The objective of this classroom action research (CAR) was to improve the students’ speaking skills through video based scientific approach at class XI MIPA 1 SMAN 9 Mataram in the Academic Year of 2019/2020. The CAR was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meetings. The steps were reconnaissance, planning, action and observation, and reflection. The researcher worked collaboratively with the English teacher and the students. The data collected were in the forms of qualitative. The qualitative data were gained through observing, interviewing the English teacher and students, and taking photographs. The data were in the forms of vignettes, interview transcripts, and photographs. In addition, this research implemented five criteria of validity namely democratic validity, dialogic validity, outcome validity, process validity, and catalytic validity. To get the trustworthiness, the researcher used some triangulation principles such as time triangulation and investigator triangulation. The results of this research showed that using videos based on scientific approach in the teaching and learning of speaking was proved to improve the students’ speaking skills in five aspects: vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and comprehension. The students were more enthusiastic in learning speaking. They could actively involve in the speaking learning process. Moreover, the students were more confident and fluent in speaking practices.

The objective of the research is to improve the third grade students’ simple communication ability of SD Muhammadiyah Macanan in the academic year of 2017/2018 with the use of Fun English Pictures media. It was expected that Fun English Pictures could improve the students’ simple communication ability. Based on the observation, there were some problems in the teaching and learning of simple communication. To solve those problems, the researcher implemented Fun English Pictures as a learning media. The research was carried out through action research that consisted of two cycles. The researcher collaborated with the English teacher in implementing the actions and an observer. The data were in the forms of qualitative. The qualitative data were in the forms of field notes, observation sheet, interview transcripts, and photographs. The validity used were democratic validity, outcome validity, process validity, catalytic validity and dialogic validity. The reliability used was time triangulation and investigator triangulation. The steps of the research were reconnaissance, planning, action and observation and reflection. The research found that: (1) Fun English Pictures can improve students’ simple communication ability and can help them to speak confidently, (2) the use of Fun English Pictures can give the students more chances for practicing simple communication, and therefore the students can lose their fears of making mistakes and be more confident, (3) the use of Fun English Pictures can improve the students’ fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary and accuracy.

The objective of this study was to investigate whether the application of Teams-Games-Tournament Technique improve the students achievement in Speaking. This study was an classroom action research. The subject of this study was class XI IPA 3 SMA Muhammadiyah 8 Kisaran which consists of 35 students. The study was conducted in two cycles, cycle I consisted of three meetings and cycle II was consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative (oral speaking test) and qualitative data (observation sheet and diary note). Based on speaking scores, students’ score kept improving in every evaluation and based on observation sheet and diary note, it was found that teaching and learning process ran well. Students could enlarge their thinking process. The result of this study showed that Teams-Games-Tournament improved students’ achievement in speaking.

This study attempts to improve students’ vocabulary achievement through Clustering Technique. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class VIII-B SMP Katolik Trisakti 2 Medan that consisted of 32 students. The research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were vocabulary tests for quantitative data and diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet for qualitative data. Students’ score kept improving in every test. In the first cycle test, the mean of vocabulary score was 64.68. And in the second cycle test, the mean of vocabulary score was 79.85. Based on diary notes, observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, teaching and learning process had done effectively showed the improvement. Every student was studied actively. And from the research can be concluded that Clustering Technique can improve students’ achievement in vocabulary.

<p>The purpose of the study was to improve the learning results of bump pass basic motion of mini volleyball game toward the fifth grade students of SD Djamaatul Ichwan Surakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018.<br />This research was a classroom action research (CAR). It was conducted in two cycles where each cycle consists of four stages namely as planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. There were 29 students from the fifth grade of SD Djama’atul Ichwan as the subject of the research. The sources of the research were taken from the students, the researcher, and the teacher as a collaborator. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted tests and observation. Triangulation data was used to check the validity of the test. The data analysis used in this research was descriptive qualitative technique based on the analysis of the qualitative percantage.<br />According to the pre-cycle result, it was found that only 9 students who were completed or only about 31.03% and there were 20 students who were not completed or about 68.97%. In the cycle I, it was obtained that the learning results of the students who were completed as many of 14 students (48,28%) and there were 15 students who were not completed (51,72%) where the affective average was (75,86%), the psychomotor was (31,03%), and the cognitive was (79,31%). In the cycle II, it was found that the learning results of students who were completed as many of 23 students or about 79.31% and there were 6 students who were not complete or about 20,69% where the affective average was (93.10%), the psychomotor was (72.41%) and the cognitive was (79.31%). According to the analysis of cycle I and cycle II, it showed the significant improvement and in accordance to the target achievements.<br />Based on the results, it could be concluded that: modified ball in learning process could increase the learning results of bump pass basic motion in mini volleyball game toward the fifth grade students of SD Djamaatul Ichwan Surakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018.</p>

