We present an exemplary system of three identical oscillators in a ring interacting repulsively to show up chimera patterns. The dynamics of individual oscillators is governed by the superconducting Josephson junction. Surprisingly, the repulsive interactions can only establish a symmetry of complete synchrony in the ring, which is broken with increasing repulsive interactions when the junctions pass through serials of asynchronous states (periodic and chaotic) but finally emerge into chimera states. The chimera pattern first appears in chaotic rotational motion of the three junctions when two junctions evolve coherently, while the third junction is incoherent. For larger repulsive coupling, the junctions evolve into another chimera pattern in a periodic state when two junctions remain coherent in rotational motion and one junction transits to incoherent librational motion. This chimera pattern is sensitive to initial conditions in the sense that the chimera state flips to another pattern when two junctions switch to coherent librational motion and the third junction remains in rotational motion, but incoherent. The chimera patterns are detected by using partial and global error functions of the junctions, while the librational and rotational motions are identified by a libration index. All the collective states, complete synchrony, desynchronization, and two chimera patterns are delineated in a parameter plane of the ring of junctions, where the boundaries of complete synchrony are demarcated by using the master stability function.

Application of the Spectral Analysis for Modeling the Rotations of the Moon The main purposes of this research are the development of the optimal spectral analysis schemes for the investigation of the rotational motion of the Moon and then the comparison between the result of the optimal spectral analysis of the rotational motions of the Earth and the Moon. Dynamics of the rotational motion of the Moon is studied numerically by using Rodrigues-Hamilton parameters over 418.9 year time interval. The results of the numerical solution of the problem are compared with the composite semi-analytical theory of the Moon rotation (SMR) represented by Cassini relations and the semi-analytical solutions of the lunar physical libration problem (Eckhardt, 1981), (Moons, 1982), (Moons, 1984), (Pešek, 1982). The initial conditions of the numerical integration are taken from SMR. The investigation of the discrepancies is carried out by the optimal spectral analysis methods for the Newtonian case. All the periodic terms representing the behavior of the residuals are interpreted as corrections to SMR semi-analytical theory. As a result, the Moon Rotation Series (MRS2010) is constructed, which is dynamically adequate to the DE200/LE200 ephemeris over 418.9 year time interval. A numerical solution for the Moon rotation is obtained anew with the new initial conditions calculated by means of MRS2010. The discrepancies between the new numerical solution and MRS2010 do not surpass 20 mas over 418.9 year time interval. The result of the comparison demonstrates that MRS2010 series represent more accurately the Moon rotation than SMR series.

Abstract OBJECTIVE Endoscopic third ventriculostomy has developed into a therapeutic alternative to shunting for the management of carefully selected patients with primarily noncommunicating hydrocephalus. This procedure, however, requires a general anesthetic and necessitates violation of the brain parenchyma and manipulation near vital neural structures to access the floor of the third ventricle. Using two cadavers and off-the-shelf angiographic catheters, we sought to determine whether it was possible to navigate a catheter, angioplasty balloon, and stent percutaneously through the subarachnoid space from the thecal sac into the third ventricle so as to perform a third ventriculostomy from below. METHODS Using biplane angiography and off-the-shelf angiographic catheters along with angioplasty balloons and stents, we were able to pass a stent coaxially from the thecal sac to and across the floor of the third ventricle so as to achieve a third ventriculostomy from below. RESULTS Coaxial catheter techniques allowed for the percutaneous insertion of a stent across the floor of the third ventricle. Ventriculostomy was confirmed by injecting contrast medium into the lateral ventricle and seeing it pass through the stent and into the chiasmatic cistern. CONCLUSION We describe the performance of third ventriculostomies in two cadavers by use of the new concept of percutaneous intradural neuronavigation. This procedure may obviate the need for general anesthetic and minimize the potential for brain and vascular injury, especially if ultimately combined with magnetic resonance fluoroscopy.

The shortest route from the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River to Europe passes through the Strait of Belle Isle. The alternative routes pass through the Cabot Strait and are between 100 and 400 miles longer according to the European port of destination. The Strait of Belle Isle is, however, normally closed to navigation from the end of December until the middle of July due to the presence of pack ice and icebergs.Air reconnaissance patrols flown over the Labrador, Belle Isle and East Newfoundland areas seem to indicate that, for the past few years at least, ice conditions have not been so severe as to hamper navigation throughout the normal period of closure. Consolidated ice is only present from the third week of January to mid-February and clears in mid-April to mid-May; only icebergs present a problem in May and June. It is hoped t o show that with proper air reconnaisance at the beginning and end of the ice season, navigation through the Strait could be extended to eight or nine months of the year, or even longer, instead of the present short season of only 5½ months.

