This article reports on the purpose of the research was to explain whether context clues gives improvement toward students’ vocabulary mastery in understanding reading texts by using google classroom application at grade XII MS 2 of SMAN Plus of Riau Province, with collecting the data, checklists, field notes, and tests were used.  This classroom action research consisted of two cycles constituting 3 meetings for each cycle. The result of this research shows that the students’ vocabulary mastery in understanding reading texts by using google classroom application increased in each cycles. In the first cycle, the percentage of students’ vocabulary mastery by using google classroom application was 80.60%. But, the result was not satisfactory yet. In the second cycle, the increase of students’ vocabulary mastery by using google classroom application  was 90.08%. It means that there is the increase of students’ vocabulary mastery in understanding reading texts  by using google classroom application in second cycles. In conclusion, the use of context clues could increase the students’ vocabulary mastery in understanding reading texts by using google classroom application.

The purposes of this research were to find out whether example non-example strategy can improve the students’ writing skill on descriptive, and to find out what factors influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill in writing descriptive text. This research was Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles, which each cycle had three meetings. It was conducted from August 1st until August 31th.The researcher gathered the data in each cycles from observation checklist, field notes, interviews, and writing test. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that Example non-example strategy was able to improve the students’ writing skill of descriptive text through the process of comprehending the students, and assisting the students while they were writing. As the results, the students could improve their writing skill which involved the improvement of mean score of writing indicators; vocabulary, content/ideas, and organization. Moreover, it could be seen from the improvement of their mean score of basic score (56), test I (h62.5), and test II (79.4). Furthermore, the factors that influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill involved materials, media, and learning strategy. To sum up, the implementation of Example non-example strategy in teaching writing of descriptive text could provide positive results on their writing skill

This study aims to apply the syndicate group discussion method to increase students' learning activeness of fifth class in SDN (public elemantary school) Beru 02 Wlingi on legislation central and local levels matter. This type of research is a classroom action research. Collecting data using observation sheet and field notes. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of study showed that the syndicate group discussion method can increase students' learning activeness, with increase the average score from the first cycle to the second cycle is 23.67. This article is a report of one-cycle Classroom Action Research conducted to the fifth undergraduate English majors in STKIP-PGRI Banjarmasin. This study was conducted to implement the strategy of affinity grouping which became an alternative to solve the students’ writing problem of exploring and generating ideas which, in turn, improved their writing abilities. The instruments used for collecting data were field notes, questionnaires, and students’ classification essay projects. This classroom action research conducted to 38 participants at the seventh grade class D of SMPN 29 in2011/2012 academic years. It tries to improve their writing skill by applying semantic mapping strategy. Theresearcher collecting writing tests, observations, field notes, and interview as the instrument. The date reveals that improvement exists after the treatment on the students' writing skill. The data indicates that some factors influenced their improvement. The first was brainstorming process that led them easy to convey and think about the ideas. The second was the categorization process that made them easy to determine kinds of the idea. The third was the mapping process made them easy to write a good descriptive paragraph. The last was the teacher’s roles facilitated them to have an effective class.

The research aims at improving EFL students’ vocabulary through Alphabetical Cards. The subject of this classroom action research was 40 students. The research was a classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles where each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The data of this research were obtained from the results of the test and observation sheet, questionnaire, field notes, during the implementation of the action. The findings of the research showed that Alphabetical Cards was effective in improving EFL students’ vocabulary. The effectiveness of Alphabetical Cards was shown by the improvement of students’ score. The findings revealed that in cycle 1 there were 18 students who achieved minimum criteria of achievement. It means that the classical achievement was 45%. In cycle 2, it showed that there were 36 of 40 students who achieved the minimum criteria of achievement. It means that the gain achievement was 90%. Gain achievement is based on the number of students who get the score at least the criteria of success (70). Both of the gained and individual achievements have met the criteria of success. It can be concluded that the alphabetical cards is very effective to improve the students’ vocabulary.

