The most important tool for a document examiner is his or her own vision, but in this section and the laboratory tour section we will consider the external tools which enable the examiner to see, evaluates and record more than is apparent to the unaided eye. The number of papers outlines the basic necessity of photographic illustrations for demonstrating the data offer clinching evidence, strong enough to with stand legal scrutiny on which opinions of the document examiner are based, hence play a very vital role in the examination of forensic documents. For the purpose of examination in the laboratory as well as the use of photographs becomes indispensible in cases involving traced or simulated forgery, built-up documents, forgery over genuine signatures and forgery by substitution, interpolations, differences in the tint of ink etc. The authors have solved a case in resolving the sequence of strokes with same ball point ink in an actual case received in the laboratory.

The present study summarizes the new strategies including advanced equipment and validation parameters of liquid and gas chromatography methods i.e., thin-layer chromatography (TLC), column liquid chromatography (CLC), and gas chromatography (GC) suitable for the identification and quantitative determination of different natural and synthetic bioactive compounds present in food and food products, which play an important role in human health, within the period of 2019–2021 (January). Full characteristic of some of these procedures with their validation parameters is discussed in this work. The present review confirms the vital role of HPLC methodology in combination with different detection modes i.e., HPLC-UV, HPLC-DAD, HPLC-MS, and HPLC-MS/MS for the determination of natural and synthetic bioactive molecules for different purposes i.e., to characterize the chemical composition of food as well as in the multi-residue analysis of pesticides, NSAIDs, antibiotics, steroids, and others in food and food products.

Nowadays, condition-based maintenance (CBM) and fault diagnosis (FD) of rotating machinery (RM) has a vital role in the modern industrial world. However, the remaining useful life (RUL) of machinery is crucial for continuous monitoring and timely maintenance. Moreover, reduced maintenance costs, enhanced safety, efficiency, reliability, and availability are the main important industrial issues to maintain valuable and high-cost machinery. Undoubtedly, induction motor (IM) is considered to be a pivotal component in industrial machines. Recently, acoustic emission (AE) becomes a very accurate and efficient method for fault, leaks and fatigue detection and monitoring techniques. Moreover, CM and FD based on the AE of IM have been growing over recent years. The proposed research study aims to review condition monitoring (CM) and fault diagnosis (FD) studies based on sound and AE for four types of faults: bearings, rotor, stator, and compound. The study also points out the advantages and limitations of using sound and AE analysis in CM and FD. Existing public datasets for AE based analysis for CM and FD of IM are also mentioned. Finally, challenges facing AE based CM and FD for RM, especially for IM, and possible future works are addressed in this study.

In machining, speeds play vital role. The operator should know exactly the speed at which machining should be performed to get the required surface finish. In this paper, an attempt is made to determine the optimal cutting speed for machining of alloy steels. Three work piece materials having different hardness are taken and machined using a round nose tool with a coated tip. The tool dynamometer is attached to the tool post for force measurement. Turning operation on the work piece is performed on lathe at four different speeds, keeping the feed and depth of cut constant. Cutting forces acting on the tool, temperature at the tool and material interface are recorded. Power consumed being determined by a wattmeter and surface roughness values are measured. The same procedure is repeated for the other two work-pieces materials and optimal speeds for machining are determined for the three specimens. The results obtained are compared with the theoretical values and found to be very close.

The seeds of cicerarietinum were made into flour, cooked in a different methods and analyzed for Phosphorous, Phytin, Ionisable Iron, Niacin and Thiamin by standard methods.Nutritious values of cicerarietinum varies significantly when they cooked. Mode of cooking play a vital role in the determination of nutrition in food. Gram flour has significant amounts of niacin and thiamin and ionisable iron in its uncooked flour form. This flour have 280 mg/100g phosphorous, 1.6 mg/100g ionisable iron, 0.357 mg/100g thiamin and 4.7 mg/100g niacin. Thus, the flour may be used as value addition food which in turn increased nutrition in low cost.

In material removal processes, determination of optimal machining strategy is a key factor to increase productivity. This situation is gaining more importance when machining components with complex geometry. The current practice in the determination of machining strategy mostly depends on the experience of the machine operator. However, poorly designed machining processes lead to time-consuming and costly solutions. Therefore, the improvement of machining processes plays a vital role in terms of machining costs. In this study, the machining process of a boom-body connector (GGG40) of a backhoe loader was improved. Improvements of toolpaths and cutting conditions of 22 different material removal processes were checked through a CAM software. According to the simulation results, the process plan was rearranged. Besides, some enhancements in casting model were conducted to decrease in the number of machining operations. When compared to current practice, a reduction of 55% in machining time was achieved.

The identification of the characteristics that have an influence on the vaccination coverage of children and the determination of the pattern of such influence are very important since the government can reschedule the policy to immunize each and every child. This paper examines the factors that manipulate the vaccination coverage in terms of five major vaccines using the Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS)-2007 data. The results strongly suggest that mother’s education and economic status play a vital role significantly in improving the vaccination coverage. Besides, Khulna and Rajshahi have higher whereas Sylhet and Chittagong have lower immunization coverage than Dhaka. In addition, mother’s exposure to media (newspaper, TV or radio) also improves the status of coverage both in the rural and urban areas in Bangladesh.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/dujs.v60i1.10336  Dhaka Univ. The research provides an attempt to identify the effects of technical and professional developments on audit risks, important of these developments are cloud computing, blockchain, electronic commerce, fair value and corporate governance. Considering that these developments represent the modern environment for auditing in general and auditing risks in particular. Therefore, the nature of these developments and their relationship to auditing and their impact on audit risks have been clarified, leading to the determination of the implications of these developments on audit risks and the requirements to keep up with developments (technical and professional) in the field of audit risk assessment.
