The aims of the study are to know whether communicative games have an impact on teaching speaking skill and describe how communicative games give an influence on speaking skills of students at junior high schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was implemented based on Kurt. L model. The procedures used were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. It was done into two cycles in each cycle consisted of three meetings. The researcher used collaborative action research with some of the English teachers. In collecting the data, the instruments were interview, observation, questionnaire and test. The test only given to students. The rest of the instruments administered for both teachers and students. The result of the study showed the mean score’s pretest reached of 60.42 to 69.02 and post test’s score reached up to 78.77. It is important to describe that there is a significant improvement of 13.9% to 41.7% in post test 1 and 83.33% in post test 2. Therefore, the criteria of success had been determined. It is crucial to note that communicative games have contributed a positive impact on teaching learning process. This also implies the communicative games expected to enhance students’ enthusiasm and motivation. Clearly, It gives positive improvement on students’ active participation, confidence and their fluency in speaking skill. In short it can be described that the strategy of teaching and learning creates good, enjoyable circumstances and reduces the boredom and stress of learning process.

Abstract In this study, the researcher used method Classroom Action Research (CAR) to improve the quality of the learning and teaching processes as well as to detect and solving the problems that found in the teaching and learning process. The subjects of this research were the 34 students in SMK Budi Bhakti Utama Padalarang. The researcher used collaborative action research with some English teachers in the school. In this study, the researcher using the instruments interview and questionnaire test to collecting the data. The test that given to students is pre test and also post test in the and of the class or after the students has a treatment. In this result of the study showed the mean score of pretest is 62.02 to 64.00 and post test’s score reached up to 79.00. It is important to describe that there is a significant improvement of the test. Therefore, the criteria of success had been determined. It is crucial to remember that communicative games have contributed and positive impact on teaching and learning process. The communicative games like snowball throwing game expected to enhance students’ motivation and enthusiasm in learning English. Clearly, It gives positive improvement on students’ confidence and their fluency in speaking skill. This research is aimed at improving students� speaking skill by using picture strip story in class XI IPA 1 of Senior High School 1 Luragung. The problems in this research are the low of students� skill in speaking. This research was applied through collaborative action research which was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research was English subject in class XI IPA I with total number of students 34. The result of the research showed that picture strip story could improve students� speaking skill. The result of test I was 62.69, test II was 68.83 and test III was 74.22. The students who passed the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) were 22 students or 64.71%. In addition, the result of field notes showed that the classroom situation during teaching learning process by using picture strip story created the positive atmosphere. In cycle 1, there were no students who chatted and played handphone during the teaching and learning process by using picture strip story, all of students in a group did the task together and discussed it each other, the students could answer teacher�s question, and all of students spoke in English while expressing their ideas. In cycle 2, the classroom situations were completed with students asking questions to the teacher.Keywords: speaking skill, picture strip story, improve, collaborative action research

This Collaborative Classroom Action Research aimed at enhancing students’ speaking skill through the application of Circle Game. It was conducted in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject was the seventh of C class of SMPN 2 Alas Barat consisting of 22 students. The types of data were qualitative (acquiring observation during the learning process) and quantitative (speaking tests). The results qualitatively showed that the implementation of Circle Game enhanced the students’ speaking skills. Such improvement could be seen from their enthusiasm, their interesting feeling in various materials presented by the teacher, their active involvement. In the quantitative findings, the result also showed a higher value of the mean score of the post-test (77.34) rather than the pre-test (75.75). In conclusion, the use of Circle Game can improve students’ speaking skill.

