The definition of «restoration-reconstructive transformation» (RRT) is given as a complex process of interconnected restoration and reconstruction changes in buildings, open urban spaces and urban architectural environment as a whole to increase value and integrity and move them to a new qualitative level. Introduced as uniting all restoration and reconstructive qualitative changes – transformations. Depending on the activity of the intervention, four degrees of RRT were identified: preservation, amplification, correction and change. Preservation and amplification – referred to the restoration, correction and change – to the reconstructive transformations. For each degree of PPT, the corresponding methods are highlighted. The restoration ones correspond to the I and II degrees of the RRT – preservation and amplification. Reconstructive – III and IV degrees of RRT – to correction and change. Their classification is proposed: 1) according to the activity of intervention on: preserving, restoring, renewing and transforming. Preserving and restoring – restoration, renewing and transforming – reconstructive; 2) for the implementation of qualitative changes at different system levels: urban planning, volumetric and functional. Based on the generalization of existing problems that violate the sustainable development of small historical towns and must be solved during the RRT in them, namely: urban planning, architectural, utilitarian-functional, infrastructural, ecological and socio-economic, 5 components of the complex process of RRT their historical centers were identified – ecological, historical-cultural, infrastructural, social and economic. For each component the tasks are outlined. They should be solved at the selected 4 system levels: urban planning, volumetric, functional, socio-economic.

This chapter examines integrated urban resource management, flows, governance, and hubs in developing countries given how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have brought an increased attention to urban natural resources and sustainable development worldwide. Focusing on spaces and spatial dynamics, it offers policy guidance on the implementation of urban sustainability within the context of the post-2015 global agenda and the SDGs. The chapter first considers urban sustainable development before discussing the urbanisation and metropolisation processes and explaining the definition of ‘resources’. It then explores resource governance in urban spaces by drawing on resource geography as a framework. It also presents examples and insights of cities in the developing world to elucidate what is actually done and the role that resources have in these processes. It concludes with policy recommendations, arguing that the sustainability framework can be used to foster positive and realistic change in metropolises and capital cities.

The author 's approach to the formation of the definition of enterprise sustainable development is offered on the basis of generalization of existing approaches to its interpretation in the domestic scientific literature in the article. The need to improve the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the subject of study is due to differences in the scientific environment of common approaches to its interpretation. It is determined that the enterprise sustainable development should be formed in the environment, taking into account two essential principles: the formation of a balanced relationship in the triad of economy, ecology and social sphere, which means the optimal use in the interests of man and nature of the resources provided by economic development; solving production problems, based on the introduction of responsible innovations related to development not only at the present stage, but also taking into account the interests of future generations. The connection of economic, social and ecological components is described within the framework of socio-ecological-economic triad in the system of sustainable development. The authors consider the sustainable development of the enterprise as a systemic and complex process of strategic transformation of the business entity, which includes a system of socio-environmental values and is based on the introduction of responsible innovations under the influence of the competitive environment and external factors. It is determined that the management of the enterprise should make every effort, use all management functions in order to influence all potential stakeholders in order to create a sustainable environment for their activities. There is some contradiction in this, because, on the one hand, sustainable development can be a competitive advantage that will distinguish the producer from others, and on the other - constant demand must form an adequate consumer market, and this will lead to changing living conditions and new players on the market. Key words: sustainable development of the enterprise, socio-ecological-economic triad, responsible innovations, competitiveness of the enterprise.

AbstractWhile there is a growing effort towards AI for Sustainability (e.g. towards the sustainable development goals) it is time to move beyond that and to address the sustainability of developing and using AI systems. In this paper I propose a definition of Sustainable AI; Sustainable AI is a movement to foster change in the entire lifecycle of AI products (i.e. idea generation, training, re-tuning, implementation, governance) towards greater ecological integrity and social justice. As such, Sustainable AI is focused on more than AI applications; rather, it addresses the whole sociotechnical system of AI. I have suggested here that Sustainable AI is not about how to sustain the development of AI per say but it is about how to develop AI that is compatible with sustaining environmental resources for current and future generations; economic models for societies; and societal values that are fundamental to a given society. I have articulated that the phrase Sustainable AI be understood as having two branches; AI for sustainability and sustainability of AI (e.g. reduction of carbon emissions and computing power). I propose that Sustainable AI take sustainable development at the core of its definition with three accompanying tensions between AI innovation and equitable resource distribution; inter and intra-generational justice; and, between environment, society, and economy. This paper is not meant to engage with each of the three pillars of sustainability (i.e. social, economic, environment), and as such the pillars of sustainable AI. Rather, this paper is meant to inspire the reader, the policy maker, the AI ethicist, the AI developer to connect with the environment—to remember that there are environmental costs to AI. Further, to direct funding towards sustainable methods of AI.

The sustainable development of the northern Shaanxi area has been severely restricted by the increasingly serious issue of the environmental pollution and ecological destruction in the energy and chemical industry base there. This paper, based on the thorough analysis to the investigation data about the environmental status and the existing problems of energy and chemical industry base in northern Shaanxi, construct evaluation index system of the base sustainable development. The paper evaluated comprehensively the level of sustainable development in energy and chemical industry base in Northern Shaanxi based on statistical data in past years. It reveals the contradiction and the plight of economic, resource and environment in the process of current base, and shows the urgent problems which must be solved in the future.

This study discusses the contribution of the psychology of sustainability and sustainable development to the wellbeing of vulnerable workers. The psychology of sustainability and sustainable development is a current area of the research study in the field of sustainability science. It deals with sustainability as a framework to recognize and integrate the value of the psychological approach in the construction of processes linked to sustainable development. Accordingly, the psychology of sustainability and sustainable development could provide sustainable development processes for the employment of vulnerable workers. The contribution starts with the definition of the coordinates of a sustainable development process for vulnerable workers, anchoring it to the principles of decent work and inclusivity. Subsequently, positive variables involved in the sustainable development processes and their relationship with decent work and inclusivity are discussed. Moreover, positive healthy organizations are introduced as work environments capable to take care of the wellbeing, also, of vulnerable workers. Lastly, the applications of positive strength-based primary preventive interventions for vulnerable workers are analyzed. Perspectives for further research studies and interventions are also examined.

The Paper examines legal and financial tools which are used in Poland to succor the development of energy from renewable resources. In the first part a definition of sustainable development is given and the short history of this idea is shown. Then the concept of Sustainable energy is introduced. The second part describes main policies of European Union on sustainable policy and the Polish Legal System on Renewable Energy is described. The fifth part of the paper analyzes the sustainable development indicators provided by Eurostat for the energy produced from renewable resources. there are 6 indicators analyzed. In the end the forecasts for the development of RES in Poland is given. There are clues for development of different technologies in different provinces of Poland. There are also forecasts for the development of the renewable energy market in Poland.

The article examines the approaches to determining the financial stability of the region, which reveals the main essence of financial stability. Guided by the experience of leading researchers, the key determinations of financial sustainability and their factors based on which it is possible to prevent its crisis situations are explored. The article describes the methods of the system approach to the definition of financial stability, which reveal the signs of financial stability. The main groups of factors that affect the financial stability of the region are identified. Based on the conducted research, qualitative and quantitative parameters of financial stability factors that determine the sustainable development of the financial system are revealed. The results of the research have a practical value of research, which in the long term can be used by regional authorities to develop a strategy for sustainable development of the regional economy.
