This paper represents the research and analysis of the psychological impacts of colour, as well as discusses the importance of the awareness of such effects. The theoretical rationale provides context and details plan for a proposed digital tool – a not-for-profit educational mobile iOS application Colour-In – that detects and measures colours from a supplied image, analyzes, and provides information about the psychological influence and significance of those colours. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the education of colour effects and improve the learning experience by integrating digital technologies into the educational process in various academic and professional practices.

While service-learning may be easily incorporated into medical or legal fields, this type of active learning generally has not been historically integrated into any discipline within the business curriculum. This is unfortunate, as the utilization of business students in not-for-profit environments can provide a triple-win scenario:  the students receive an enriched learning experience, as they likely will confront opportunities at the entry level that are not generally experienced until the middle-management level; the administrators at the not-for-profit have access to business students with skills that are necessary but typically expensive to acquire; and the constituents served by the organization are enriched by having improved delivery or efficiency of service.  Within this paper, we will discuss the service-learning environment and will then detail a project we have worked on in a service-learning-oriented class, with the hope that others may use our experience to facilitate their own service-learning projects as students or within the context of a class.

By preserving and providing accessibility to cultural heritage, archives and museums have a crucial role in civil society. "Culture" is not a static concept; ideally, the practices of contemporary archives and museums should adapt to meet the changed expectations and cultural values of society. However, the limited permitted exceptions for archives in the Copyright Act 1994 are an obstacle to archives and museums attaining this goal. For example, the provisions are drafted from a traditional, analogue perspective, albeit with more recent minor changes in an attempt to acknowledge digital technologies. Furthermore, the permitted exceptions are confined to not-for-profit and state archives– a somewhat contentious limit in the 21st century when the Internet promises the means for cultural democracy. Museums are not mentioned at all. In addition, there is no legislative process permitting uses of orphan copyright works. This article explains how the permitted exceptions for archives could be amended in the upcoming review of the Copyright Act to better acknowledge and support cultural heritage institutions. It examines recent amendments in the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (UK) and suggests that while some of these amendments would be useful for New Zealand to emulate, additional changes should also be considered.

In the modern world of education, the level of digital technology development plays a decisive role in the competitiveness of educational institutions. The transition to digital education is considered a key driving force for the development of any university. In recent years, pedagogical universities have made tangible progress in many areas of digital development. However, the introduction of digital technologies (DT) in the educational process reached its peak during the pandemic. This study aims to identify the distinctive features in the work of a teacher at a pedagogical university during the pandemic. The study revealed the following: the doubts of the teachers with no e-learning experience; didactically effective digital technologies in the educational process, the combined use of which ensures the synergistic effectiveness of e-learning; students’ attitude towards the quality of the e-learning process during the pandemic. Given the identified problems and positive aspects, the results of the study can be used to further develop a strategy for the digitalization of teacher education. The study proved that effective digitalization of the educational process is possible under the condition of cooperative and systematic work of all participants.

The article presents a description of modern digital tools that can be used in the educational process for more activating content in the formation of the necessary professional competencies in students. The use of the Internet board "Miro" allows students to master such concepts as "conflict" and "conflict resistance" while studying the discipline "Conflictology"; the digital tool "Nearpod" while studying the topic "Conflict Management in the Organization" made it possible to present a presentation and, after studying its content, conduct online testing on the "Test Wizard" platform, using tasks of varying complexity; the use of artificial intelligence is also possible as a new tool for resolving interpersonal conflicts - on the platform of the TELEGRAM social network.

This paper will highlight an innovate practice in teaching and learning by reflecting on two fourth-year sociology seminar classes that participated in a community-based learning project at York University. Fifty students collaborated in three to six person teams to work on a problem/issue identified by one of five not-for-profit organizations who work with and/or for women as victims, offenders, and/or professionals in the Canadian criminal justice system. Reflections on the process and outcome of the experience offer insights into organizing and engaging in a community-based learning experience as well as point to some of the substantive benefits. These include the opportunity for increased student engagement, access to, and awareness of, course and community related issues, and citizenship. The paper also identifies potential opportunities to incorporate the dimensions of participation and collaboration between institutions of higher learning and the community/world to mobilize knowledge and offer unique scholarship opportunities for faculty.

The article presents the experience of mass organization of distance learning in organizations of secondary general and vocational education in March—May 2020 in connection with the difficult epidemiological situation in Russia. The possibilities of the 1C:Education system for organizing the educational process in a distance format, the peculiarities of organizing distance interaction in schools and colleges are considered, the results of using the system are summarized, examples of the successful use of the system in specific educational organizations are given. Based on the questionnaire survey of users, a number of capabilities of the 1C:Education system have been identified, which are essential for the full-fledged transfer of the educational process from full-time to distance learning. The nature and frequency of the use of electronic educational resources in various general education subjects in schools and colleges are analyzed, the importance of the presence in the distance learning system not only of a digital library of ready-made educational materials, but also of tools for creating author’s content is assessed. On the basis of an impersonal analysis of user actions in the system, a number of problems were identified that teachers and students faced in the process of an emergency transition to distance learning.

The relevance of the study under consideration is due to the need to increase the efficiency of students independent work in solving computational problems. A theoretical rationale is proposed and the practical implementation of an automated training and diagnostic system for the formation of skills to solve problems according to the “white box” model is described. The leading idea of the study is the construction of mental schemes for a given topic, which allow to visualize the dynamics of changes in the learner’s level of ability to solve computational problems. The methods of accounting for forgetting educational information and methods of personalized selection of tasks are substantiated.
