The paper identifies the main problems with parking in Kiev and their causes, analyzes the European experience in organizing a parking system according to the Park & Ride principle, identifies the main goals and principles for designing the intercepting parking for the implementation of this system, and also studies the feasibility of such car parks in Kiev (an experiment to determine the total time spent by passengersresidents of Boyarka when they move in the morning «peak» periods to the central part of Kiev). Object of the study – the general methodological provisions for organizing intercepting parking (Park & Ride systems) and organizing combined trips (individual and public transport) using the intercepting parking at the «Ipodrom» metro station (Glushkov Avenue) in Kiev. Subject of the study – the process of moving passengers-residents of the Boyarka city in the morning periods of «peak» in the central part of the city of Kiev. As shown by the results of the experiment, the use of public transport (metro) to travel around Kiev as an alternative to individual transport allows passengers to reduce time and, more importantly, significantly increase the guarantee of timeliness of travel. In addition, moving along the route of the Boyarka – Kyiv city according to a combined scheme (using public transport when driving around the city, regardless of the area of location), will be economically advantageous. The organization in Kiev of a network of intercepting car parks at the end stations of metro lines («Teremki», «Lisova», «Chervony Khutir» and «Syrets») in combination with other measures (for example, restricting parking on the streets in the city center, introducing parking throughout the city center, a reliable metro network, as well as an improved view / supply of public transport services) will help to reduce the flow of individual cars on the radial trunk streets and in the center of Kiev. They are presented in the article. Results. The adequate econometric model has been worked out in this research. This model shows the relationship between controllable marketing factors and social effect has been presented in the article. We have determined the controllable marketing factors. They are number of employees and volunteers in marketing, the average monthly wage of employees in marketing, satisfaction of volunteers, total current assets of an organization, and the level of marketing potential. The model can be used to predict the level of social (ecological) impact of providers of urban public transport services in the Ukrainian society.

Abstract In this article the authors present the methodology adopted and the results obtained in the first stage of the research encompassing focus group interviews (FGI) about the needs of public transport users in a selected city (Poznań). The elicitation and assessment of the requirements were carried out for three groups of people with disabilities using public transport in the city of Poznań: blind and partially sighted people, deaf and hearing-impaired people, as well as people with locomotor dysfunctions. A study carried out on the basis of a scenario especially designed for the FGI purpose has made it possible to identify barriers for people with disabilities and, consequently, to formulate their pre-trip,on-trip and post-trip requirements when it comes to urban public transport services. The results will be used to construct a questionnaire to be used further on in the project.

A properly functioning public transport is one of the most important components of urban mobility for the population. Due to spatial inhomogeneity and overall socio-economic differences within a city, there are often considerable disproportions in the quality of transport services within its districts. Also, the city of Krakow is no exception in this case. For a comparison of public transport accessibility in 18 Krakow districts, 7 major quantitative and 5 minor indicators were created. These indicators include the most important characteristics of transport services such as accessibility, frequency, connectivity of connections, and ratios of tram public transport subsystem. The resulting values give a fairly comprehensive picture of the quality of the transport services. Overall higher values for most indicators occur in the central districts of the city. However, due to the complexity of the observed characteristics, it is possible to discover significant differences in the structure of individual indicators. Peripheral districts reach higher amplitudes, which means that in some aspect they have even better transport services than the city center. Yet, at the same time, we also find opposite extremes here, highly below-average values for most other indicators. A detailed analysis of the results provides a unique perspective on the disparities among districts. It can also serve for specific identification of strengths and weaknesses of transport services and its possible optimization.

The article presents the meaning and the current state of functioning in the Berlin area – Brandenburg (Germany) Union of Communication. The paper is focused on the problem of eliminating barriers by implementing innovations in public transport for passengers with reduced mobility, such as disabled, but also older people, pregnant women, people with small children, large luggage or obese. These innovations are intended not only to increase the availability of public transport for these groups of users, but also to respect their human rights to live with dignity. Practical solutions are based on the city of Berlin, with an average of 3,8 million passengers per day on the public transport services.

The article is devoted to the study of the attitude of Kazan residents to the prospect of not using a personal car as a means of transportation in the city. The aim of this study is to develop recommendations to popularize the idea of using public transport services of Kazan city residents on the basis of the analysis and its evaluation. To achieve the goal, the following main tasks were set and solved: a theoretical and empirical interpretation of the main concepts on the topic of the study; a comparative analysis of the volume of public costs from the use of a private car by residents of Kazan and their use of public transport services was carried out; the system of public transport in the city of Kazan was evaluated. The methodological tools of the study included a questionnaire survey and content analysis. As a result of the study, we found that at the moment there is indeed a problem within the city of Kazan, which consists in the impossibility of ensuring the universal transition of residents from the use of private cars to the consumption of public transport services, due to the lack of development of the relevant infrastructure.

The aim of this paper is to determine, based on conducted marketing research, the level of passenger satisfaction with public transport services for the purpose of making better marketing decisions in the example of the City of Belgrade. The main task is to test the hypothesis on the existence of significant influence of factors, such as quality service, attitude and behaviour of employees (e.g. driver), adequate informing, quality of vehicles, line routes and timetable, on passenger satisfaction. Correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used for interpreting the obtained results and examining the formulated hypothesis. Empirical research has shown that there is a significant correlation between the aforementioned factors and passenger satisfaction with public transport services. The obtained results provided recommendations and guidelines for improving and increasing the quality of public transport services. The research results also provide the basis for future research that could examine the relationship between passenger satisfaction with services and sub-groups within the analyzed factors.

Towards the end of 90s, mounting losses forced Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (MPSRTC), the sole provider of public transport in Madhya Pradesh, to suspend their urban services. As a consequence, organized public transport services ceased to exist in Indore, the largest metropolitan city of the state of Madhya Pradesh. This void was filled by Intermediate Public Transport (IPT) consisting of minibuses, tempos and auto rickshaws. As of January 2004, 300 private minibuses, 150 tempos, and 10,000 auto rickshaws were plying as IPT, but with poor service levels. Lack of public transport was a catalyst for rapid increase in personalized vehicles, and high level of pollution and accidents. Worried over the rapid growth of personalized vehicles, and high levels of pollution and accidents in Indore, policy makers and administrators had made several attempts of reviving the public transport system in the city. In 2005, the Collector and District Magistrate of Indore decided to make another attempt of reviving the public transport. The two cases, Indore City Bus Transport Service (A) and Indore City Bus Transport Service (B) discuss the complexity involved in the planning, rolling out, and running of public transport services in Indore on a sustainable basis. Case (A) details the prevalent socio-economic condition, travel characteristics, and positions taken by various stakeholders on provisioning of public transport service in Indore as of November 2005. The readers have to conceptualize the transport system for the city and take the position of the Collector and District Magistrate of Indore to prepare a note that would be submitted to the state cabinet for their approval. Case (B) discusses the challenges during the growth and operation of the services as of June 2008.
