Background: Nursing students’ satisfaction with their undergraduate program is essential and can serve as an instrument of assessment of institutional effectiveness and success. Objective: To evaluate and understanding student satisfaction with nursing program in areas of curriculum, college environment, Faculty and clinical interaction with the college of nursing at university of sulaimani. Methods: Cross sectional study was conducted for 170 students in nursing college at university of sulaimani, from period of 1st November to 25th February to identify their satisfaction with the nursing program. A non probability \ purposive sampling technique was applied to 170 the students of nursing studying in the second to fourth year. A questionnaire was constructed by the researchers to elicit the detailed information related to study objectives. Subjects were completed as interview technique. Content and Face Validity of the instrument was established and the reliability was measured by using Cronbach’s alpha = 0.96. Formula in the questionnaire list. All statistical computation is enhanced using statistical method (SPSS 21) The result of the study showed that More than half (51.76) of the study participants were barely satisfied, younger students had greater satisfaction comparing their peers. There were no significant associations between students’ satisfaction with the nursing program dimensions and participant’s age and academic level. Conclusion: Generally, the findings of the study showed that students’ satisfaction with a nursing program was neutral. The study gets the attention to the many positive as well as negative aspects of the clinical experience of the nursing students at the college, and the need to rethink clinical skills training in nursing education.

INTRODUCTION: Nursing students suffer from high levels of stress related to academic assignments in addition to clinical skills training. As a psychosocial phenomenon, stress affects students’ academic achievement and wellbeing. Coping mechanisms help students deal with the challenges arising from stress.AIMS: To illustrate the level of stress and common stressors among nursing students; to describe the difference in stress level related to demographic data; and to identify coping mechanisms used by nursing students.METHODS: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out to determine the type of stress and coping strategies among nursing students. The level of stress was evaluated through Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and type of coping strategies were assessed by use of Coping Behaviours Inventory (CBI).RESULTS: Students perceived moderate level of stress, most commonly attributed to assignments and workload, teachers and nursing staff, peers and daily life, and taking care of patients. The most frequently used coping mechanism was problem solving. The study found that age, GPA, education level and residence are good predictors of the use of transference as a coping behaviour.CONCLUSION: A moderate level of stress among students illustrates the need for stress management programs and the provision of suitable support.

Background: Simulation-based education is a widely utilized tool for experiential learning in nursing education. The aim of this study was to determine nursing students’ performance and satisfaction in the classification of pressure injuries using simulation with moulage. Methods: It is an evaluation study with a quasi-experimental, single-group, post-test design that was conducted in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year in the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Izmir Katip Celebi University, Izmir, Turkey. In total, 66 final-year nursing students, voluntarily participated in the Assessment of Pressure Injury Course. A student characteristics form, a Pressure Injury Classification Form, and a Moulage Satisfaction and Evaluation Form were used as data collection tools. Data were entered into SPSS v. 21, and the results of the analysis were described using descriptive statistics. Results: It was found that 67.2% (n=45) of the students correctly assessed all the stages of pressure injury moulages on the standardized patients. Among the students, 62.1% (n=41) strongly agreed that their assessment skills of pressure injury improved after the simulation. The results related to students’ satisfaction indicated that 77.3% (n=51) of the students evaluated the moulages as realistic. The Mean±SD total score of students’ evaluation of moulage simulation sessions on standard patients was 4.56±0.59 (range=1-5). Conclusion: This moulage is a simple, easily accessible, low-cost, and effective tool for teaching pressure injury assessment to nursing students. It can be used in clinical skills training and clinical assessment in nursing education.