<p><em>This research was classroom action research. Classroom action research was a research that was conducted by a teacher in order to find out solutions of any problems found during teaching and learning process. In this research, it was done to explain whether by using an outline technique could improve the students’ writing paragraph and also to investigate some factors that influenced the students in writing descriptive paragraph. This research was done at grade VIII B of SMP Negeri 6 Sungai Penuh in academic year 2017/2018. From the result of the test in this research, the result was increased in cycle and two. In cycle one, the mean score was 58.25% and it increased to 76.87%, it increased 18.63% point. It meant that teaching writing through outline improved the students’ writing skill. The improvements were also improved on the result of each sub-indicators of writing test between cycle 1 and 2. </em></p>

This study is aimed to know the improvement in writing background of Classroom Action Reseach proposal by using Scientific Approach done by the sixth semester students of English Department of Nommensen University Academic Year 2020/2021.Scientific writing is a way for someone to put the concept of thinking in written form so that other people can understand what is being thought. The method used here is an action research using Scientific Approach.In conducting this classroom action research, the writer divided the action into twocycles. The instrument of collecting data were qualitative data from observation, interview, diary notes, and documentation. Quantitative data were taken from students writing of CAR proposal, which was carried out in the end of everycycle.  It is applied for students’ learning in writing Classroom Action research proposal. The students are expected to have logical thinking aspects, data objectivity, vocabulary mastery, use of Enhanced Spelling (EYD), use of effective sentences, and paragraph development. The result showed that Scientific Approach  can improve students’ ability to write background of Classroom Action research proposal since inapplying Scientific Approachare found that students are very active in doing observation, questioning, experimenting, associating and communicating so it motivated  students to achieve the maximum learning outcomes.

The purpose of this study is to improve the ability of teacher performance in the Teaching and Learning Process (PBM) through the guidance and supervision of School Principals at MIS Meunasah Teungoh Academic Year 2018/2019. The research was conducted at MIS Meunasah Teungoh. The School Action Research Subjects (PTS) are all teachers at MIS Meunasah Teungoh in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. The number of teachers is 10 teachers with 1 male teacher and 6 female teachers. This School Action Research (PTS) was conducted in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. The School Action Research (PTS) was conducted in a period of 3 months from August 2018 to October 2018 in Odd Semester. The methodology of this research is the School Action Research (PTS) consisting of two Cycles. In each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research procedure consisted of, planning Cycle one, implementing Cycle one action, observing Cycle one, reflecting Cycle one, planning Cycle two, implementing Cycle two actions, observing Cycle two and reflecting Cycle two. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation. Data were analyzed by means of percentage statistics. The results showed that there was an increase in teacher performance in teaching and learning from 72.50% in Cycle I and increased to 87.50% in Cycle II. Teacher performance activities increased from 65.00% in Cycle I and increased to 90.00%. The application of the guidance and supervision techniques of the School Principal can improve the activities and results of teacher performance in the teaching and learning process at MIS Meunasah Teungoh 2018/2019 Academic Year.

This Classroom Action Research aims to increase learning motivation and mastery of E-learning by using the Zenius application in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kampar Utara in the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 32 people. This research was conducted from the beginning of April 2020 until the end of April 2020. This research is a classroom action research conducted online using several questionnaires, the link of which is sent to students through their WhatsApp group. This online research was conducted because it did not allow the writer to conduct research directly to school because at this time the teaching and learning process was carried out online. This online learning is due to the spread of the COVID-19 corona virus in almost all countries including Indonesia.

The aims of the study are to know whether communicative games have an impact on teaching speaking skill and describe how communicative games give an influence on speaking skills of students at junior high schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was implemented based on Kurt. L model. The procedures used were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. It was done into two cycles in each cycle consisted of three meetings. The researcher used collaborative action research with some of the English teachers. In collecting the data, the instruments were interview, observation, questionnaire and test. The test only given to students. The rest of the instruments administered for both teachers and students. The result of the study showed the mean score’s pretest reached of 60.42 to 69.02 and post test’s score reached up to 78.77. It is important to describe that there is a significant improvement of 13.9% to 41.7% in post test 1 and 83.33% in post test 2. Therefore, the criteria of success had been determined. It is crucial to note that communicative games have contributed a positive impact on teaching learning process. This also implies the communicative games expected to enhance students’ enthusiasm and motivation. Clearly, It gives positive improvement on students’ active participation, confidence and their fluency in speaking skill. In short it can be described that the strategy of teaching and learning creates good, enjoyable circumstances and reduces the boredom and stress of learning process.

<p>This research investigates the use of code-switching by the teacher in English class of SMP Negeri 4 Surakarta in the academic year 2015/2016. The subject of this research is the English teacher and the students of three classes in grade VII. The focus of this research is the teacher's code-switching covering the types, reasons/motivations, and the functions of code-switching. This research uses a qualitative method in the form of case study. Furthermore, the technique of analyzing data used in this research is interactive model consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion/verification. The data in this research are teachers’ utterances, students’ utterances, and interview statements that are obtained from observation and interview. The implementation of code-switching in SMP Negeri 4 is a common practice since it brings an advantage to English teaching and learning process.</p>
