Early exposure training for university students in the medical field is seen as “an educational method that attempts to motivate students by exposing them to the field of medicine and medical care at an early stage of their education,” and it is deemed to have great educational significance because it fosters students’ humanity and motivation to learn [1]. Modern youth are becoming caregivers without the opportunity to witness or participate in parenting [2]. Globally, many countries have been experiencing super-low birthrates and aging populations, and medical students’ experiences of contact with pregnant women and infants are becoming rarer. Practical training can also be a major stressor for students, as the relationship with teachers is a stress factor [3]; it is thus necessary to build relationships with teachers from an early stage.

Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and mental human development that occurs between childhood and adulthood. This transition involves biological (i.e. pubertal), social and psychological changes. Sexual Health of adolescence is the foundation of a healthy adult and this therefore becomes an important phase to concentrate upon by all the concerned stakeholders. The statement of problem is, “a quasi experimental study to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching program in promoting knowledge regarding sexual health among adolescent girls at selected school of Jhajjar Haryana”, and the objectives were • To assess the level of pretest knowledge regarding sexual health among adolescent girls, • To assess the level of posttest knowledge regarding sexual health among adolescent girls • To find out the association between the level of post test knowledge regarding sexual health among adolescent girls and selected demographic variables. A quasi experimental approach and research design was non-randomized control group were used. 150 adolescent girls were selected as sample through Non probability convenient sampling method, 75 samples are from experimental group and 75 samples are from control group. A self-structured questionnaire on knowledge was administered. The collected data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The pre-test result of experimental group showed that 4% of adolescent girls had inadequate level of knowledge, 93.3% of adolescent girls had moderate level of knowledge and 2.67% of adolescent girls had adequate level of knowledge, and in control group, 6.67% of adolescent girls had inadequate level of knowledge, 92% of adolescent girls had moderate level of knowledge and 1.33% of adolescent girls had adequate level of knowledge. In post test result of experimental group showed that 28% of adolescent girls had moderate level of knowledge and 72% of adolescent girls had adequate level of knowledge and in control group, 74.6% of adolescent girls had moderate level of knowledge and 25.33% of adolescent girls had adequate level of knowledge. Hence, the study concluded that the research hypothesis H1 was accepted due to significant difference between pre-test and posttest knowledge score of experimental group at 0.05 level of significance.

Introduction: Chyloperitoneum is defined as the presence of lymph of thoracic or intestinal origin in the abdominal cavity. It is reported infrequently and is a rare manifestation of multiple deseases. Most of the cases are secondary and are associated with direct trauma to the peritoneal dialysis. Renal replacement therapy is necessary in up to 10% of children who undergo cardiac surgery with extracorporeal circulation, indicated in cases of water overload, acute renal dysfunction or ionic alterations. Objective: To report the case of a 15-day-old newborn, operated on for Transposition of the Great Vessels, who presented as a postoperative complication, dicharge of chylous content through the Tenckhoff, after a peritoneal dialysis regimen due to acute renal failure and fluid overload. Results: Despite the therapeutic measures taken, the patient maintains centuries-old losses of lymph, which lead to nutritional and immunological deterioration with the consequent multiple organ dysfunction and death. Conclusions: The perpetuation of lymph losses in the postoperative period of cardiovascular surgery produces a nutritional and immunological deterioration of the patient, with a high risk of mortality due to sepsis.

Pediatric inflammatory multisystem syndrome (PIMS) associated with asymptomatic COVID-19 has been reported in children of various ages from infancy onwards. The dominant symptoms of PIMS are fever above 38.5 C lasting more than three days, elevated inflammatory markers, and the occurrence of symptoms from at least two systems; the digestive system and the cardiovascular system. Early diagnosis and treatment improve prognosis and may reduce life-threatening complications. We present a case of a 7-month-old infant hospitalized in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Child Neurology in Poznan.