Background: As future professionals, nursing students are expected to exhibit online professionalism and to be responsible users of social media. However, the rapid sharing of information on social media exposes nursing students to the risk and danger of spreading unprofessional behaviors like breaches of privacy and confidentiality.Objective: This study looked into the nursing students’ perceptions and attitude toward responsible use of social media.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional research design was utilized and participated by 298 nursing students in a College of Nursing in Iloilo City, Philippines. The Responsible Use of Social Media Attitude Scale (RUSMAS) created by the researchers was used to collect the data.Results: Findings indicated that nursing students widely use social media and that nursing students had good perceptions and had positive attitude toward responsible use of social media. A significant difference was found in the attitude of nursing students when grouped according to year level.Conclusion: Social media continue to gain interest among nursing students and using it responsibly must be continuously upheld. Academic nursing institutions should develop approaches promoting social media literacy in nursing education.

BACKGROUND: Tobacco use continues to be the leading cause of preventable death worldwide. OBJECTIVE: To assess perceived tobacco educational preparation of undergraduate and graduate nurses in a large urban university. DESIGN: A cross-sectional web-based survey of all nursing students in an urban college of nursing was conducted to assess perceived tobacco educational content, skills, and self-efficacy for cessation counseling with patients who smoke cigarettes and use alternative tobacco products (e.g., hookah and e-cigarettes). RESULTS: Participants reported the most education about health effects of tobacco use (67%), and less than 6% reported education about alternative tobacco products. While the majority of nurses agreed that advising patients to quit is a priority, less than 40% reported receiving sufficient training in cessation counseling. CONCLUSIONS: There continues to be a compelling need articulated by leaders in tobacco policy and research over the past decade for a more vigorous response by nurses to the tobacco epidemic.

Nursing education at post graduate degree aims to produce graduates with the essential competencies as researchers which are closely related to the capability of implementing information technology which are in the global health era. However, the implementation of blended learning which combines e-learning approach into the learning process has characterised with various challenges for students and lecturers. These study aims are to identify the effect of the blended learning approach to student satisfaction on the learning process in the master's degree nursing program in Indonesian context.Method: The study was conducted in 2018, the quantitative approach has been utilized. Participants in this study are 88 post graduate nursing students who were selected with purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through survey and analysis correlational with Pearson test.Finding of the study has indicated that the Blended learning approach as indicated in: Quality of Learning Process (QLP) in terms of Student Engagement and Accessibility & interactivity on average is 83% favourable and 17% unfavourable; and QLP from students’ perspective is 58, 96% favourable and 41.04 % unfavourable. Student satisfaction with blended learning process on average is 54.75% favourable and 45.25% unfavourable. The results of the Pearson analysis have shown that there is a very weak correlation between the Blended Learning approach and Student Satisfaction with correlation value of 0.180 and Significance value of 0.864. In this case, almost all participants stated that blended learning is essential as it makes the learning process more innovative and it motivates independent learning.

Background: Clinical learning is a part of curriculum nursing education as sciences application in the real situation. In Diploma Nursing program school of health sciences wira husada Yogyakarta, ratio of Academic clinical instructure and nursing students is 1:19 that means inappropriate with national standard. Clinical learning performance of student can be influence by internal factors, eksternal factors dan learning approach factors, including clinical guidance by academic lecturer. Objective: the study aimed to examine relationship between clinical guidance of academical clinical instructure with clinical learning performance of diploma III nursing students. Method: It was an analytical study with cross sectional survey. the sampel of the research was consisting of 45 nursing students taken using purposive sampling. Data were obtained from questionaire and documentation of students performance. Data analysis used univariable statistic (descriptive) and bivariable statistic (product moment). Result: there was a positive significant relationship between clinical guidance of academical clinical instructure with clinical learning performance of 5th semester diploma III nursing students, School of health Sciences Wira Husada yogyakarta Academic year 2010/2011 (rxy=0,359; thitung=2,528).

