Parents play an important role in children’s academic achievement. The purpose of the present study was to explore the internal structure of an established parent survey and to investigate the relationships among different aspects of parental involvement in predicting children’s mathematics achievement. The study involved secondary data from 139 parents and math achievement scores of 121 elementary school-aged children. Guided by Hoover-Dempsey and Sandler’s Revised Parent Involvement Process model, a Principal Component Analysis with direct oblimin rotation was conducted on the parent survey, followed by path analysis to predict children’s math achievement. Five principal components were retained. Standardized results of the path analysis indicated that parental self-efficacy had the largest direct effect on children’s math achievement. Moreover, parental self-efficacy was favored directly by parental perceptions of specific school invitations to become involved. These findings shed light on the interplay between parental involvement and children’s achievement and underscore the importance of school-family collaboration, which can potentially link to parental self-efficacy.

OBJECTIVE: to test a theoretical model based on the Parent-Based Expansion of the Theory of Planned Behavior examining relation between selected parental, teenager and cultural variables and Latino teenagers' intentions to engage in sexual behavior.METHOD: a cross-sectional correlational design based on a secondary data analysis of 130 Latino parent and teenager dyads.RESULTS: regression and path analysis procedures were used to test seven hypotheses and the results demonstrated partial support for the model. Parent familism and knowledge about sex were significantly associated with parents' attitudes toward sexual communication with their teenagers. Parent Latino acculturation was negatively associated with parents' self-efficacy toward sexual communication with their teenagers and positevely associated with parents' subjective norms toward sexual communication with their teenagers. Teenager knowledge about sex was significantly associated with higher levels of teenagers' attitudes and subjective norms about sexual communication with parents. Only the predictor of teenagers' attitudes toward having sex in the next 3 months was significantly associated with teenagers' intentions to have sex in the next 3 months.CONCLUSION: the results of this study provide important information to guide future research that can inform development of interventions to prevent risky teenager sexual behavior among Latinos.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of talent management and self-efficacy on employee performance through career development at PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Binjai Region. This type of research is causal with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all employees of PT. Pos Indonesia (Persero) Binjai Region, totaling 80 employees. The sampling method used is using a questionnaire and secondary data collection using SPSS with path analysis. The results of this study found that talent management has a positive and significant effect on career development. Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on career development. Talent management has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Then indirectly talent management through career development has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and self-efficacy through career development has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at PT. Abstract. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the flight-related core competencies for professional airline pilots and to structuralize them as components in a team performance framework. To achieve this, the core competency scores from a total of 2,560 OPC (Operator Proficiency Check) missions were analyzed. A principal component analysis (PCA) of pilots’ performance scores across the different competencies was conducted. Four principal components were extracted and a path analysis model was constructed on the basis of these factors. The path analysis utilizing the core competencies extracted adopted an input–process–output’ (IPO) model of team performance related directly to the activities on the flight deck. The results of the PCA and the path analysis strongly supported the proposed IPO model.

The present paper aims at investigating the occupation-wise perception of customers towards access to cooperative banking services. The study is both expressive and evaluative in nature. In order to investigate the perception of customers towards access to cooperative banking services, both primary and secondary data has been collected. The primary data have been collected from 540 customers of cooperative banks operating in three northern states of India i.e J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. The technique of factor analysis has been used through SPSS (version 17.00) with Principal Component Analysis along with varimax rotation for summarisation of the total data into minimum factors. Secondary information was collected from published sources i.e books, journals, files, cooperative bulletins, organizational reports, annual drafts of Planning and Statistical Department (Government of J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab), RBI reports, magazines, and Internet. ANOVA has been applied for data analysis. The results of the study shows that there exits significant means difference between perception of customers towards access to Cooperative banking service.

It is widely documented that negative body image is a significant public health concern due to its association with symptoms of disordered eating and worse psychological well-being. The purpose of the study was to develop a path model of intrapersonal dimensions (self-efficacy and internal locus of control) as antecedents of perceived stress toward females’ body dissatisfaction and eating attitude disorders. A total of 300 females, including 100 aspiring fashion models, 100 athletes and 100 students (controls), between 15 and 24 years of age (M = 19.6, SD = 1.85) participated in the study. Measures included level of psychological stress, self-efficacy and locus of control dimensions, body dissatisfaction and eating attitude disorder indices. A path analysis confirmed our research hypothesis. Comparing the three subsamples, we found better fit indexes in the two subgroups with elevated investment on their body image with respect the control group. More specifically, the model in the group of aspiring fashion models showed the best fit index. These results indicated that aspiring fashion models have a strong desire to maintain their low body mass or to become thinner. For this reason, a suitable involvement of expert health workers in the nutritional and psychological field could be extremely essential in the fashion world to maintain a healthier well-being.
