Fish bacterial infectious diseases are a significant problem for aquaculture, often leading to massive fish deaths and significant economic losses. For fish treatment often used antibacterial drugs: nitrofuran, antibiotics, feed antibiotics, as well as dyes. Finding effective drugs and studying their effects on the body of fish are relevant. Nowadays, different groups of substances, including probiotics, are offered as an alternative to increase the growth of animals and to combat pathogens. Here are the results of studies of the influence of the probiotic drug "Enteronormin" on the indicators that characterize the status of T- and B-cell immunity of carp affected by bacterial Aeromonosis. Enteronormin is a probiotic supplement , wich contains a bacteria complex - Enterococcus spp, Bacillus subtilis spp, Lactobacillus spp; and excipients - chitosan, peptone enzymatic and ground sugar (RP № BB-00427-02-12 dated 13.04.2012). The research was conducted under the conditions of aquariums at the Lviv Research Station of the Institute of Fisheries of NAAS. The control group, which consisted of clinically healthy fish, received only 3% starch suspension, the first experimental group (D1) - Aeromonosis affected carps who were given only 3% starch suspension, the second experimental group (D2), which consisted of carps affected Aeromonosis, through the probe within 7 days was administered the drug "Enteronormin", at the rate of 2 mg per 1 kg of fish weight, in the composition of 3% starch suspension. Before feeding for the carp drug was activated for 14-16 hours water enriched with Iodine and Selenium ions in the Jodis + Se form (TU U 15.7-30631018-011: 2011). It is established that the disease of carp on Aeromonosis leads to changes in the number and functional activity of immunocompetent blood cells. The inhibition of lymphocytogenesis and functional activity of immunocompetent cells in carp blood in a disease associated with the bacterial form of aeromonosis was ascertained. The use in the experimental carps group in the composition of 3% starch suspension of the drug "Enteronormin" had a normalizing effect on the state of T-cell specific protection, but did not significantly affect the amount of EAC-RUL and their functional activity. Key words: fish, carp, aeromonosis, probiotics, Enteronormin, T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes.

Due to the impact of adverse environmental factors, unsatisfactory conditions of pig population, deterioration of food supply, abuse of antibiotics, lack of preventive measures, leads to the development of diseases among pigs, especially young, which leads to a decrease in resistance, body performance, reproduction and reduction of livestock, as well as large economic losses. The use of bacterial preparations from living microorganisms can significantly reduce or even eliminate the use of antibiotics and hormones in the cultivation of healthy animals, to obtain high-quality and safe high-grade products. The aim of the work is to study the effect of probiotic EM – 1 on the physiological state and productivity of young pigs of large white breed. The experiment was conducted on two groups (6 heads each) of animals-analogues, starting from 60 days of age, for 2 months. Animals of the control group received feed produced in the farm. Piglets of the experimental group in addition to the main diet received 5% of feed fermented with em-1. Evaluation of the physiological state and productivity of young pigs was carried out on 60, 90 and 120 days of experience according to the methods adopted in clinical practice. Hygienic, hematological, biochemical, zootechnical and statistical methods of research were used in the performance of the work. The use of probiotic EM-1 in animals of the experimental group led to an increase in hemoglobine concentration by 7.7%, an increase in the number of red blood cells by 13.7%, the total number of leukocytes by 9.52%, and glucose concentration by 11.4%. The advantage of the viability of these pigs for the content of total protein (P < 0.05), γ–globulins by 18.6%, the activity of aminotransferases (AlАT, AsAT; P < 0.05), the average daily gain increased by 12.3% at the end of the experiment. For feeding piglets feed with probiotic EM-1 increased metabolic processes, resistance and productivity of the body, which indicates a higher level of redox reactions in their body.