English has won the status of International language. The quality of our expression depends on our use of speaking skills. The importance and value of speaking English have been accepted worldwide. In Pakistan, Teaching English was mainly focused upon reading and writing skills. But in today’s world, listening and speaking skills have become much more important than in the past. Recently, the value of role-play in the classroom situation has become mandatory to make the teaching-learning process easy, attractive, and interesting. The implementation of role-play was expected to be an effective way to improve the learners’ speaking skills. So in the present study, the focus is on this matter whether the use of role play can be beneficial in bringing a positive change in the teaching-learning process of speaking skills for elementary level learners. The collective problems of the teachers and students during speaking English were the main focus of the study. 360 students and twenty teachers of Bahawalpur region participated in this study. Pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire were used as a tool to collect the data from the respondents. The findings of the study showed that there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. It was suggested that speech practice with the help of role play should be encouraged at the elementary level.

The objective of this research is to know whether Podcast can improve the students’ pronunciation in speaking English when it is implemented in teaching learning process in class 01 Semester I, English Education Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, UNISRI, Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year.This research method used a Classroom Action Research which was implemented in two cycles. The subject of the research was class 01 Semester I, English Education Program, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, UNISRI, Surakarta in 2019/2020 Academic Year. This study was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle consisted of four meetings, and the second cycle consisted of three meetings. The procedure of the action research consisted of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview, field notes, and test. To analyze the quantitative data, the researcher applied descriptive statistics. It was used to compare the scores and means of pre-test and post-test. The pre-test was conducted in the preliminary research while post-test was conducted at the end of cycle 1 and 2. The result of the test was used to know how well the students understand the text of listening. To analyze the qualitative data, the researcher analyzed the improvement of the teaching learning process based on the results of questionnaire, interview, and field notes.The result of the research showed that the use of Podcast has helped students to get exposed to correct pronunciation. By constantly listening to Podcast of native speakers of English, students develop their skill not only in listening but also in pronouncing the words in English correctly. It also has helped the students in improving the students’ vocabulary mastery. In conclusion, by listening to Podcast, students can improve their pronunciation and vocabulary mastery so that they also can speak more during the speaking activity.Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that students’ pronunciation in English can be improved by the use of Podcast. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers and students can use Podcast as one of the alternative techniques in teaching and learning speaking.Keywords : Podcast, Proununciation, Speaking Skill, Action Research

    To learn something well, we need to hear, see, ask questions about it, and discuss it with others. Not only that, teachers need to "do it", that is to describe something in their own way, to show their example, to try to practice their skills and to do tasks that demand the knowledge they have gained. Problems to be studied in this research are: a. How to improve learning outcomes penjaskes especially soccer game using cooperative learning methods on students SDN 44 Lubuk Anau? b. The steps taken to improve the outcome of the guidance in January 2016? This research is a research action (action research) Because research done to solve the problem of learning in class. This research also includes descriptive research, because it describes how a learning technique is applied and how desired results can be achieved. According to Oja and Sumarjan (in point sugiarti, 1997: 8) there are four different types of action research, namely: (1) teacher action research as a researcher, (2) collaborative action research, (3) research of interlinked simulative action. (4) experimental social action research. In this action research uses collaborative research forms with teacher training eyes and in the teaching and learning process in the classroom as a teacher is the teacher of training eye while peneiti acts as an observer, the full responsibility of action research is observer (researcher). Data Analysis Technique, To know the effectiveness of a method in learning activities need to be held data analysis. In this research using qualitative descriptive analysis technique, that is a research method that is describe reality or facts in accordance with the data obtained with the aim to know learning achievements achieved sisw also to obtain student responses to learning activities and student activities during the learning process To analyze the success rate or percentage of students' success after the learning process each round is done by giving evaluation in the form of practice test at the end of each round. This analysis is calculated by using simple statistic that is: For learning mastery, There are two categories of mastery learning that is individual and classical. Based on the guidance of the implementation of teaching and learning curriculum 1994 (Depdikbud, 1994) that students have complete learning when the class gets 85% who have reached the absorption. From the results of learning activities that have been done for three cycles and based on the entire pembahaan and analysis that has been done can be concluded as follows: Learning by the method of learning play methods have a positive impact in improving student learning achievement characterized by the improvement of student learning completeness in each cycle, cycle I (61,54%), cycle II (89,74%), while for affective aspect that is cycle I (84,62%), cycle II (100%) Application of learning method of play method have positive influence, that can increase student learning motivation which is indicated by the average of students' answers which states that students are interested and interested in learning method of play method so that they are motivated to learn.