We investigate the r-process nucleosynthesis during the magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) explosion of a supernova in a helium star of 3.3 M⊙, where effects of neutrinos are taken into account using the leakage scheme in the two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic code. Jet-like explosion due to the combined effects of differential rotation and magnetic field is able to erode the lower electron fraction matter from the inner layers. We find that the ejected material of low electron fraction responsible for the r-process comes out from just outside the neutrino sphere deep inside the Fe-core. It is found that heavy element nucleosynthesis depends on the initial conditions of rotational and magnetic fields. In particular, the third peak of the distribution is significantly overproduced relative to the solar system abundances, which would indicate a possible r-process site owing to MHD jets in supernovae.

Healthcare logistics play an important role in management, being attributed the activities of acquisition, distribution and movement of materials, professionals and patients. This work aims to develop a study, using the healthcare logistics in the movement of patients in the third health region of Paraná, proposing a linear programming problem that will pass through a computational simulation, considering the existing demands and constraints in the system, aiming to optimize the flow of patients from this region. The present study developed four mathematical models, based on demands and constraints followed by linear programming in order to find the best possible solution for the flow of patients from the third health region of the state of Paraná. The study developed reached its goal of optimization, generating an economy in the transportation of patients. Through the analysis of the results, it is concluded that the model that best suits the presented problem is the one of costs minimization, since the one of vehicles presented higher costs. Possibly the model that minimizes the vehicles would bring better results if the vehicles were not outsourced, but of the Ponta Grossa City Hall (PMPG). Was possible to verify the importance of the theme, especially when referring to the flow of patients in the health services due to the lack of studies with this specific approach. Even with the scarcity of data, it is possible to notice the potential for improvements on this patient transport system.

Dyeing Finishing (DF) textile industries which consume a lot of energy, chemicals, water, etc., then produce a lot of wastewater which creates significant environmental problems, can be anticipated by applying Cleaner Production. This paper is presented to discuss the technical modification process of dyeing production machines, which reuse process wastewater to save water and energy consumption in the production process. For that reason, there are three steps taken. First, understand the process flow of the textile dyeing industry. Second, understand in detail the dyeing process of the Jet Dyeing (JD) machine. Third, implement steps on the floor, focusing on the JD machine, starting from the initial conditions until the third step. As a result, savings in water consumption per day for 10 JD machines were achieved by almost 50 %, with details; at the initial status 700 000 L, 600 000 L in the first step, 430 000 L in the second step, and finally 400 000 L in the third step. A similar action can be carried out in other processes, such as washing, de-sizing, or in other industries which also consume a lot of water and energy.

This research is motivated by a problem found in class VII SLB Negeri 2 Padang in moderate retardation students in January 2019. Researchers found a student who could not wash their hands properly. This study aims to determine whether the training method using effective learning videos to improve the ability to wash hands. This study uses a class action research method consisting of two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of the study in the initial conditions were 12.90%. After the first cycle, the results of the first meeting (22.58%), the second meeting (32.25%), the third meeting (38.70%) and the fourth meeting (48.38). The results of the second cycle of the first meeting (58.06%), the second meeting (67.74%), the third meeting (74.19%) and the fourth meeting (77.41%). These results indicate that the training method using video learning can improve the ability to wash hands for mentally retarded students in the moderate category. From these results it can be seen that the training method with learning videos can improve the ability to wash hands.

The present paper deals with a general dynamical qualitative study of the rotational motion for cometary-type bodies submitted to gravitational torques. Numerical experiments of the evolution of comet nucleus attitude have been then performed, including the Sun and Jupiter's disturbing torques in the model. Results show small effects of the solar gravitational perturbation for Halley-type orbits. Only a very close-approach with Jupiter induces notable effects. The latter configuration presents some interesting sensitivity to initial conditions.

The small parameter method was applied for solving many rotational motions of heavy solids, rigid bodies, and gyroscopes for different problems which classify them according to certain initial conditions on moments of inertia and initial angular velocity components. For achieving the small parameter method, the authors have assumed that the initial angular velocity is sufficiently large. In this work, it is assumed that the initial angular velocity is sufficiently small to achieve the large parameter instead of the small one. In this manner, a lot of energy used for making the motion initially is saved. The obtained analytical periodic solutions are represented graphically using a computer program to show the geometric periodicity of the obtained solutions in some interval of time. In the end, the geometric interpretation of the stability of a motion is given.

In a previous paper on this subject (Philosophical Transactions, 1840), I had shown,—1st, that a long circular pillar, with its ends flat, was about three times as strong as a pillar of the same length and diameter with its ends rounded in such a manner that the pressure would pass through the axis, the ends being made to turn easily, but not so small as to be crushed by the weight; 2nd, that if a pillar of the same length and diameter as the preceding had one end rounded and one flat, the strength would be twice as great as that of one with both ends rounded; 3rd, if, therefore, three pillars be taken, differing only in the form of their ends, the first having both ends rounded, the second one end rounded and one flat, and the third both ends flat, the strength of these pillars will be as 1—2—3 nearly. The preceding properties having been arrived at experimentally, are here attempted to be demonstrated, at least approximately.