The aim of the work was to study the influence of stimulant drugs – the regenerating biological stimulant (RBS) and Imunolac on the immunological state and productive qualities of piglets. RBS is a complex of organic compounds of animal tissue that stimulates nonspecific immunity and increases the protective functions of the body. Imunolac is a preparation of enzymatic hydrolysis of the cell wall of Lactobacillus, activating the cellular and humoral factors of non-specific animal resistance. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: to find out the microclimate condition and sanitary regime in the boxes in which the experimental animals were kept; – to study the influence of immunostimulating drugs on the growth and intensity of the test pigs, their safety; to study the dynamics of immunological parameters (circulating immune complex (CIC), T-and B-lymphocytes), the content of immunoglobulins (Jg G, Jg M and Jg A) while using RBS and Imunolac. The research was carried out in the pedigree plant «Stepnoy» of the Zaporozhye region on pigs of the Large white breed × Landras. Piglets of the control group were injected with 0.9% sodium chloride solution at a dose of 1 ml/head. During the experiment, the microclimate was monitored for temperature, relative humidity, air speed, carbon dioxide, ammonia, air contamination with microflora. Cellular indices were determined from the ratio of neutrophils to E. coli according to VG Gostivu, 1956, bactericidal activity of blood serum (BASK) – according to the method of O.V. Smirnova and TA. Kuzmenoy, 1966, lysozyme activity of blood serum (LASK) according to V. Dorofeychuk, 1968. The content of T lymphocytes was determined according to M. Jondal, 1973, B-lymphocytes – according to N.S. When piglets were grown at the temperature lower than 3,5–8 °C, humidity – by 5–8% higher, the parameters of NH3 and CO2 higher by 0.8–1.2%, the contamination microflora was twice as much as recommended by the sanitary norms the genetic productive potential of the animals is not fully realized, while – the highest daily average weight gain was in the pigs, which were injected intramuscularly with RBS growth stimulant. They exceeded the animals from the control group on the 20th and 30th days of the experiment – by 24.3% and 14.4%, live weight – by 15.3% (P < 0.05). The growth rate in the animals that were injected with imunolac was less expressed; the diseases with the symptoms of dyspepsia and bronchopneumonia were registered in 5–10% of the pigs from the experimental groups that received RBS and imunolac that is 10–12 times less as compared to the control group; in the pigs from the experimental group 1, the BASK was at the level of the average values of 56.52 ± 2.03%, from the experimental group 2 – 59.48 ± 1.80%, by 5.2% higher (P < 0.05); LASK indices in the animals of the experimental group tended to increase but the differences were not trustworthy (P < 0.5); the cell indices of resistance in the pigs that received RBS were higher: the phagocytic activity of blood serum – by 4.3% (P < 0.05), phagocytic number – by 9.7% (P <0.05); the highest concentration of immunoglobulin of class Jg G (21.82 ± 0.3 mg/ml) was revealed in the animals that received RBS preparations, the concentration of the above immunoglobulins was slightly below – 19.86 ± 0.18 mg/ml in the pigs that received imunolac (0–1). For immunoglobulins of class Jg M and Jg A, the fluctuations  between the experimental groups were within the limits of 2.23 ± 0.01 and 2.36 ± 0.09 mg/ml.

Bacterial diseases are responsible for heavy mortality in both wild and cultured fish. Co-infections are very common in nature and occur when hosts are infected by two or more different pathogens either by simultaneous or secondary infections so that two or more infectious agents are active together in the same host. Associative infections pose a significant threat to fish farming, so it is necessary to develop effective means of prevention and treatment of these infections; it is advisable to study in detail their impact on various fish. The aim of the study was to determine the intensity of lipid peroxidation processes and the activity of the antioxidant defense system in the body of carp suffering from aeromonosis and the associated infection of aeromonosis with saprolegniosis. The research was conducted at the Lviv Research Station of the Institute of Fisheries of NAAS. There were three groups of fish, 5 in each. The control group consisted of clinically healthy fish, the first experimental group (D1) – carps affected by Aeromonas hydrophila infection, the second experimental group (D2), which consisted of carps affected by associative Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. The results of studies have shown that carp with associative infection ‒ of Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. leads to the activation of lipid peroxidation processes, especially the primary product of LPO. Thus, in the hepatopancreas of fish there was an increase of 1.4 (p <0.05) in the reasonable content of diene conjugates and there was a tendency to increase the content of TBA-active products. At the same time, the inhibitory effect of pathogenic factors of this disease on the activity of the enzymatic link of the antioxidant defense system was stated. In particular, carp patients with associative infection ‒ of Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. had higher catalase and superoxide dismutase activity, respectively, 1.3 (p <0.05) and 2.3 (p <0.01) times. The results of experimental studies made it possible to expand and deepen the mechanisms of the pathogenesis of the co-infection of Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. and to use the data to develop effective treatments.