Introduction Errors are inevitable in medical practice and this issue has attracted the attention of healthcare systems worldwide. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to pay attention in educational systems. The present study aimed to investigate the frequency and cause of nursing students’ errors. Methods This descriptive study conducted based on a cross-sectional design. The researcher provided nursing students with a questionnaire. The participants were selected through a purposive sampling method. Eventually, the collected data were analyzed by SPSS17. Results The mean value of errors in students was 32.83 ± 28.5 and the prevalence rate of the errors ranged from 0 to 175. In total, 2922 errors were reported by the students, the most frequent of which were wearing the same pair of gloves for the care of more than one patient (2.61 ± 2.83), negligence to wash the hands (2.41 ± 2.95) and clean the thermometer before utilization (2.19 ± 4.68). Moreover, errors in oxygen therapy (0.69 ± 1.03) and medication (0.87) obtained the lowest frequency. Furthermore, most of the students’ errors were due to not having enough knowledge about medicines (2.1 ± 7.4), lack of appropriate equipment (2.6 ± 1.7), and poor clinical skills (2.1 ± 5.6). Discussion and conclusion: The most frequent nursing students’ errors are related to hand hygiene and personal protection. In addition, the lack of enough skills and appropriate equipment are prevalent causes of nursing students’ errors. Authorities in this field should attend to these errors in nursing education, clinical practice, and nursing studies in order to promote this profession in all of these three dimensions.

Nursins education is organized with theoretical training and in practical training, it is required to provide an experience for enhancing the clinical practice performance in addition to the basic nursing technique. Simulation is growing in popularity in nursing education for augmenting learning, teaching patient safety,  teaching resuscitation and teaching clinical skills. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of simulation as a teaching tool for  acquisition clinical skills of of Utena University of Appling Science General Practice Nursing program‘ students. A quasi-experimental, pree-post test design was used to examine the effectiveness of simulation scenario on knowledge acquisition, knowledge retention, and self-efficacy in 4nd-year students in Utena University of Appling Science General Practice Nursing program.

Nurse practice – clinical learning environment and student satisfaction The purpose of this study was to investigate nursing students’ satisfaction with the clinical learning environment during clinical practice. A questionnaire was distributed to nursing students at a university (N=250) in Norway. Student satisfaction, task orientation, pedagogical atmosphere, supervisory relationship, and the premises of nursing on the ward were measured. Of the 250 students invited, 163 (66 %) completed the survey. Nursing students were largely satisfied with their clinical placement experiences, but they were more satisfied with hospital placements than home care placements. Supervision more than once a week and having one supervisor was important for student satisfaction. Students’ relationship with their supervisors was strongest associated with satisfaction with their clinical placements. Supervisors play an important role in nursing students’ satisfaction with their clinical practice, with results indicating that this should be emphasized in the development of nursing education. The results indicate that nursing guidance skills should be strengthened to ensure the quality of clinical placements in nursing education.

Purpose: Simulation teaching refers to the replication of real-life scenarios, enabling students to practice nursing skills and learn actively in a safe environment. It also helps students control their anxiety and fears when caring for real patients. This study investigated the relationships of Vietnamese nursing students’ self-confidence in clinical practice with their satisfaction and self-confidence in simulation-based practice.Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study included 182 nursing students. The data collection included 2 separate stages with 2 main questionnaires. The Student Satisfaction and Self‐Confidence in Learning Scale was used to measure students’ satisfaction and self‐confidence after learning in the simulation room. The Confidence Scale was used to measure students’ self-confidence when first performing techniques on actual patients. Data were analyzed by descriptive and Pearson correlation statistics.Results: Students’ satisfaction and self-confidence during the simulation course were quite high (mean±standard deviation [SD], 4.06±0.48 and 4.11±0.46 out of 5.0, respectively). In contrast, their confidence when first practicing on a patient was moderate (mean±SD, 3.19±0.62 out of 5.0). Students’ satisfaction showed moderate and weak positive correlations with self-confidence in pre-clinical practice and in clinical practice (r=0.33, P<0.001 and r=0.26, P<0.001, respectively).Conclusion: Simulation has become an effective teaching strategy that can help nursing students be well-prepared for clinical placements in Vietnam. An effective nursing education strategy is needed to enhance the satisfaction and self-confidence of nursing students in simulation and then in clinical practice to help achieve professional engagement and development.
