Abstract. The article examines the problems of art education in the 1920s of Kyiv Art Institute in the context of interdisciplinary links and tasks of ideological education. The educational process in art educational institutions, such as Kyiv Art Institute, received its ideological and philosophical basis in the early Soviet period, according to which traditional approaches to art education were deconstructed, curricula were changed, new disciplines were introduced, etc. Understanding the essence of the educational process in this period is the key to understanding the artistic culture of the early USSR in general. In the course of this study, both general scientific methods, such as formal analysis, historical, biographical, typologically systematic, problem and logical, and empirical, as well as cultural and historical, which belongs to art history methods, were used. For the first time, this study highlights the origins and stages of formation of such disciplines as Anatomy, Social Pedology and Physiological Reflexology, which were taught at Kyiv Art Institute in the 1920s of the 20th century. The article makes up for an insufficiency in the data about the history of development and scientific and methodological approach in teaching these disciplines based on the autor’s processing of archival documentation kept in the funds of the Central State Archive Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine. The aim of the article is to study the curriculum of the Kyiv Art Institute in the 1920s of the 20th century on the basis of primary sources, to analyze new approaches and interdisciplinary connections of the new curriculum, the place and significance of such disciplines as Anatomy, Social Pedology and Physiological Reflexology. The article is based on primary sources and archival data, such as abstracts of lectures on Ukrainian, Pedology, Anatomy, Philosophy, which were listened to by Professor O. K. Bohomazov, were found by the author of the article in the funds of the Central State Archive Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine.

The article covers the performance of the famous Ukrainian opera singer Larysa Arkhipivna Rudenko based on archival materials of her Personal Fund [F. 120], which are stored in the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine. The archival material is represented by periodicals of the late 30s and early 80s of the 20th century, in particular, articles about the artist’s creative activity and reviews of musical critics at her concerts. The above archival materials are first introduced into scientific circulation. The article reveals the peculiarities of L. Rudenko’s performance and her role in the development of Ukrainian vocal art in the second half of the 20th century. Unknown pages of the biography and performances of the outstanding opera singer L. A. Rudenko, student of the founder of the Ukrainian vocal school Olena Oleksandrivna Muravieva are considered. The main methods of the work of the outstanding vocal teacher O. Muravieva are described in the words of her famous pupils L. Rudenko and L. Yefremova. The first creative searches by L. Rudenko began during her studies at the Kyiv Tchaikovsky Conservatory. The figure of L. Rudenko is associated with the state archives of Ukraine, in particular: at the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. I. Tchaikovsky and presented by documents testifying to the high professionalism of L. Rudenko as a vocal teacher and personal fund of Larisa Rudenko of the Central State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine. The author analyses individual achievements of the performer on the example of her work on operatic parties. The attention is paid to the peculiarities of L. Rudenko’s work on women’s images: the full sound of the singer’s voice is harmoniously combined with a detailed elaborated scene drawing of a role. The performance of L. Rudenko is presented in the coverage of professional music criticism and periodicals. The significant influence of L. Rudenko’s performance on the development of Ukrainian operatic art of the second half of the 20th century has been proven.

Between the mid-1950s and the mid-1960s, the Cannes Film Festival contributed to the rise of Federico Fellini’s image as an internationally acclaimed Italian auteur. This article situates the relationship between the director and the festival within the respective cultural, industrial and historical contexts. First, it discusses the role of festival director Robert Favre Le Bret in selecting and promoting Italian auteur cinema. Then it focuses on how the system of co-production between Italy and France impacted Fellini’s work and the Festival’s embrace of his films. Finally, it examines how the French press constructed the image of Fellini as an ‘intellectual celebrity’. By grounding the analysis in documents from the Cinémathèque Française (French Film Archive), the Archivio Centrale dello Stato (Central State Archive) in Rome, and other primary sources from both Italy and France, this article provides a synergic view of the conditions for the emergence of Fellini’s public image through the Cannes Film Festival.

This article analyzes main collections of archival documents from the Central State Archive of the Kirov Region that reflect the economic and social sphere of life of the South-Western uezds of the Vyatka gubernia in the second half of the 19th – early 20th century. The post-reform years were the period of most active economic development of the Vyatka gubernia and also of relative social stability, which ended with the outbreak of the First World War. During this period, a significant archival complex was accumulated, which allows us to study the most diverse aspects of life, both in the gubernia and in its uezds. As a result of the study, it has been established that most documents on the issue are concentrated in the archival fonds of the Vyatka Gubernia Statistical Committee, institutions of the gubernia and uezd zemstvo and city self-government. Among them are statistical materials, which permit to identify trends and dynamics of various economic and social indicators and to establish the place of the South-Western uezds in the gubernia. Reporting documentation is illustrative of the activities of various gubernia and uezd organizations and its results. Estimate documentation characterizes financial and economic activities of various institutions, including bodies of zemstvo and city self-government. Documents on personnel make it possible to study the life of various figures of zemstvo and city self-government, to form a more complete picture of them, peculiarities of their formation, life path. The protocol documentation of zemstvo and city self-government bodies contains information on the life of the gubernia and its uezds, on the work of zemstvo and city institutions. The analysis of the documents from the Central State Archive of the Kirov Region provides a fairly broad picture of the various aspects of economic and social life of the South-Western uezds of the Vyatka gubernia in the second half of the 19th and early 20th century.

