The application of value engineering to Blimbing Permai Residence (BPR) aimed to sistematically organize and apply a technique that identifies the product to meet the required function at the lowest price. It was applied to houses of 90/180, 135/180, and 223/253 at BPR without lowering the price. Pareto and function analysis method were employed to analize some phases of work plan to result in some more objective alternatives based on several variables. Both methodes result in breakdown cost in a chronological order of the highest itemized work cost to the lowest one. The analyses result in some work items possibly to replace, they are of wall, roof, truss, and concrete slab works of 90/180 type; masonry, truss, and roff tiling of 135/180 type; concrete, wall and roofing of 225/253 type. The Value Engineering result in hebel bricks to replace conventional ones; ceramic concrete slab to replace conventional concrete one ; light galvanic to replace wooden truss ; granite tile to replace marble ones. Its a result type 90/180 is more economical at IDR.250,292,433.03 or 10.5 % of the existing IDR.276,591,438.78. The type 135/180 is more economical at IDR.346,840,945.04 or 11.07 % of the existing IDR.385,047,844.51. At last of type 223/253 is more economical at IDR.595,156,885.77 or 17.08 % of the existing IDR.667,232,563.47.Keywords: breakdown cost, function analysis, Pareto Analysis, value engineering

Goa Pawon is a prehistoric site that very important to discover the growth of ancient society in the world. Not only found humans remains in Goa Pawon, but we also found so many artefacts and ecofact remains, one of the artefacts is a tool from chert. This research is intended to discover the variety type of chert tools and to uncover what is the function of every type of chert tools that used to sustain human life in Goa Pawon. Data collecting method used for this research is bibliography study, observation, and interview. All the finding then collected and analyzed. Research method used for this research is typology analysis method, and function analysis method. Typology theory, functional theory and behavior archaeology theory is use by the researcher to be the basic idea about the type and function of rijang that used by the humans of Goa Pawon. The findings of chert artefacts in Goa Pawon is split into two category, waste category and tools category. Waste category has flakes, debitage, and core. Tool category has edge scrapper, notched scrapper, end scrapper, danticulated scrapper, high-back scrapper, lancipan dan multi tools. All the tools in this site have so many form and made typical adjusted to what is for. Tendency for rijang is used to process animals, for example is pointer that was function to make a hole on animal bone and animal tooth and made to be a jewelry, and notched scrapper that used to dredge a molusca, Pelecypoda type.

Cost control is an important measure to improve economic benefit of enterprises, while the theory of value engineering (VE) is the best method to coordinate improving product performance with reducing the cost of production. It realizes the improvement of the value of product and economic benefit, and achieving the purpose of optimizing the cost structure. The theory of value engineering is innovatively applied to the study of cost control of the marine diesel, the function analysis system technique graphical method (FAST) is used to analyze the function of the marine diesel to screen out 16 key components which are the research elements of Value Engineer. The comprehensivefunction proportion analysis and cost analysis method are used to analyze their value and determine the components which need to be improved. At last, this paper gives out the enforceable improving scheme.

Nowadays, demands in the application of fibre in concrete increase gradually as an engineering material. Rapid cost increment of material causes the increase in demand of new technology that provides safe, efficient and economical design for the present and future application. The introduction of ribbed slab reduces concrete materials and thus the cost, but the strength of the structure also reduces due to the reducing of material. Steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) has the ability to maintain a part of its tensile strength prior to crack in order to resist more loading compared to conventional concrete. Meanwhile, the ribbed slab can help in material reduction. This research investigated on the bending strength of 2-ribbed and 3-ribbed concrete slab with steel fibre reinforcement under static loading with a span of 1500 mm and 1000 mm x 75 mm in cross section. An amount of 40 kg/m steel fibre of all total concrete volume was used as reinforcement instead of conventional bars with concrete grade 30 N/mm2. The slab was tested under three-point bending. Load versus deflection curve was plotted to illustrate the result and to compare the deflection between control and ribbed slab. This research shows that SFRC Ribbed Slab capable to withstand the same amount of load as normal slab structure, although the concrete volume reduces up to 20%.
