Social skills and behavior were evaluated in children 3 to 5 years of age. The research was carried out at the “TIWINZA” Basic Education School, located in Buena Fe canton, Los Ríos province. The abilities of 16 children were studied through surveys of their parents or legal representatives, and for this purpose the proposed survey was used. 87% and 75% of the children were located within a medium level of cooperation, interaction and social independence. Regarding social skills, 75% of the children were between the medium and significant deficit levels. 62.5%, 56.3%, and 37.5 did not present problems of social isolation, anxiety / complaints, or selfish or egocentric behavior, respectively, and only one student showed a significant problem. Finally, 56% of children express their emotions easily. These findings indicate that most of the children studied did not present significant behavioral problems.

The teaching of Computing in Brazil has been stimulated with specific activities, but it needs to be encouraged for its consolidation. In order to contribute to this proposal, this experience report presents results of activities carried out in an optional discipline of Robotics in a basic education school. Considering that Robotics allows the introduction of content of Computing and that the students are digital natives, the game was applied that consists of applying the principles of game design to the methodology of teaching. The results showed a significant improvement in the learning of the content worked in the discipline and expansion of social skills.

Background: There are limited scientific investigations on cognitive remediation in elderly patients with schizophrenia. The present study was aimed to examine the efficacy of cognitive remediation therapy on social skills in institutionalized elderly patients with schizophrenia. Methods: The study employed a randomized clinical trial. A total of 60 institutionalized elderly patients with schizophrenia from Razi Psychiatric Hospital, Tehran were selected and randomly allocated into two equal groups (control and intervention). The intervention group attended to cognitive remediation therapy for 8 weeks. The Evaluation of Living Skills Scale for psychiatric patients was used for data collection. The Chi Square, independent and paired t-tests using SPSS, version 22, were employed to analyze the data. Results: The mean age of 60 elderly patients participated in the study was 65.25 &#177; 4.19 years. No significant differences were found between two groups at baseline. However, independent t-tests showed significant differences between the intervention and the control group in social skills after implementation of intervention. Additionally, the results of paired t-tests revealed significant improvements in intervention group on communication skills (t=5.50, p<0.001), behavioral problems with others (t=5.44, p<0.001), and self-care (t=4.70, p<0.001). No significant differences were observed from pretest to post test in control group. Conclusion: The results of the present study may support the efficacy of cognitive remediation therapy on social skills of elderly patients with schizophrenia.

This study focused on associations between teachers’ flexibility and their use of evidence-based strategies in inclusive education in a sample of N = 119 teachers. Flexibility showed direct effects on teachers’ attitudes towards the achievement of mainstream students and students with learning difficulties, attitudes towards social benefits of inclusion for students with emotional and behavioral disturbances, and on teachers’ self-efficacy regarding the support of students’ social skills. Furthermore, indirect effects of flexibility on intentions and behavior regarding the support of social skills were found. The findings emphasize the importance of teachers’ flexibility in the realization of inclusive education.

Abstract Behavioral problems have been associated with multiple variables; however, studies simultaneously investigating parenting practices, marital relationships in bi-parental families, maternal depression, and child behavior remain a gap in the literature. The objective was to verify associations between positive and negative parenting practices, marital relationships, social skills, and behavioral problems among children from bi-parental families with and those without maternal depression; to identify the predictive effect of positive and negative parenting practices, marital relationships, children’s social skills, and maternal depression, for internalizing, externalizing behavior problems and internalizing and externalizing comorbidities. A case-control study with a cross-sectional design was adopted to ensure the groups were homogeneous in regard to the children’s, mothers’, and families’ sociodemographic characteristics. A total of 35 mothers currently with depression and 35 without depression indicators participated in the study, while the children were 25 preschoolers and 23 school-aged children. The mothers responded to instruments addressing depression, child behavior, parenting practices, and marital relationships. The results reveal maternal depression associated with marital relationships, positive parenting, and context variables. Maternal depression and marital relationship were found to influence externalizing problems; maternal depression, child-rearing practices, marital relationships, and the children’s behavioral repertoires influence internalizing and externalizing comorbidities; and none of the independent variables influenced the occurrence of internalizing problems.

