detected. This study aimed at identify student mistakes in solving geometry problems on the topic of solid figures. The subjects of this study were mathematics education students in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year at Universitas Pelita Harapan in Tangerang. The type of research was a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection technique used was a test. The results showed that students' errors in solving geometry problems were concept errors, calculation errors, and a lack of accuracy because they were in a hurry.

As part of 21st-century skills, communication is an essential skill for students. Students' mathematical communication tends to below, one of which is influenced by students' self-confidence. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication skills in solving circle problems based on students' self-confidence. Determining the subject using purposive sampling technique, namely from 36 students of class VIII SMP in Madiun, East Java, Indonesia, obtained two subjects with high self-confidence (SCT) and one subject with low self-confidence (SCR). A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study. Tests and interviews were used as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and concluding. The results of this study include: SCT is capable while SCR is less able to meet the indicators of mathematical communication skills both in writing and orally at the stages of understanding problems, implementing plans, and checking back; and SCT can meet mathematical communication indicators both written and oral, while SCR is less able to meet written mathematical communication indicators but can verbally at the stage of planning completion. The level of self-confidence of students differentiates their mathematical communication skills in solving problems. Thus, a teacher needs to design an appropriate question to train students' mathematical communication skills with low self-confidence.

Student mistakes in communicating mathematical ideas are still widely practiced. Therefore, it is essential to analyze students' mathematical communication errors in solving mathematical problems so that learning planning can be better. This study aims to describe students' mathematics communication errors in solving the higher-order thinking skill's problems in linear algebra and matrix subject. The type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. They were 155 students as subject research. The data analysis started by collecting students' answers and then grouped them according to mathematics communication skills criteria. Later identified and analyzed the errors made by students of each mathematics communication criteria. The results showed that mathematical communication errors on the indicators of writing mathematical situations were concept errors and principle errors. The declaring idea's mathematical communication error is a concept error, a principle error, and an operation error. Furthermore, mathematical communication errors on the indicator state the results of solving-problem using the language itself is a concept error and operator error.

Formulate is the activity of gradually changing the contextual problems presented into a mathematical model. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study which aims to describe the mistakes of students in solving PISA questions in the formulate category on each content. Subjects taken were students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Krian which consisted of 4 students for 4 PISA content. The criteria of the chosen subject are students who have complete answers, indicate that they understand the questions but are wrong in modeling the problems, variations in errors in the answers, and have openness and fluency in communication. Data collection was carried out by giving 4 PISA questions on the formulate categories for each content and interview. Data were analyzed based on student error indicators in the formulate process. The results showed, in the content of change and relationships, students experienced an error in understanding the problem that was misinterpreting the question, transforming the problem that was wrong in writing the completion procedure, and the process skills were wrong in the calculation process. In the content of space and form, students experience errors in understanding questions, namely incomplete, incomplete mention of information to solve problems and process skills, which is wrong in choosing formulas. In the content of numbers, students experience errors in understanding questions that are misinterpreting information on problems, transforming questions that are wrong in changing sentences in the questions into mathematical form, and process skills that are wrong in the calculation process. In the content uncertainty and data, students experience errors in reading questions that is wrong in reading important words in the problem, transforming questions that are incomplete in writing the completion procedures, and process skills that are wrong in choosing the formula that will be used to solve the problem. Keywords: error analysis, formulating, PISA questions.

The title of this research is Rendaku Classification in Basic Kanji Books Volume I and Volume II. Rendaku is the change of the non-voice consonants into a voiced consonant. The purpose of this research is to classifying the consonant changes of rendaku in Japanese language. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection technique using the literature study tecniques. The method of analysis in this research is the determinants element technique. There are 38 data in the form of wago containing rendaku changes. Data source taken from Basic Kanji Volume 1 and Volume 2. The results of the analysis in this research found the changes in k→g as many as 10 data, changes in h→b as many as 7 data, changes in s/ts→z as many as 4 data, changes in t→d as many as 4 data. Based on the results of the analysis can be conclude that: 1) rendaku will appears on compound words, 2) rendaku will appear if in the second morpheme there are no other voiced consonant. Rendaku happened to morphemes kawa, kami, kata, kaki, ki, kaeri, kuchi, kuni, kusuri, kuruma, ha, hatake, harai, hiki, hito, hi, hosoi, sakana, sama, tsukuri, tsuyoi, tome, toshi, tomo, tera.

This study aimed to determine student’s mistakes in solving mathematical problems on the circle in SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research subjects consisted of 34 students consisting of 12 boys and 22 girls. The technique of data collection using a written test. The research instrument used was a learning achievement test consisting of 6 items made by the teacher and based on Basic Competency 3.3 analyze circle analytically. Basic Competency 3.3 developed into six Indicators of Competency Achievement. Each item measures different Indicators of Competency Achievement. Student’s answers were analyzed descriptively qualitatively by looking at the type of mistake students made on each item. The result showed that mistakes made by students were fact errors, concept errors, principle errors, and operating errors. The mistakes made by students are caused by students not being careful in solving problems and not understanding the rules of algebraic operations. This research result is the kind mistakes of most students do is operating errors as much as 46,47%; then students do concept errors as much as 33,80%; principle errors as much as 15,49%; and fact errors as much as 4,22%.