The aim of this research was to improve the speaking learning process of eight grade students ofSMP Islam Terpadu (IT) QurrotaA’yunPaluin the academic year of 2019/2020 through animation movie. This study was an class action research study. It was conducted in two cycles, from the 4th of March to the 12th of March 2020. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The steps of the research were planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 30 students of VIII D class, the English teacher, and the researcher. The data were in the form of qualitative data and also supported by quantitative data. The qualitative data were obtained by observing the teaching and learning process, interviewing the students and collaborators, holding discussions with the collaborators, and taking pictures of the teaching and learning process. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were obtained through post-test, the field notes and interview transcripts were analyzed qualitatively through four steps namely data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of this research showed that the implementation of animation movie in the speaking learning process was effective to make the students become enthusiastic in the Englishspeaking activities. The use of animation movie that was combined with speaking performances and group works made significant progress in the speaking learning process. The students were interested towards the materials, could understand the materials easily, and spoke more confidently. In reference to the number, the students who was completely the score of speaking skill was improved from 70% to 80% and the number of the students who has a high confidence in speaking was improved from 78% to 82,66%. The students’ interest level toward speaking was improved through the use of animation movies because they could learn speaking English through fun activities with their friends. Therefore, they were not bored in the teaching-learning process.

The aim of this research is to find out how the implementation of role plays can improve the students’ speaking skill of grade VII of MTs Mualimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in academic year 2011/2012 and how students respond to the use of role plays methods in teaching and learning process. This research is an action research. In this study the researcher uses action research theory proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart. The participants of the research are the students of grade VII of MTs Mualimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The research instrument used by the writer is in the form of observation checklist and test. The data in the research are mainly gathered through the use of pre-test, observation, questionnaires, and post-test. After the data are collected, the researcher analyzes them. The researcher uses the pre-test as the basis for measuring the students’ reading skill. The finding of the research shows that the implementation of translation and discussion can improve students’ speaking skill of grade VII of MTs Muhammmadiyah Yogyakarta in academic year 2011/2012. In the pre-test result, in which they formerly did not learn using discussion and translation, the mean of the pre-test was 55.64. After they learnt English using discussion and translation, the mean of the post-test was 63.3. The students’ response was positive when role plays methods were applied in teaching speaking.

AbstractThis chapter discusses the assumptions, implementation and deliverables of an action research project in a selected Polish class of integrated form. The main objective of the project was to trigger changes in the learning–teaching process based on the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach and thus promote inclusive education. The action research lasted one school semester. The empirical data, mainly qualitative, triangulating various sources of information and synthesising perspectives, were used to identify specific topics and threads identified in the gathered inputs, to present it in an orchestrated manner and to interpret it. It has been indicated that UDL approach implementation has a positive impact on the course of the teaching–learning process and optimises it to enhance the activity, commitment, self-reliance and responsibility of students and develops their cooperation, which breeds inclusion in education. Meanwhile, it stimulates teachers to change their mindset with a view to the essence of success in education and supports their daily practice.

This study examines ways of improving Arabic's teaching and learning process by applying YouTube video clips as audio-visual aids. Eighteen Arabic students in Kaduna State College of Education and Kwara State University constituted the study sample. A descriptive method with Pre-test and Post-test was conducted. Data were collected through the essay writing, translation, and structure test. The data were analyzed through the descriptive statistics of frequency (f) and percentage (%). The study findings revealed that the subjects performed better and demonstrated linguistic communicative competence in Arabic. Finally, the study recommends that YouTube videos should be integrated into the Arabic teaching-learning process.