There is information on efficacy of immunostimulating agents as a part of therapy of lung tuberculosis. Nucleotide biocorrector is a mixture of nucleotides and nucleosides derived from baking yeast of the Saccharomyces cerevis genus and presenting wide immunomodulating properties. The aim of this study was to investigate efficacy of this agent along with combined chemotherapy in 52 patients with destructive lung tuberculosis. Of them, 27 patients were treated with nucleotide biocorrector (3 g per day orally during 1 month) and conventional chemotherapeutic medication (the study group) and 25 patients (the control group) received equal chemotherapy alone. All the patients were MBT-positive. Immunological examination (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, СD16+, and CD20+ lymphocytes and their functional activity, anti-MBT-antibodies) was done before and 1 month after starting the treatment; clinical, radiological and laboratory investigations were performed at the same time and additionally in 3 month. Addition of biocorrector to the standard chemotherapy of lung tuberculosis allowed faster normalization of CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes, enhanced functional activity of T-cell immunity and increased number of CD20+ B-lymphocytes. Moreover, this therapy has facilitated resolution of lung infiltration, eradication of MBT and recovery of tuberculous cavities by the 3rd month of the treatment. Tolerability of biocorrector was good.

Summary. The disbalanced feeding and the uneven distribution of micro- and macroelements in the environment leads to a trace element, in particular hypomelanosis. To accelerate the growth and preservation of young farm animals include in the diet of various biological additives and drugs, which include selenium. For stimulation of weight gain in the livestock industry, as well as for the prevention and treatment of pathological processes in addition to micro - and macrouse amino acids, primarily methionine. The aim of this work was to study the influence of composition of DAFS-25+Polizon on morpho-biochemical parameters of blood and functional state of the liver in fattening bulls of black-motley breed in the conditions of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Experiments using were conducted on bull-calves of black-motley breed of the properties in the properties age from 6 to 15 months. The first experimental group during the experiment was additionally given the composition of DAFS-25+Polizon at a dose of 2 mg/kg, the animals of the control group received a standard diet. To assess the impact of the composition DAFS-25+Polizon on metabolism cattle studied morphological and biochemical indicators of blood and conducted histological examination of the liver. It is established that the use of the composition of DAFS-25+Polizon at a dose of 2 mg/kg increases the number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin in the experimental group and reduces the amount of white blood cells. The serum content of total protein, phosphorus and calcium increases in the group of experimental animals. Microscopic examination of the liver revealed no changes in the structure of the organ and hepatocytes in the experimental group, whereas in the control group hemodynamic disorders and dystrophic changes in liver cells were observed. Thus, the use of the composition DAFS-25+Polizon at a dose of 2 mg/kg of live weight in fattening bulls black-and-white breed contributes to the increase of redox processes in the body, stimulation of metabolism, prevent the development of liver disorders of cellular mechanisms of metabolism, optimizes the structure of the liver, which generally provides higher productivity.

Animals imported to Yakutia from other regions fall into feeding and housing conditions that differ from their usual agro-climatic conditions, which causes the problem of their adaptation. Yakutia is one of the areas where the feed of its own production has a lack of basic minerals, which affects the health and productivity of animals, which has an additional negative influence on the adaptation process of imported cattle. In order to replenish macro- and microelements in the body, it is necessary to introduce various local mineral feed additives, premixes, and use mineral salts into the ration. Under the conditions of Central Yakutia the influence of local mineral feed additives (zeolite of the Khonguruu Deposit in the Suntar district and sapropels of local lakes) containing macro- and microelements that increase the meat productivity of steers has been studied. As a result of the research the influence of local mineral feed additives on meat productivity and physiological condition of Hereford steers has been established. Influence of zeolite and sapropel in a complex with mineral salts on digestibility of nutrients of the ration and use of nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus by experimental animals has been defined. The influence of feed additives on the quality of meat products has been studied. The results have shown that the use of local mineral feed additives in the composition of ration of steers during the fattening period at a dose of 0,7 g zeolite per 1 kg of live weight of the animal and 200 g of sapropel in combination with 10 g of mineral salts contributed to the gain in live weight, carcass weight, carcass yield, yield of edible parts, and economic efficiency of fattening. For the entire period of the experiment the gain in live weight in groups was: in control group 2222,9 kg, in the 1st experimental group 2396,2 kg, in the 2nd experimental group 2471,1 kg. The total economic effect for the 1st experimental group for the period of experiment amounted to 44,3 thousand Rubles, for the 2nd experimental group 78,0 thousand Rubles or per 1 head/day 14,06 and 24,76 Rubles, respectively.

