The development of transportation is increasing rapidly from year to year in accordance with existing technological developments, currently transportation plays an important role in human life, roads are the means of transportation that play the most role in this, along with the increasing volume of passing vehicles as well as road widening of course. Produces a new problem that may still be underestimated, that problem is noise. One of them is a place of education or a school that is right next to the main road, namely Wiyata Mandala Junior High School, Bogor Regency. The speed of private vehicles has a significant effect on noise. From all analysis calculations, the biggest equation is found in the first day of the third point of research (Sound Level Meter 3), with a contribution of 28.95%. The calculation below shows, y = 61.62 + 0.004x1 at a distance of 15.25m SLM. This equation means that if there is no decrease in motorbike speed, the noise level on the SLM3 is 61.62 dBA. The second largest equation was obtained in the first day of research at the second point (Sound Level Meter 2) with a contribution of 27.14% based on the calculation of the equation below, y = 64.23 + 0.007x1 with a distance of 3.44m SLM. The purpose of the above equation is that if there is an increase in motorbike speed, private vehicle speed and public vehicle speed, then the noise on the SLM2 is 64.23 dBA. During the Covid-19 pandemic, motorcycles at moderate speed often passed this school area. So based on the results of observations and calculations, it was found that the decrease in motorcycles was 45% which crossed the Wiyata Mandala Junior High School Bogor.

The Covid-19 pandemic has negatively affected human life. Indonesia Government issued policy on SFH (Study from Home) to respond this situation. This research tried to find out the effectiveness of implementation of that policy on the students both in state and private Junior High Schools (SMP), Senior High Schools (SMA), and Vocational High Schools (SMK). Data was collected from the distributed closed-ended and open-ended questions to 180 students in City of Serang, Banten Province, Indonesia. The scores ranged from minimum 1.00 as Very Poor and 5.00 as Very Good. The implementation of SFH resulted Mean score 2.7911, which was in Fair category. The independent T-Test with probability value 0.05 showed that there were no differences on performances of the school groups, except between the Junior High School (SMP) and Senior High School (SMA) with Vocational High School (SMK). The dominant problems were less various learning design, non-interactive learning, too much assignment, less optimum learning on practical courses for students of Vocational School, less experienced teacher in distance learning, less assistance by parents, and cost for using social media. To sum up, distance-learning SFH was not effectively executed for there were technical problems related to the unpreparedness of the stakeholders, including the government. It is recommended that the implementation of SFH is made lesson learned as the input to design the education providence in new normal era including methods, management, and funding.

A school is a place where all learning activities are carried out by students. In learning activities in the classroom, it must meet a good standard of comfort, especially the noise factor. Classroom noise can be caused by external and internal factors. The audial comfort level for classrooms is standard 55 Dba. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the comfort level of noise in the classroom at Xaverius Pringsewu High School. The research methods were field measurement using sound level meter. In addition survey was conducted on building users with questionnaire to know about perception of audio comfort. The classrooms studied have a classroom design where the wall vents of the two classes have different heights. With a different ventilation design, it will certainly affect the noise conditions in the classroom. The study resulted that classroom RK 1 was noisier than the classroom RK 2 due to the different class design where the classroom RK 1 had wide ventilation on the wall, while the classroom RK 2 had a closed room with vents on the door and window.

<p>This study aims to highlight the importance of topsoil in human life from the viewpoint of daily rice consumption in Japan. A questionnaire on rice and/or soil was distributed to elementary, junior high, and high school students and university students in order to investigate how much they know about soil and its importance. The results were reported using an earlier study (Hirai and Hirai, 2015). The findings revealed that most of the students recognized the soil function of plant production, but few recognized the area of paddy fields required to produce the amount of average rice consumed per person per year in Japan. In order to convey the importance of topsoil, an interactive class on &#8220;rice&#8221; was conducted with students in October 2019, as part of a soil education program. Before it, a rice hill with topsoil of 15 cm was taken from a paddy rice field and kept in a plastic container. We chose rice as the topic because Japanese students can easily relate to it. Students were told that to produce 150 g of edible rice, 70 g of dried rice is used. As part of an activity, they were asked to: 1) Count grains in 2 g of dried rice, and then calculate the number of grains in 70 g dried rice, 2) Observe a rice hill with topsoil , 3) Count the number of panicles of the rice plant and the number of rice hull in a panicle, 4) Multiply the number of rice hull with the panicle number to obtain the total number of rice hulls, and 5) Measure the total area and the weight of the topsoil. Thus, the students could understand how many rice hills with topsoil of 15 cm depth with a certain area are required to produce 150 g of edible rice. The students were also asked to touch and feel the soil and the rice plants, following a presentation about their learnings and findings. After this activity, a lecture from a professor of soil science was delivered. Moreover, the following questionnaire survey was conducted before and after the soil educational program aiming at recognizing the importance of soil. The number of participating students was 19, consisting of 5th and 6th graders of primary school and 1st to 3rd graders of junior high school. The following questions were asked: Q1. Would you like to have places with soil around where you live? Q2. If you prefer to have a place with soil around, what are the reasons behind it? Q3. Would you like to know more about soil? The number of students who answered Q2 with &#8220;because having a place with soil stops groundwater from drying up&#8221; increased from 5 to 15 after the program. In case of Q3, the number of students who answered &#8220;I would like to know as much as possible&#8221; increased from 10 to 18. Moreover, it is noteworthy that attendants stressed on touching the soil and measuring the area under rice plant cultivation.</p>
