The article analyses the operational characteristics of 10W LED lamps with T8 bulb manufactured by ASD (Russia), Smartbuy (Taiwan), and VOLPE (PRC) and 18W FL with T8 bulb manufactured by PHILIPS (Poland) including the dependence of these lamps on the supply voltage. The results of measurements show that: a) the period of stabilisation of electric parameters and luminous flux of LED lamps does not cause discomfort of illumination unlike the said FL, the luminous flux of which at the moment of switching on is 70 % of the nominal value, which is reached after 13 minutes; b) with nominal voltage of supply network, the value of luminous flux of 10W ASD LED-T8R-STD LED lamp (Russia) is 6 % less than the declared one, and that of Smartbuy SBL-T8-10-64K-A (Taiwan) and VOLPE LED-T8-10W/DW/G13/FR/FIX/N (PRC) is even less; c) the general colour rendering index of all studied LED lamps is less than the declared one (72 instead of 80); d) the flicker index of all studied LED lamps does not exceed the declared value of 5 %; e) the characteristics of LED lamps almost do not depend on changes of the supply voltage within the range of ±10 %. The recommendations regarding the application of the studied LED lamps are given.

Article overviews prospects of application of adjustable polychrome LED luminaires based on RGB mixture principle for museum lighting. Such light sources allow creating of high-quality lighting systems with capability to adjust luminous flux and chromaticity characteristics with a wide range of correlated colour temperatures between 2800 K and 6500 K and high values of all colour rendering indexes: R1-R14. Application of adjustable LED light sources makes it possible to do artificial museum lighting similar to natural environment at the moment of creating of a piece of art by an artist, hence, to make its perception more precise. Possibility to adjust the correlated colour temperature allows creating individual lighting of paintings in compliance with the genre and subject of a work (a portrait, a landscape, time period, etc.). The article also briefly describes major theoretical, circuit design and software aspects of creation of a dynamically adjustable LED system of museum lighting and gives first examples of its application.

The light emitting diodes (LEDs) are ever more used, and their price is getting lower year on year. Although, exchanging traditional light sources for the LED lamps does not seem to be complicated, we need to remember to maintaining high–quality of light. One of the aspects we should be worry about is a light’s flickering. Due to the shape of the current–voltage characteristics of the LED diode and their dependence on temperature, the value of the luminous flux – but also the lifetime – depends to a large extent on the stability of the supply voltage. Therefore, correct power system should be a thermally stable current source. Unfortunately, the simple power systems, equipped with passive filters are often used as cheap commercial solutions. In those types of systems stability of the output voltage is heavily dependent on the load conditions. Passive filters – usually consisting of coils and capacitors – are placed in the output circuit. This paper presents research carried out to show of filter capacitance influence on flickering phenomenon, and practical light’s flickering measuring technique for the LED lamps.

The paper presents the results of laboratory tests concerning the measurements of electrical parameters of road lighting luminaires. These measurements were focused on determining the dependence of the electrical parameters of the luminaires versus the changes of the RMS (Root Mean Square) value of the supply voltage and the level of disturbances in the supply voltage. The basic electrical parameters for light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires were analysed with the option of luminous flux adjustment if it existed. During the laboratory measurements, the luminaires were powered from the Agilent 6834B distorted voltage generator within the assumed acceptable range of the changes in the deformation level resulting from the applicable legal provisions for the reproduction of actual power supply conditions.

Working standards for compact lamps is very important to some inspection organizations in Egypt.  We prepare the working standard lamp of high power compact lamp .These lamps provide the realization of luminous flux scale in the photometry laboratory in national institute for standard (NIS).  We choose three types of lamps in our study.  The lamp types are compact florescent lamp at nominal watt (WL1) 85watt, (WL2) at nominal Watt 105 Watt with ballast and (WL3) at nominal Watt 105watt without ballast.  The spectral power distributions of all the standard lamps and test lamps are measured.  The results of experimentally obtained values of luminous flux of each lamp type at the calibration values of supply voltage at 220 volts are illustrated.

The influence of parasitic parameters of the power supply network (active resistance and inductance) on the accuracy of resistance welding diagnostics is estimated. Evaluation of the effectiveness of various control algorithms when operating under conditions of fluctuations in the supply voltage is performed. The methodic for determining the parasitic parameters of the network is presented. Keywords: resistance welding, automation, control and diagnostics. [email protected]

The voltage, current and power are measured for short arc ultra-high pressure mercury lamps (UHP) with rating power 250 W driven by 50 Hz square waveform power supply. It is found that the curve slope of voltage-current characteristics is positive in most of the power range, and negative around 170 W. The photometric, colorimetric and electric parameters are measured with an integrating sphere system couple with a spectrometer in UHP dimming experiments. The results show luminous flux increases with power linearly. The luminous efficacy and color rendering index (CRI) reduce with power reduction because of the decrease of spectral continuum. The mercury pressure are calculated with the full width at the half maximum (FWHM) of 546 nm spectral band, which is 6.2-11.0 nm according to the mercury pressure 15.3-25.8 MPa for UHP power 43-258 W.

This paper examines the characteristics of LED filament lamps from various manufacturers: LLC “ Lisma “(Russia), an American company with production in China “ GENERAL LIGHTING CO.LTD”, a joint Chinese-Russian company “ Uniel “and Taiwan company” Smartbuy “ in the A60 bulb – the time of stabilization of characteristics, luminous flux, colour temperature, colour rendering index, flicker index, radiation spectrum during 6000 hours of burning. The research was carried out on the Gooch&Housego measuring system. The results of experimental studies that showed that the clear leader in the test results is the lamp SDF‑8 (LISMA), according to GOST of all tested samples of led filament lamps, it can be recommended for lighting in lighting devices for household lighting.

To enhance the power of the engine and improve the emissions performance, The Intake air temperature signal , knock signal, throttle signal and power supply voltage signal were used as the correction references for the ignition advance angle. According to the parameter characteristics, the schemes of the measurement and control were proposed. The sensors were selected and corresponding parameters were determined. And then parameters of signal processing circuits designed, so that determined the moment of ignition. The experiment proved that the electronic ignition system designed in this paper, can meet the expected demand.

High-power LEDs with high luminous efficacies, compact sizes, long lifetimes and a wide colour range, are rapidly taking the place of conventional light sources in general lighting applications. But these properties of high-power LEDs are dependent on temperature and driving current. In this study, 24 samples of commercially available, high-power, white LEDs were measurement for their electrical, optical and thermal characteristics as well as their efficiency, luminous flux, luminous efficacy, correlated colour temperature and colour rendering index over six temperature steps at three different driving currents. LED manufacturers' catalogues including such information will allow consistency between the design and application stages of an installation. Also, it will make the technical and economic optimization of luminaires using high-power LEDs easier.