Abstract Introduction Although napping is very common and related to the outcome of individual development, the relationship between napping and health is not the same in different social and cultural contexts. In China, napping is considered as a healthy lifestyle and is often associated with better adolescent development outcomes. As a special group of teenagers (the academic level does not meet the requirements of ordinary high school), vocational high school students have a higher incidence of behavioral problems than ordinary high school students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of napping and its relationship with behavioral problems in vocational high school students. Methods The napping questionnaire, Youth Self Report (YSR), general information questionnaire and other tools for covariates were used to measure 2505 high school students (62.04% boys, 37.96% girls, 16.71±0.02 years), recruited by convenient sampling. The relationship between nappingand behavioral problems was analyzed by multiple linear regression. Results 72.58% of the participants reported taking a midday nap at least three days per week during the past month, and 55.79% of our sample reported naps more than 30 minutes. Multiple regression analysis showed that nap frequency was negatively associated with high school students’ behavior problems after controlling for general characteristics and other important covariates. Compared with high school students who did not nap or napped less than 1 time/week, high school students who napped 1–2 times/week or 3–4 times/week had lower level of both internalizing behavior problems and externalizing behavior problems. There was no statistically significant association between nap duration and behavior problems. Conclusion This study finds that when napping is allowed, moderate frequency of napping is associated with lower level of internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems in vocational high school students, while nap duration is not significantly associated with behavioral problems. Further research is needed to explore the mechanism of the relationship between napping and behavior problems. Support (if any):

Three ninth-grade male students with emotional or behavioral disorders were taught the game-related social skills of appropriate peer reactions, appropriate reactions to losing, and appropriate reactions to winning. A skills-training model involving social modeling, behavioral rehearsal, and behavior transfer was used to teach the skills. Self-monitoring was employed to help the new skills persist over time and transfer to the gym setting. A multiple-baseline design was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the training for each student in both the classroom and the gym. The results indicated that students improved in their game-related social skills. Greater overall improvements were found in the classroom.

Social Skills Training (SST) is one of the interventions aimed at improving communication and providing new skills to schizophrenic clients with social isolation problems. SST is specifically carried out on clients with social isolation experiencing a decrease   number, frequency and quality of social contacts; endurance of contact and negativism are associated with feelings of isolated.   SST is performed through several sessions. Each session consisted of several sections such as modeling, role playing, performance feedback and transfer training. The stages in the SST not only focus on social skills, but also cognitive functions. SST can be applied to healthy and disturbed clients,    children as well as adults. Method: Literature review is based on issues, methodologies, equations and advanced research proposals. There are 5 quantitative studies and 1 bulletin. Out of Five studies conducted, one study on healthy clients and 4 disturbed clients. such as autism, high risk, and cognitive impairment.

The under five children age is a nutritionally vulnerable group,therefore they require treatment including physical care with the provision of nutritious food especially from the father and mother. The purpose of this research is to know the involvement of father in giving nutritious food to under five children Mojokerto District. The research design is descriptive. The population is all fathers who have under five children as many as 38 people, taken entirely as a sample by using total sampling. The research variable is father's involvement in giving nutritious food to children. Data analysis using percentage.The results showed that most of father's involvement in nutritious food feeding on under-five children is not good as much as 23 people (60,5%). This is motivated by the status of the father who worked as an entrepreneur or not working, elementary education, 36-60 month old childrren and male sex, and working mothers.Time-consuming job as an entrepreneur plus a basic education leads children to may be financially fulfilled but less good in emotional and behaviour involvement. Moreover, the status of unemployment and basic education leads to poor financial and emotional support and behavior. 36-60 months of age and male sex is an active children and tend to be closer to the mother so the father is less involved. Similarly, the status of working mothers does not make the father more involved, because the father tends to require him to work that sacrifice togetherness with children.