Archival documentation of the central state authorities is according to its categorization the first class historic source and as such inevitable in scientific research of historic time that it refers to. The Archives of Yugoslavia, former state archive and today common cultural heritage is unavoidable spot for various researchers. For the purpose of qualitative appraisal, categorization, research work and publishing of cultural heritage entrusted to the Archives of Yugoslavia, establishment of scientific department is necessary. This department will essentially contribute to the improvement of complete archival activity.

The study is devoted to the analysis of archival materials of maternity hospitals and departments in Russia in the second half of the 18th – early 20th century stored in the Department for the storage of documents until 1917 of the Central State Archive of Moscow, in the Central State Historical Archive of St. Petersburg, in the State Archive of the Yaroslavl Region, and in the State Archive of the Smolensk Region. The voluminous files of maternity wards have meager viewing lists and are rarely engaged in historical research. However, introduction into scientific use of documents from maternity wards and medical reports is important for research on social and demographic history and that of childbirth, as well as for the history of everyday life, women's and gender history. Hence springs the purpose of this study, which is to identify the source potential of the fonds of maternity hospitals and departments in pre-revolutionary Russia and information capabilities of medical reports, journals, and maternity cards. The authors have established that materials found in these fonds can be divided into several categories: acceptance cards of women in labor, clinical cards of obstetrics, patient histories. The documents recreate the picture of the development of clinical obstetrics, the daily life of women in labor in the clinic, the interaction of doctors and patients. These materials can be a valuable source for studying the representation of body culture, reproductive behavior, hygiene, sexual socialization. The analysis of archival documents concludes that while in the first decades of their existence, maternity wards ministered to the poor strata of the population in birth of illegitimate children, in the 1910s they catered women from wealthy families. An important result of the comprehensive study of archival material is the discovery of information capabilities of the fonds of pre-revolutionary maternity wards in the central and regional archives of Russia. Pregnancy cards contain extensive history, including data on the first sexual intercourse, beginning of menses, number of pregnancies, age at the time of first pregnancy, thus providing important information on the history of sexual socialization, female physicality, and reproductive culture. A meaningful analysis of these materials allows the conclusion that maternity ward journals, patient histories, midwives' reports contribute to the study of social, everyday, and gender history; and provide new information for studying the history of corporeality, childbirth, sexuality.

The article presents an archaeographical publication of two narratives of academician A. E. Fersman and poet L.I. Oshanin, presented to the readers of the newspaper "Khibinogorsky Rabochiy" on September 29, 1934, and working drawings-plans of the building of "Tietta" —the Khibiny mountain station (1930–1934), since 1934 —the Kola base of the USSR Academy of Sciences —the first peripheral stationary institution of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The primary sources are kept in the funds of the Museum-Archives of the Central State Archive of the KSC RAS.

The purpose of the study is the color as a phenomenon of semantic - cultural and educational potential in art and art education. In the article, the significance of color is revealed in the aspect of historical and national peculiarities taking into account the development of modern color didactics. It has been proved that the development of color thinking is an expression of the spiritual and cultural level of society, as well as one of the main aspects in the training of future professionals in artistic professions. A historical analysis of color education in art education was conducted, color concepts and methods of work with the color of some outstanding artists and teachers were considered. The cultural and educational significance of color in the picturesque legacy of V. Kandinsky, K. Malevich, M. Krymov and other artists was considered, the discovery and achievements of which, in the field of color education of specialists, formed the basis of modern color didactics. The methodology of the research is to apply comparative, historical and logical methods with the use of cultural approaches. This methodological approach allows us to reveal the problem under study from a philosophical, pedagogical, cultural and artistic point of view. Analysis, systematization and generalization of theoretical and empirical provisions allowed to determine the state of color education of future specialists of artistic profiles in its historical aspect. Conclusions It is proved that the development of color thinking is an expression of the spiritual and cultural level of society, as well as one of the main aspects in the process of color education of future specialists in artistic professions.

Based on archival materials obtained from the Central State Archive of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the article analyzes the state of public education in modern Kyrgyzstan during the period under review as part of the Turkestan Governor General in the Semirechensk, Syr-Dariya and Ferghana Regions. It is noted that since the 1870s civil and church elementary schools began to work for children of the Russian-speaking population. The article also draws attention to the emergence of new-method schools, the features of which consisted in the abandonment of the old education system. These schools draw attention to methods, training periods and subjects of teaching. One of the features of public education of the period under review was the functioning of Muslim educational institutions, madrasa.

The abundant Russian historiography of the medieval history of Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Lithuanian-Russian State) has become in the last decades the centre of the discussions and is often subject to groundless criticism. This historiography was not very lucky in the Soviet period of the 20th century either, as it was severely criticized from the Marxist-Leninist position. When discussing Russian historiography the author of this article is consciously committed to the Russian positions. There are no reasons to consider this historiography branch either Byelorussian or Ukrainian one, as that was really Russian historiography, - the phenomenon that formed under the favorable specific conditions of Russian Empire before the beginning of the 20th century. The said phenomenon can be studied in different ways: according to the existing then main trends and schools or according to their affiliation with specific universities of Russian Empire. But according to the author of this article the best way to study the issue is in accordance with the main concepts of history. And then the pre-revolutionary historiography appears as an integral scientific paradigm that turns out to be the most divaricate branch of the Lithuanian studies of the time. It created, in its turn, the most vivid and objective historical picture that can still serve as the basis for the studies of Lithuanian-Russian state.