Abstract: The Use of Picture Media to Enhance Students’ Writing Ability of Recount Text at MTs N 1 of Bengkulu City, Bengkulu. This study was carried out to improve the students’ writing ability through Pictures media in Second Year Students at Mts N 01 of Bengkulu in the academic year 2018-2019. The subjects of this study have consisted of 42 students. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The Classroom Action Research design applied in this study was a collaborative classroom action research. It means that the researcher collaborated with the English teacher of Mts N 01 of Bengkulu as an observer and collaborator. The study was carried out in three cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meetings. The data were gathered in this study through field notes, and test. The result of the study showed that there was an improvement in students’ writing ability. Most of the students gradually gained good scores at the end of each cycle. The score of Minimum Mastery Criterion- Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) of English subject was 70 (seventy). In the cycle, the result of the students' score was poor. In cycle 2 the result of the students' score has some signs of progress, and in the cycle 3, the result of the students' score has improved effectively than action in the cycle before where the mean score of students was in 75 (Good). In addition, there was a positive response from the English Teacher about implementing the action. In conclusion Pictures, media could solve the students’ problems and improve their writing ability.Abstrak: Penggunaan Media Gambar untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menulis Teks Recount Siswa di MTs N 1 Kota Bengkulu, Bengkulu. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa melalui media Pictures pada Siswa Kelas Dua di Mts N 01 Bengkulu pada tahun akademik 2018-2019. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 42 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif. Ini berarti bahwa peneliti berkolaborasi dengan guru bahasa Inggris Mts N 01 dari Bengkulu sebagai pengamat dan kolaborator. Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga pertemuan. Data dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini melalui catatan lapangan, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa. Sebagian besar siswa secara bertahap memperoleh skor bagus di akhir setiap siklus. Skor Kriteria Penguasaan Minimum- Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris adalah 70 (tujuh puluh). Pada siklusnya, hasil nilai siswa buruk. Pada siklus 2 hasil skor siswa memiliki beberapa tanda kemajuan, dan pada siklus 3, hasil skor siswa telah meningkat secara efektif daripada tindakan dalam siklus sebelum di mana skor rata-rata siswa berada di 75 (Baik) . Selain itu, ada tanggapan positif dari Guru Bahasa Inggris tentang penerapan tindakan. Kesimpulannya Pictures, media dapat memecahkan masalah siswa dan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mereka.

In the preliminary study, the researchers found that the average value of fluency in English speaking is 2.25. This is because of the teacher always uses monotonous, less enjoyable learning strategy and the teacher only focuses on completing the material so that the learning process can only transfer knowledge so that the level of mastery of the material is low which ultimately decreases student achievement. To overcome this problem, researchers propose a strategy in teaching speaking skill, namely role-playing learning strategy. This study is designed to improve fluency in English speaking by using role playing learning strategy. This study aims to explain how role-playing learning strategy can improve fluency in English speaking in the 4th semester, English Study Program, Business Administration Department, State Polytechnic of Madiun. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design which is collaborative in nature where researchers and teacher collaborate in carrying out this research. Researcher act as observer while English teacher become collaborator of researcher in implementing role playing learning strategy. This research was carried out in a cycle that refers to procedures for action research, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Each cycle in this study consisted of two meetings. The research data was collected through several instruments, namely evaluation of English speaking, questionnaires, and field notes. The subjects of this study were 4th semester of D3 Program students, English Study Program, Business Administration Department, State Polytechnic of Madiun. The results of the overall average score of fluency in English speaking in the first cycle of 2.44, in the second cycle of 2.89, and in the third cycle of 3.19. Classroom action research can be stopped in cycle III because it is in accordance with the average criteria of success is 3.01. The interesting of students towards the implementation of role-playing learning strategy shows that students are happy and interested in implementing role playing learning strategy.

This research is aimed to know the use of Eclectic Method towards students grammar mastery. Due to the low grammar score and less motivation of the students to learn grammar as one of the material that should be mastered by the students integratedly with the other material. The research was a two-cycle classroom action research conducted to twelfth graders of social department at MAN 5 Jombang. This study used grammar tests, observation sheet and field notes as the instruments. The research finding proved that eclectic method was effective to be conducted in teaching English, mainly in grammar class. The data showed that the grammar score was improved significantly from the average score of 55.87 in preliminary study to become 76.65 in cycle 1 and 88.19 in cycle 2. The participation of the students during the cycle was also improved from cycle to cycle.

Vocabulary is basic part of language when we learn english. Nowadays, introducing english vocabulary can be started in the kindergarten school. In early age, the young learners are easy to accept the language that has been given by teacher. Therefore, young learner in early age (approximately 3-4 years old) should get stimulation and learn English vocabulary in order to get preparation to study in higher level. This research was conducted to increase the young learners’ vocabulary mastery in b class of tungga dewi day-care. The classroom action research was implemented in this research. The teaching technique using songs were implemented through teaching and learning activities in two cycles of classroom action research. Each cycle of classroom action research was planning, acting, observing and reflecting. In this research, instruments to gather the data were field notes and observation checklists. Field notes and observation checklists were applied to take the data during the teaching learning process. The data would be analysed in order to solve the problems. Songs were applied in the activities of the first cycle of classrooms action research. The result of the first cycle was not quiet successful because the average of post –test score in cycle one was 37,8. Therefore, the teacher-researcher conducted the second cycle. The second cycle was conducted based on the result of the first cycle. Songs were combined the body movement in second cycle of the classroom action research. The result of the second cycle was successful because the average of post-test score was 77,78. As a conclusion, it can be concluded that the implementation of english songs could help to increase the young learner’s vocabulary mastery.