Mycotoxins have been formed in feed are secondary metabolites of fungi and are quite stable substances that have teratogenic, mutagenic and carcinogenic effects. An effective way to combat mycotoxins in feed is the use of feed additives that adsorb toxins, prevent their absorption in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal and are excreted from the body. The infl uence of coconut enterosorbent Shelltic Es on fattening and meat qualities of young pigs has been studied. It has been found in the process of fattening that the highest feed digestibility was in pigs of the experimental group, in the diet of which enterosorbent has been added. The results of studies of the chemical composition and technological properties of pork have been provided. The positive eff ect of enterosorbent on precocity, absolute average daily gain of live weight and reduction of feed expenditures per 1 kg of gain has been revealed. In pigs from the experimental group the average thickness of the fat was higher and the area of the “muscle eye” was lower compared with animals of the control group, which indicates that higher rates of carcass yield have been obtained due to faster accumulation of fat tissue. The weight of internal organs of pigs indicates the intensity of metabolic processes in the body. In experimental animals the weight of the lungs was 0,1 kg lower, and the liver and heart were higher by 0,13 and 0,01 kg, respectively. Enterosorbent had no effect on the content of vitamins in the liver of pigs of the compared groups. The content of impurities of organochlorine toxicants and toxic elements in the meat and liver of animals of the experimental group was lower than that of control analogues. Therefore, the use of enterosorbent Shelltic Es promotes more active excretion of them from the body.

AbstractWe explored how viewing one’s anthropometric virtual avatar would affect the viewer’s self-body perception through the comparative evaluation of self-concepts—self-esteem and self-compassion, within the framework of allocentric lock theory. We recruited 18 female adults, aged 18–21, who identified themselves to have some level of body image concerns, and who had had no clinical treatment for their body image. Participants were randomly assigned either to the experimental or control group. The experimental group participated in both body positivity program and virtual avatar program, whereas the control group attended the body positivity program, only. The results affirmed that the body positivity program served as a psychological buffer prior to the virtual avatar stimulus. After the virtual avatar experience, the participants demonstrated self-acceptance by lowering their expectation on how they should look like. The findings from exit interviews enriched the quantitative results. This study verified the mechanism of the altered processing of the stored bodily memory by the egocentric sensory input of virtual avatars, and offered practical potential of the study outcomes to be applied in various emerging fields where novel applications of virtual 3D technology are sought, such as fashion e-commerce.

Background. Balance and functional abilities are controlled by both sides of the body. The role of nonparetic side has never been explored for such skills.Objective. The objective of the present study was to examine the effect of a motor therapy program primarily involving the nonparetic side on balance and function in chronic stroke.Method. A randomized controlled, double blinded trial was conducted on 39 poststroke hemiparetic subjects (21, men; mean age, 42 years; mean poststroke duration, 13 months). They were randomly divided into the experimental group(n=20)and control group(n=19). The participants received either motor therapy focusing on the nonparetic side along with the conventional program or conventional program alone for 8 weeks (3 session/week, 60 minutes each). The balance ability was assessed using Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and Functional Reach Test (FRT) while the functional performance was measured by Barthel Index (BI).Result. After intervention, the experimental group exhibited significant(P<0.05)change on BBS (5.65 versus 2.52) and BI (12.75 versus 2.16) scores in comparison to the control group.Conclusion. The motor therapy program incorporating the nonparetic side along with the affected side was found to be effective in enhancing balance and function in stroke.

Objective: The operating procedure of a resternotomy in open-heart surgery is a complicated procedure with potentially problematic outcomes partly due to potential adhesions in the pericardial cavity and retrosternal space. Use of a collagen membrane has shown encouraging results in adhesion prevention in several regions of the body. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of this collagen membrane in the prevention of pericardial adhesions. Materials and methods: A total of 12 pigs were divided randomly into 2 groups: an experimental group in which collagen membranes were used and a control group. After sternotomy and an anterior pericardiectomy, the epicardial surface was exposed to room air and irrigated with saline, and an epicardial abrasion was performed using a sponge. The pericardial defect was repaired using a collagen membrane in the experimental group or left uncovered in the control group. After 8 to 12 weeks, the pigs were killed, and a resternotomy was performed by a single-blinded surgeon enabling the evaluation of adhesions. The heart was then removed and sent for microscopic assessment conducted by a single-blinded pathologist. Results: The resternotomy operations performed using a collagen membrane demonstrated a nonstatistically significant trend of fewer macroscopic and microscopic adhesions in all regions ( P > .05), particularly in the retrosternal and defect regions. Conclusions: This study showed nonstatistically significant differences between the outcomes in the collagen membrane group and the control group in both macroscopic and microscopic adhesion prevention. Due to the many limitations in animal study design, further studies in human models will be needed before the true value of this procedure can be evaluated.
