The synchronization error of the left and right steering-wheel-angles and the disturbances rejection of the synchronization controller are of great significance for the active rear axle independent steering (ARIS) system under complex driving conditions and uncertain disturbances. In order to reduce synchronization error, a novel hierarchical synchronization control strategy based on virtual synchronization control and linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) is proposed. The upper controller adopts the virtual synchronization controller based on the dynamic model of the virtual rear axle steering mechanism to reduce the synchronization error between the rear wheel steering angles of the ARIS system; the lower controller is designed based on an LADRC algorithm to realize an accurate tracking control of the steering angle for each wheels. Experiments based on a prototype vehicle are conducted to prove that the proposed hierarchical synchronization control strategy for the ARIS system can improve the control accuracy significantly and has the properties of better disturbances rejection and stronger robustness.

To overcome the shortage of traditional rear axle compliance steering (RACS) technology, a kind of viscoelastic smart material is introduced into the rear suspension of a vehicle to construct rear wheel semiactive steering system. This article focuses on the nonlinear dynamic behavior of the vehicle with RACS incorporating viscoelastic smart material. First of all, considering the tire nonlinearity and the fractional derivative constitutive relation of the viscoelastic material, the nonlinear dynamic model of the vehicle with RACS is formulated. Then, the lateral dynamic behavior of the vehicle with RACS is demonstrated through numerical experiments. Finally, some factors that influence shimmy of the compliance steering wheel are investigated. Numerical results demonstrate the Hopf bifurcation characteristics of the vehicle with RACS and disclose the influence factors of Hopf bifurcation characteristics for the vehicle with RACS, which lay the theoretical foundation for the development of the rear wheel semiactive steering technology.

We focus on the antivibration controller design problem for electrical power steering (EPS) systems. The EPS system has significant advantages over the traditional hydraulic steering system. However, the improper motor controller design would lead to the steering wheel vibration. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the antivibration control strategy. For the implementation study, we also present the motor driver design and the software design which is used to monitor the sensors and the control signal. Based on the investigation on the regular assistant algorithm, we summarize the difficulties and problems encountered by the regular algorithm. After that, in order to improve the performance of antivibration and the human-like steering feeling, we propose a new assistant strategy for the EPS. The experiment results of the bench test illustrate the effectiveness and flexibility of the proposed control strategy. Compared with the regular controller, the proposed antivibration control reduces the vibration of the steering wheel a lot.

When tractor steers in the same rut, it can not only improve its flexibility in steering, but also reduce soil compaction and crop rolling. In this paper , the concept of tractor steering in the same rut was proposed on the basis of four-wheel-steering (4WS) theory, and the angle relationship between front wheel and rear wheel, which can achieve the same-rut-steering, was established. A three dimensional parameterized model of tractor’s same-rut-steering mechanism was established by the Pro/E software, and its running tracks were simulated in the ADAMS environment. Simulation results show that the same-rut-steering accuracy was affected to some extent when tractor’s speed or steering wheel deflection rate was changed. At last, methods for improving the same-rut-steering accuracy were put forward.

The main aim of any design must not solely be targeted on customer satisfaction however conjointly customer safety following this the amount of accidents are witness solely because of poor lighting facilities provided in automobiles on curved road static headlights are insufficient since they point tangential it along any point of curve instead of pointing in the vehicles direction so to avoid this problem steering controlled headlamp system has been projected which might hopefully flip out to be a boon to the individual driving through the sinusoidal roads throughout night times. Special safety features are built into cars for years some for the security of car’s occupants only, and some for the security of others. One among the alternatives available in design and fabrication of steering controlled headlight system. car safety is important to avoid automobile accidents or to minimise the harmful effect of accidents, especially as concerning human life and health. automobiles are controlled by incorporating steering controlled headlight mechanism. The Ackerman steering mechanism helps the motive force to guide the moving vehicles calls on the road by turning it right or left consistent with his needs thus a combination of the steering system and embedded system link kills the headlights within the direction as per the rotation of the steering wheel. this mechanism has been incorporated in BMW, Audi Q-7 and Benz etc., to make sure a safer drive, but our main aim is to implement the system in all vehicles at lower cost.

A new type power steering system was developed for electric hybrid city bus. It is mainly composed of fluid reservoir, electric motor, steering pump, safety valve, solenoid, pressure sensor, hydraulic cylinder, braking air tank, controller, steering wheel, steering angle sensor, steering control valve, mechanical steering mechanism, steering power cylinder. Its main idea is based on using of pressure from braking air tank to push a cylinder to generate hydraulic pressure. It can provide enough pressure for steering needing timely. And the steering pump does not need working at the time of no steering requirement. The application of a new type power steering system can save energy to improve fuel efficiency.

Waterjet propulsion is increasingly used in both combat and civil ships. In this study, a mechanism analysis-based modelling approach of a dual-waterjets propulsion steering system is presented. Experiments carried out on an experimental platform are used to validate the model system. Then a model-based synchronous control strategy for the dual-waterjets propulsion steering system is developed. The experiment results show that the model-based proportional–integral synchronous control strategy may reduce the synchronization error significantly compared with the reciprocal of the synchronization error driving synchronous control strategy practised on some small ships.

In order to ensure work safety, large cranes generally use two motors together to upgrade the load, so often there is a synchronization error, control accuracy is affected. To address this issue, the paper crane hydraulic lifting system to study proposed control strategy based on fuzzy PID's. The results show that the method used to effectively reduce the synchronization error between the two motors to improve the control precision crane, a certain reference value.

Abstract The steer-by-wire (SBW) system eliminates the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the carriage wheel. It eliminates various limitations of the traditional steering system, so that the steering ratio of the car can be freely designed and the steering by wire system can achieve good active front wheel steering (AFS) function. In the study of the stability control of vehicles on the μ-split road, there are mainly two methods, one based on vehicle trajectory maintenance and the other based on vehicle dynamic stability control. Both of these control methods have delays, which is not conducive to the trajectory flowing ability of the vehicle when driving on the μ-split road. A shared control strategy is proposed to improve the vehicle’s stability. The purpose of this study is to establish different variable transmission ratio characteristic curves according to the different input signals of the driver and the vehicle, such as angular change speed, steering wheel angle, etc. Based on these conditions, a new model combining driver’s intention with vehicle dynamic model is established, so as to achieve the purpose of judging the stability of vehicle in advance, to reduce the delay time of control and to improve the response speed, which will improve the stability performance of the vehicle.