Introduction: lumbar disc herniation is as old as mankind. It has been described since ancient times, when man began to adopt the bipedal position and to support the entire weight of the body on his spine. According to the World Health Organization, herniated discs represent a great universal health problem. Objective: To design a care plan for patients operated on for lumbar disc herniation in the International Medical Attention Service (AMI) of the Frank País International Orthopedic Scientific Complex, deepening the knowledge of said pathological entity and identifying the socio-demographic characteristics of the staff, as well as the needs affected in patients during the period 2018-2019. Methodology: Descriptive cross-sectional study at the Frank País International Orthopedic Scientific Complex during the period 2018-2019. The sample was represented by all the nurses who work in the service (N = 13). The following variables were taken into account: age, sex, nursing degree, postgraduate completion, assessment of the physical and emotional needs of the patient, and the actions of the nursing staff to meet the needs. Results: The age of 40 to 45 years predominated (61.5%), 100% belonged to the female sex and all were professionally overcome by training. 61.5% were graduates. The needs in patients operated on for lumbar disc herniation were pain, physical activity and personal hygiene, which were found in all the patients studied. 38.4% of the personnel carried out insufficient actions, this corresponded to those who were technician qualifications. Conclusions: The design of a standardized nursing care plan regulated by the taxonomies NANDA, NIC, NOC, allowed structuring the scientific practice from the assessment to the evaluation of the results in the patient operated on for lumbar disc herniation admitted to the service of International Medical Care.

Khaled Seetan et al has done great work in the recent article published in PLOS ONE entitled as “Impact of COVID-19 on medical students’ mental wellbeing in Jordan” in putting out the light over the least covered side in chaos of pandemic by tracing out the pressure that university students had to go through amidst this pandemic of COVID-19 [1]. The fact of sudden outbreak and shattered life aspects of every individual’s despite of their possession and the stability of countries they belong is no longer new. World has clearly visualized the pain, sorrow, helplessness and collapse of every single aspect that came as other side of global pandemic. However, it is strange to note the least efforts taken to cover the impacts over students in these past two years either due to incompetence’s of policy makers or neglecting this part while competing in the race of industrialization of vaccinations.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were required to provide nursing practice within the university. This study presents details of a substitute program of practice in adult nursing (chronic care nursing) developed to meet this challenge. The program consisted of three components: (1) training in identifying problems from limited information, (2) situation-based training (implementation of the nursing process for patients with chronic disease), and (3) training in handling unforeseen developments. It was considered that nursing students could experience and learn about nursing with patients living with chronic diseases, in a similar manner to clinical practice, through a substitute practice at the university. Results indicated that students could clarify the challenges they faced and share what they learned seamlessly, highlighting the program’s potential as a new educational method. In the future, it is necessary to analyze student learning in the substitute practice and continue to deliver educational content and methods that generate positive learning effects.

Background: HIV and substance use disorder are major risk factors for poor obstetric outcomes and women who live with both conditions should be closely monitored during pregnancy and postpartum. It is unclear what engagement in obstetric care for women living with HIV and substance use disorder look like before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This literature review aims to examine engagement in obstetric care for women living with HIV and substance use disorder before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and offer strategies to increase engagement in care during the COVID-19 pandemic for this vulnerable population. Methods: A literature review was conducted on January 12, 2021 across major databases including Pubmed, PsychInfo, Cochrane, and CINAHL. Results: A total of 6 studies were included in this review. Studies either assessed outcome of engagement in care among pregnant women living with HIV or pregnant women with substance use disorder. Our findings demonstrate that pregnant women with HIV or substance use disorder tend to have comorbid conditions and are less likely to be engaged in obstetric care, and this trend is aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Approaches to care during the COVID-19 pandemic included expanding services outside of the clinic to virtual visits, telephonic engagement, text messaging, or electronic mail. Conclusion: Pregnant women with HIV and/or substance use disorder are at much higher risk for poor engagement in obstetric care, suboptimal financial and social support, and adverse outcomes. We recommend each in-person clinic visit be accompanied by thorough screening for mental health issues, and psychosocial difficulties. Referral services should be ready and accessible if the woman screens positive. Nurses are an integral part of ensuring proper care coordination and follow-up. More research is needed to examine engagement in obstetric care for women with both HIV and substance use disorder during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ongoing nursing shortage and an increased demand for nursing care, require both new and retooled delivery systems. The importance of teams delivering care and all team members working at the top of license or skill set are well established concepts. Across the continuum from home to acute care, the need to better understand and utilize the skills of the hidden workforce of nursing assistants has never been greater. The purpose of this manuscript is to explore the resource and potential of career nursing assistants and to provide recommendations for recruitment, recognition, and retainment of these important team members.
